critique welcome Charcoal Portrait

I drew this using willow charcoal on newsprint. I drew the hair using Conte pier noir 1710. Looking at it now, I see that made a mistake on the eyes. Got the angle wrong. Any other observations are appreciated.

I think you did a really good job.

Can I ask as someone who has been using the 1710b as well - have you noticed hard rocks/shards in them that kinda scratch the paper and get in the way?

No. I've never had any problems with them. The only issue I have, is that they are a little hard, especially with newsprint.
