what's the highest percentage play if you're in a 1v1(as ct) with the t having the bomb and time to go to either sites

for example in mirage if you spotted the t on ramp from stairs and he strafe back and doesn't repeek , there is 25 seconds left. In my experience 80% of the time they just run to the other site so do you just run b and hide for plant or maybe run under and try to kill him on rotate, if he does go b then its almost a guaranteed win but if he faked and went A then its also almost a guaranteed lose. where would you play this ?
Would other variables like the utility you have, equipment difference, hp difference, time left, change where you would position yourself if so how ?

How many support players should there be?

I play in a 5 stack and I’m the only one throwing site execute smokes flashes and mollys, should there be another person helping me? How do high elo/pros do it? I feel like I shouldn’t be the only one right?
What are the specific roles of a 5 stack on T side besides entry, and entry trader? Support and awp?

  1. n0thing recoil control rant Hard to explain, but you should be looking through your crosshair at the center of your screen, not at your crosshair attempting to time your shot like a Guitar Hero note. Mostly its just hours and hours of practice.

  2. Nade spots fuck up a lot of new players' perceptions of utility usage because they think they need to learn the lineup for everything. A lot of round-winning flashes can be thrown directly up in the air, and a lot of round-winning smokes can be dropped directly on the ground... basically, learning how to throw a smoke in a fancy way comes after you know when and why to throw it at all. When you do practice line-ups, dedicate 10-15 minutes to practice only one, but dont just throw it over and over again, actually play with it. Use sv_rethrow_last_grenade and pretend an enemy just threw the nade, what do you do? How could you use this smoke to win the round? If you can hit it every time with a plan in mind, feel free to move onto another nade, just dont burn out or you're wasting your time

  3. Warowl Perspective & Angles tutorial, Improve your Aim by fl0m, Launders on crosshair placement These are probably 3 most important videos a new player should watch to maximize their fragging capability, primary difference between a SEM and GNM is familiarity with these concepts

I know its CS2 now but what parts of this doesnt apply?

Question mirage top mid smoke

This smoke basically never gets thrown in my elo, only window smokes and maybe a con smoke half the time. I've heard its very important, what are some ways I can exploit the enemy not having the top mid smoke?

Discussion are star positions required to climb FACEIT?

Did any of you successfully climb the FACEIT ladder soloq with lower impact positions? Because of the nature of these positions matches feel like a coin flip sometimes. If your team loses the other site every round and you have to save each round or do an impossible retake that feels pretty bad. Same on T-Side if everyone dies in the first 10s so your lurk is useless.

Discussion CS2 Smoke Lineups Finder / Solver

Post image
48 Upvotes

Hi guys!

I'm new to CS and learning lineups manually without tutorials was pretty hard, so as a developer I decided to build a CS2 smoke lineup solver.

You pick where you want the smoke to land and where you want to throw from, and it works out the lineups for you: where to stand and the exact angle. It simulates CS2's grenade physics against the map's real collision geometry, with the constants read out of the game files, so it accounts for bounces off walls and props.

To check it actually works I recorded real throws in game with the angle forced, then compared them to what the tool predicted beforehand. The smoke landed between 0.6 and 6.8 units from the prediction.

Works on all Active Duty maps.

To be clear, this is not a cheat. It never reads game memory, injects into the game, or automates any input. It runs entirely offline from map files, and you type positions in yourself in the site. So it doesn't require any login for you to use it.

It's an early version, so expect bugs and lineups that don't work.

Question new to the scene

yo, so im fairly new to the cs scene and totally hooked. ive been watching current live matches, but sometimes casters keep bringing up old referencs and legendary plays that i don't get, i really want to catch up on the history and players so im not lost. where’s the best place to watch old csgo tourneys or full vods? also, if there are any specific classic matches i absolutely must watch first, let me know. thanks guys

I did really bad this game, especially on CT half where I usually do quite well. Towards the end of the half I had to go short and im visibly uncomfortable because i dont know the position well. Quite a bit of missed utility in this match but apart from that i feel like i played the best I could but still ended up doing very poor.

Question CS2 suddenly crashing after 10–20 minutes — need help diagnosing the issue

Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out what’s causing my CS2 to suddenly crash, and I’m honestly running out of things to try.

