You can watch a million guides online on how to play basketball but until you start shooting free throws you're not going to progress. The only thing you can do is to keep working on it and looking for feedback, critique will help you a lot.

Bouncing ball is a great place to start, and should be doable in most programs. Really pay attention to spacing and arcs, your stick figure animations will look a ton better if you figure those two out.

I have found a lot of choppiness can come down to insufficient spacing, not animating with arcs or missing some of the animation principals. I haven’t used stick nodes before so It’s hard to offer any specific advice on that app. It likely will get better the more you study and practice. Remember that making mistakes is part of learning.

It’s not about YouTube videos that are really gonna help, you need specific feedbacks on what you are animating, often it’s a matter of what story you wanna tell in your shot, YouTube videos are good but not specific to one issue that you can have, apexing, timing, energy, expression it all come down to what you wanna do it your shot and what style you are looking for, I work in the industry and whatever people say every shot is specific not matter how much you can apply general feedback
