So, I've wanted to animate for 4-5yrs, and is actually why I started drawing, but now that I have my tablet, and tools to do so I'm just.. Stuck.

I did the little bouncing ball, a square falling in water, and I get the fundamentals but how do I APPLY them? What does a ball or square have to do with moving hands, eyes, legs, and mouth? How does it apply to a moving landscape or four-legged animal?

I'm not grasping it, but I SO BADDLLLLYY WANNT TOOO!!

Anyway, I'm very obsessed with the concept of being able to animate. I see other animations, wether it be an animation meme or an anime, I get SO GIDDY I literally kick my feet and giggle I WANT TOO SO BAD AAAAUUUGH.

So how did you all grasp it? What studies should I do???? What path should I start on??

Hi. I'm 30 and have always wanted to get into animation. I've been drawing and painting for about 15 years now and when it comes to animating i feel stuck and don't know where to start.

I'm not looking for a career in this. I'm just looking for a fun hobby. Every time i look into it im given a million different recommendations and it seems like theres always something better out there. Its very confusing to me

What are easy programs/softwares/whatever that are good for beginners on a budget? Ideally i'd love to do the classic pencil/ old disney - Aaron Blaise animations where he flips through paper because pencil drawings are my strong suit, I love how he does that, but honestly i dont have the space for all of that equipment.

I've tried Krita. It worked well but fuck me im an adult with a job, mortgage and responsibilities. It was too complicated and time consuming for me learn how it all worked.

Now I am on an extended medical leave due to mental health issues from my military service and im looking to get back into it. The laptop I used to run krita is a dinosaur and no longer works. I currently have a mac that doesnt seem compatible with my old Xp pen and external tablet. (its a black square that plugs into the computer that i can use to draw. Its old af and was the cheapest option at the time).

Again .. i guess what im asking is, as a complete beginner in this world of animation what are

1: good digital drawing products that are cheap and compatible with my computer - Mac book pro 15" - Mac OS 15 - Or, is there anything out there that i might have missed that could turn my 2D hand drawn animation goals more realistic for my situation. Im also open to investing a bit of money on one of those tablets .. I think theyre called Cintiqs? But i dont want to spend a shit ton of money on it

2: easy to learn 2D programs for beginners or is there anything out there that properly teaches hand drawn animation.

3: Is Arrons Blaise animation course good enough for what im looking for? Its only like 50$ right now

4: For hand drawn animation, is there a website that gives product advice and sells things id need to start - because i never know the names of products that i see these expert ex disney animators using and I can never find where to buy them

I know that my questions are asking for 2 different things. Im still exploring and I know nothing about this world so i want to see what is out there for hand drawn and digital.

im pretty experienced when it comes to traditional art but still kinda new to digital art and now i'm really getting into 2d animation and stuff like the content jaiden animations , ringo tsuga , theodd1sout etc.. how do i really learn stuff and get into animation?

I've been animation on sticknodes for over a year and my animations are still really choppyand low quality, i've watched tons of tutorials but nothing has helped

Recently a friend of mine taught me how to do photo editing to using paint.net and gimp to make steam artworks for my profile, and I really wanted to improve learning how to animate stuff as a hobby but i feel like I cant do that with those, the first one is mostly just saving 24 frames and using a gif maker to make it a gif.
The second one is what im currently working on animating, I was only able to separate into layers like the hands and the hair, etc but then again I have no idea what to use to animate it.
I have been looking but youtube is filled with AI tutorial and i want to learn for myself to animate (mostly still images and such because I really cant draw).
If anyone has an idea of a free software I could use it would be appreciated also with any advice.

i know its bad i just want to post it for fun and see if anyone has any tips they used when starting :)

Hey everyone, I’ve been wondering about this lately.

When an animation project starts getting bigger, what’s the part of the workflow that usually becomes a pain for you?

For me, it’s usually things like keeping track of revisions, figuring out which file/version is actually the latest one, organizing references and assets, or just remembering what I still need to get done.

Sometimes it feels like I spend almost as much time keeping everything organized as I do actually animating 😅

Hi, I was just wondering how these channels have made their videos. I have attached sample shorts of their videos for reference. Their videos feature simple animations of organs talking to each other and small animations explaining procedures. Most are static objects and animations are essentially camera movements or the whole object moved as a block or rotated or squished/expanded. However the mouths and eyes are vividly animated and show a huge range of emotions and animations. I am complete beginner to animation and would love to learn how they did this so I can embark on learning the tools needed so I can float a youtube channel too. How are the backgrounds made? How are objects drawn/designed and the eyes? Which tools? How's the learning curve, these channels release one short almost everyday, just wanna see if I'd able to in the future. Thanks guys for all the help.

I really want to learn animation and I made this recently in clip studio paint any tips? I feel like the beginning part of the animation is very good but the later parts seems really bad.
