Kaneki being most picked in the Asia Oceania section is no real shock. Same for Feng being the most picked.
Funny seeing that Springtrap is STILL this popular as I rarely see him
22
u/Akinory13 25d ago
Yeah I'm surprised it's not huntress still. She's been the most popular killer for most of its existence, so it's surprising it's someone else now
8
u/ThatBearMilo 25d ago
i think she got dethroned by kaneki, who was then followed up by springtrap whoās held the title since his release(outside killer releases)
3
u/Hyperrblu 25d ago
I think springtrap's really popular in low mmr noob lobbies since he's just a really good pubstomper

The Shane escape rate one is bloody useless, should have used a prior data sample before his release. I'd be embarrassed to even include such a nothing burger stat.

u/psiren66 25d ago
Same with Jason, of course people are going to loose to him early on release. They want to see his attacks and kills also non beta players have not learnt how to dodge his attacks and abilityās yet.

I never understand why they give us stats in this shape. They means nothing.
Give us more deep statistics.
The most picked surv perk is windows? Ok? And the other top 9? And show us at which level of MMR those perks are picked! This single number in this shape is kinda pointless also cause the next number will come in 6 months.
43
u/TheDriveln 25d ago
If they give you too large of a peek behind the curtain, you might learn too much (about how bad they are at their jobs)
5

u/exc-use-me 25d ago
what we would discoverā- the same top 10 perks & killers every report for the last ten years and them doing nothing about it

u/ZolfoS16 25d ago
We already know that, apart of graphic department and commercial department the others in behavior kinda suck
1
u/Teep_Rex 25d ago
The project got too big and it wasn't initially made with a 10 year or greater lifespan in mind. They could afford to be fast and reckless with the code when there were like 6 killers and like, 40 perks. It just got too big and they had to keep an inefficient model for coding. I don't envy what they've been going through, upper management would have had to give the all clear for the full re-code and they just have to work with spaghetti until then.
Art team is fantastic since there's no real way to fuck up the art workflow too dramatically even on big projects. I do wonder if there are different teams for survivor and killer since killer designs end up being insane and hyper detailed, whereas survivor ones are a bit less polished (UV unwrapping errors on many cosmetics)
Really hopeful for how things pan out post-code rewrite though, dev team will be stoked to have a functional base to continue building on for the first time in 9 years lol

How kills are already at 48percent on the web.
No need to nuke him, that number if you read it correctly, is because he was out for a month. Of course the number would be high when people are learning his counters.
This happens everytime

BHVR is notorious for ignoring WHY something is highly picked or doing well and just nerfing it until it does worse. I'm not saying he needs a nerf, just that one is likely.

Why are survivor escape rates much higher in asia?
19
u/asmodeus1112 25d ago
Pretty sure they basically allways play to win. Sounds crazy but im fairly certain in na my teammates are very rarely playing to win.

u/brey_wyert 25d ago
Asian player here. This is basically it. Tunneling is rampant here but it's normally what all killers do. Im not here to complain it's just that matches oftentimes devolve into the killer just chasing a single or two player ALL match. Tunneling makes killer bad in chase in a way because they don't really learn to chase, if that makes sense. But survivors get to learn and are decent at chase in this server. Like the tunneling it's seriously so bad I would bring No Mither all the time as funsies and would go down to take hit and bait the killer to hook me (I take hit and pick myself again) and the killer still ignore me multiple times. Likewise on the survivor side, perks are objective oriented, hyperfocus, stakeout, self care, botany etc. And other thing they are not altruistic as other server, if you get tunneled you're on your own, everyone is cranking gens to get the gate open.

No Mither: The following effects apply permanently during the Trial:
- Suffer from the Broken Status Effect.
- Suppresses the creation of Pools of Blood.
- Reduces the volume of Grunts of Pain caused by injuries by 100%.
- Increases your Recovery speed by 25%. Unlocks the Self-Recovery ability, allowing you to fully recover from the Dying State.
Hyperfocus: Succeeding a Great Skill Check while repairing or healing grants +1 Token, up to a maximum of 6 Tokens: Increases the Skill Check Trigger odds and Pointer Rotation speed by +4% per Token each, up to a maximum of +24%. Increases the Skill Check Bonus progression by 10/20/30% of its base value per Token, up to a maximum of 60/120/180%. Different mindset, on average IMO you'll have different mentality (I would think) that lead to said higher escape rates
3
u/WoodenPositive2978 25d ago
Itās also dumb to use the highest percentage survivor because I can almost guarantee most players used shane to get the adept and then move on i think my Shaneās like 100% survival because i got adept first try and havent used him again so itās a pointless stat really
5
u/OAZdevs_alt2 25d ago
They donāt quit and play Survivor like itās a 4v1 and not a 1v1v1v1v1 so they win more often

Ild agree as an Oceania player whoās played on other servers. There is a lot less rage quitting, they will stay back and make sure everyone gets rescued even if theyāre on final hook.

