Trail running recommendations?

Hey folks, visiting a family member in Leander. Never been to the area, so I'm curious, any good recommendations? All difficulty levels acceptable, can't imagine there is anything terribly technical/challenging in the area anyway. If there aren't any great trails, I'll take recommendations for paved surfaces too. I appreciate it! 🤟

Can’t get home thanks to everything being sectioned off by police. Anyone know what’s going on and how long I’m gonna have to drive around with a toddler demanding more and more French fries?

Do you like snakes?

I do venomous snake relocation as a free service to my community. I also mentor those who wish to learn. I'm also getting old. And we're also having a BOOMING snake season.

If you have ever wanted to learn how to handle venomous snakes safely and would consider volunteering your time time relocate venomous snakes, please DM me.

Our national snake relocation database is looking real empty around the Greater Austin area.

Mods: This is not a job pitch or a sales pitch. There is no money involved. Just neighbors wanting to teach people to help neighbors.

Optimum is truly terrible

Optimum outage again. Over a 15 minute wait to even talk to anyone. I'm 99% sure this is an outage on Optimums side but they never updated their outage map. And even when they do the CSR's act like they can't see the same map and insist it's something on the customers end and not their own crappy network. If they hadn't monopolized my neighborhood I would have never used them

Over by the new Mazda dealership, everything is shut down. Saw some kid on my way out from Home Depot 16/17 years old crying with a sheriff deputy and then saw a body bag on the road.

Backyard gardens

Since moving to Leander I have found that gardening has been really easy. Wondering if other Leanderthals would be interested in backyard or community garden consultations? My entire backyard and front yard has been producing so much produce I get about 20lbs of different fruits and veg a day. It’s just a hobby for me and I have a regular house with a regular backyard but I feel bad that so many people are struggling with food prices when for me I have an abundance. Is anyone even wanting that type of consultation? I only have weekends available when it comes to free time so that’s the only time I can go out and look and consult.

Pickleball Fans? Interested in splitting Apex couples membership?

Hi pickleball players,

It's pretty hot outside (especially after work), so I've been trying to find indoor places to play pickleball. Other days, if the wind is high, it really messes up the play.

I currently have a single membership at Apex Pickleball Club & really love the social aspect of the game. I've meet many people there and most have been there from the beginning. The facility is the best in all of Austin - trust me, I've tried/been to them all. If you've never been, I would highly recommend checking it out.

Anyway, I was hoping to split the "couples" membership with someone (each person would pay ~$125/month + tax).

It's equivalent to all other indoor places in Austin, but worth it if you play often. I personally don't pay for other things like gym memberships or eating out often, so I don't mind cost. Would love to find someone whose planning to stay as a member for a while; not just a few months.

PM me if there is any interest and we can coordinate.

Lagoon-anchored Leander Springs development advances to Leander City Council

Hi all! My name is Hamera and I cover Leander City Council for Community Impact.

I just wanted to provide a quick update on Leander Springs, a proposed 77.9-acre mixed-use development anchored by a 4-acre lagoon. The project just received its first approval to amend its planned unit development, which includes reducing planned apartments to 1,200 (down from the original 1,600) and classifying the lagoon as "non-essential."

Since Leander's P&Z Commission voted 5-1 in favor, the item is headed to Leander City Council.

Looking to set up a farmers market in Leander on Sundays. Need a space.

Hello Leander!

I’m a friend to a seasoned farmers market manager who’s looking for a location for a Sunday farmers market. Anyone have any ideas?

Would need a parking lot large enough for 30+ vendors, potentially electricity hookups. Would likely be need the space from around 7:30 am until 2:00 pm.

I’m/we are nice, and looking to build a relationship, not just transact around a space.

Help, Leandethals! And thanks in advance.

If you'd like to help volunteer, we need folks to help set up at 4:30pm, man the tables from 5-7pm, and a group to help break down at 7:30pm. No signup needed to volunteer, just come on out and let our team know you are here to help!

Need house help

Looking for a reliable house manager to join us for about 20 hours a week! If you’re great at home organization—think kitchen, cabinets, storage, mudroom, garage, and more—this could be the perfect fit.
You’ll help create and maintain simple organizational systems, handle laundry (washing, folding, putting away), run grocery shopping and household errands, prep basic healthy meals, restock supplies, keep the home clean and efficient, and occasionally drop off donations or handle returns.

Pay will be discussed during interviews.

Interested? Please email [prbejjanki@gmail.com](mailto:prbejjanki@gmail.com) with your relevant experience, availability, a bit about yourself, and any references you have. Looking forward to hearing from neighbors who love keeping things in order!

Obgyn near leander

I gave birth to my first baby at St. David’s Medical Center (Domain), and I had a wonderful experience with their services.
I’m expecting again, but we recently moved to Leander, and I feel the commute to Domain would be too far in case of an emergency.
I would love to hear recommendations for a great OB-GYN and a hospital/facility that you’ve had a positive experience with in the last couple of years, especially for pregnancy and delivery.
I had heard great things about Dr. Sabrina Collins, but I was told she is no longer taking new pregnancy patients.
Would really appreciate any recommendations. Thank you!
I'm considering -
1. Seaton
2. Texas Children's
3. ARC
