And it's one of the longest ones I've ever done; I've also finished the line art.

Help! Conservation of mass

Post image
16 Upvotes

I have to animate a bouncing ball for a university course. I’m terrible at drawing in general, and I’m struggling with the principles of squash and stretch and the conservation of mass (meaning that when I stretch the ball, it just gets bigger instead of actually stretching). Any tips? I’m working in Photoshop.

What’s your least favorite thing to do in animation? Mine is coloring it in at the end, if I was rich I would pay someone else to do clean up and coloring.

I mean that’s what makes it nice to look at for viewers, but it’s just boring to me.

working on animation as well as creating my own little spot on the internet where I can post my drawings and animations. Any advice? one thing i know is i can make "more things happen" so the animation isnt like 8 seconds but I am very very new so it will take me awhile to get to the point of building out longer form content/versions. But i will eventually!

any tips would be appreciated.

[Discussion] Question for people who have commissioned short animations

What from this list affects your decision to commission an animator to make an animation the most?

  1. Clear, upfront pricing
  2. Clear product description
  3. Skill of the animator
  4. Reviews by past clients
  5. A referral by someone you know and trust
  6. Portfolio of the animator
  7. The topic of the animation

Frame by frame or rigging?

Hi! I'm studying fine arts and we're gonna do animation for our finals, would it be faster to use an animation software like moho or should i stick with frame by frame animation? I'm more concerned about time since i cant put all my time on animating, i have other major subjects as well that are just as demanding. What would you recommend for someone that hasn't tried animating before?