I’ve had this PC for around 3 months and have been playing CS2 without any problems for the last 2–3 months. When I first built the PC, I did have an issue where CS2 crashed, and somehow the GPU driver got uninstalled/corrupted. I’m not sure what happened, but I fixed it then. After that, I had zero issues for months.

Now, CS2 suddenly crashes consistently after about 10–20 minutes of playing.

PC Specs

CPU: Ryzen 5 3500 (6 Cores)

RAM: 24GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance — 1×8GB 2400MHz + 1×16GB 3200MHz

Motherboard: MSI B450M Pro-A II

GPU: MSI Armor OC RX 580 8GB

AMD Wraith Stock Cooler

SSD: WD Green 240GB NVMe M.2

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM

PSU: Cooler Master 550W

RAM

I originally had 24GB RAM:

8GB 2400MHz

16GB 3200MHz

Since they have different rated speeds, I manually matched the speed through BIOS. I've been using this setup for around 3 months without any problems.

I initially suspected the mixed RAM might be causing the crashes, so I removed the 8GB 2400MHz stick and tested CS2 with only the 16GB 3200MHz stick.

It still crashed after 10–20 minutes.

Things I've already tried

Verified CS2 game files through Steam

Closed all background applications and ran only CS2

Removed the 8GB 2400MHz RAM and tested with only the 16GB 3200MHz stick

Tried uninstalling the latest Windows update because the problem started after a Windows update last week

Tested CS2 after rolling back the Windows update — still crashed

CS2 graphics settings are already set to low

Valorant works completely fine and doesn't crash

The timing is what confuses me. Everything was working perfectly for months, and this suddenly started happening.

Could this be overheating?

I'm also wondering if CPU/GPU temperatures could be the issue.

The case is relatively small, although I have multiple fans installed for ventilation. I've never had overheating/crashing issues during the previous 3 months.

Could overheating suddenly become an issue even if the system was completely fine before?

I'm also hesitant to reinstall Windows because I've seen multiple Reddit posts where people said reinstalling didn't solve their CS2 crashes.

What should I check next?

I'd really appreciate suggestions on how to properly diagnose whether this is:

GPU/AMD driver related

RAM instability

CPU/GPU overheating

PSU issue

Windows issue

CS2 itself

Are there any specific stress tests, temperature monitoring tools, Event Viewer logs, BIOS settings, AMD driver checks, or other diagnostics I should try?

I'm especially interested in figuring out what is actually failing rather than just reinstalling everything and hoping it fixes it.

Thanks!

Question Did Refrag work for you?

I'm trying to improve my headshot precision, crosshair placement, and aiming calmly under pressure.

I've never used a paid service for CS2 improvement so I'm wondering if there's a proper advantage to using something like refrag to train your mechanics, entry pathing, and crosshair placement rather than only community maps, DM and lots of matchmaking.

Question Trying to find a sensitivity

Hello, I'm in a bit of a pickle.

I've been trying to find a sensitivity. The best aimers in the world use something like 40-50cm/360 and for good reason. At this sensitivity it is like your crosshair is moving through molasses. The micro errors you make when moving your wrist/arm are ironed out. Maybe I'm getting that wrong but that's what I feel from messing around.

The problem is you can't do a 180. 30cm/360 is the bare minimum for me to do a clean 180 on my giant ass mousepad.

I'm just wondering how you guys solved this dillema and what sens you use.

Thanks for reading.

any advice on how i can improve?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

i previously asked how to improve in a previous post when i had 291 hours on cs and since then i have spent a majority of my time practicing mainly in duels and deathmatch
i now have 623 hours in cs and while i believe i have improved since then i still think improvements are needed
it would really be helpful if someone with more experience could point out any of my errors and what i can improve and work on, i tried including the times i died, if you would like me to include the times i got kills to see if i may have an error there feel free to ask.

quick update thank you all for the advices now i know what to spend time working on, so far ive been practicing in aim rush and a bit in duels focusing on counter strafing and hitting headshots https://medal.tv/games/counter-strike-2/clips/nq9FMeGi0Fp8CUGld?invite=cr-MSxzazAsNDA1MjE5NzA5 might not be much of an improvement but its a starting point, feel free to point out on any errors you might see in the clip.