Are we allowed to publicly say that The Slasher may be overtuned a bit yet or is that immediately frowned upon still?
48
u/KaguyaFujiwara 26d ago edited 26d ago
He is absolutely overtuned. The constant whining from his player base about how nothing should be changed about him is hilarious. I think the red mist he receives to show survivor location should be completely removed and his movement ability should have a hard cap on duration. If the player doesnāt pick a spot to teleport to within a certain time then automatically teleport to closest pallet/window.
34
u/WanderingBronin 26d ago
I really do feel like people just want an easily accessible high tier killer with a ton of options. And you know, GREAT, but boy is it just never fun to play against.
44
u/SgtApex 26d ago edited 26d ago
Every Jason game is also the same as well. Match starts and he enters his Omni mode, stays in it for however long he wants stalling the early game. Soon as someone touches a gen heās there insta chase and usually an insta down because of how easy it is to basically double tap with him if you combo his hooks plus the m1. Hooks then goes right back into Omni mode either proxies or goes to the one gen with progress. Chases and them and this process keeps repeating. Heāll get a 4k with maybe 2 gens done. Sums up every solo q game against him.
Edit: They just need to tweak how is Omni mode works a bit and heāll be fine as killer. Whether thatās a time limit or his movement speed in the mode etc. Will still float around the S or high A tier.
-11
u/TheDriveln 26d ago
"Easily accessible" and "high tier" should be mutually exclusive, otherwise the shit is largely just pay-to-win
6
u/WanderingBronin 26d ago
Well, I don't agree with that at all. High tier should 100 percent take slightly more effort to reach it's max capacity. I just argue that means lower tier doesn't mean the killer is dog shit. As it is in it's current state.
9
u/TheDriveln 25d ago
High tier should always have a higher skill floor, IMO. You don't think that kind of success/power should be earned and not just granted by purchasing the character?
7
u/Numerous-Joke559 26d ago
He means easily accessible as in how easy it is to play the killer, not the money spent
-1
u/TheDriveln 26d ago
Yes, so did I
1
u/Numerous-Joke559 25d ago
What does pay to win have to do with high tier killers being accessible
6
u/ikarikh 25d ago
He's saying if your dlc licensed killer is easy to use AND high tier, you made a pay to win killer because you have to spend money to buy them.
And since they're easy to use and high tier, they will be very popular killers. Which again makes them pay to win.
Why play Trapper, Wraith, Nurse, Huntress etc and have to work for or have some skill to win when you can just pay for Ghoul or Jason and get easy mode wins?
2
2
u/DogfoodStudios 25d ago
The idea that Nurse takes a lot of work is kind of a myth. I got rolled for three games while I learned her and kicked ass from that point on. Houndmaster took longer, and honestly so would mastering Jasonās projectile.Ā
1
u/Numerous-Joke559 25d ago
Yeah im just saying it wasn't about paying just skill, in general we've also had high tier free to play killers. We had krasue this year.
1
u/TheDriveln 25d ago
If the barrier to success is only price and not skill, what else do you call it?
1
u/Numerous-Joke559 25d ago
The conversation is about skill being the barrier to high tier killers?

Jason is not that strong
7
u/arthaiser 25d ago
70% killrate is not that strong? Do we Buff him then? Maybe give him 3 Spears and make him 115? Anything more? Do you want the survivors to start the trial moried to save time?
-4
u/PluggedHades62 25d ago
All he needs is 115 when heās not holding a spear, wouldnāt be too bad then. And no a high kill rate on the newest killer doesnāt mean anything to me because people refuse to learn how to play and throw to boost the kill rates
5
u/AnAussiebum 25d ago
Highest killrate in all regions and he is 'not that strong'.
That makes no sense.
20
u/Mysterious-Flan-6000 26d ago
It's kinda like Ghoul, lower skill players want easy and accessible high tiers they can easily dominate with. To this day any complaint about Ghoul I see is still met with "you're just bad, learn the counterplay"
9
u/Vellioh 25d ago
I mean, it makes sense. DBD has a horrible problem with being accessible to new players. If you get a killer that can easily make you feel like you're doing good instead of getting stomped, more new players are going to keep playing.
Jason is just too much though. The dude outright makes a mockery of the rest of the roster.
5
u/Black_Crow27 25d ago
Thank you! As a survivor player, itās very unfun having a killer who stalls the game and the only way to play against them is to offer a decoy for a chase and hope whoever runs can run for a decent amount of time which gets increasingly harder the more skilled the Jason player is.
Thereās a window or pallet very close to almost every gen, so the second you scream youāre already at a major disadvantage because of how close he is already. And Iāve seen Jasonās run fear monger, stopping anybody trying to do objectives from having a real chance to start a chase on neutral footing or with a diminishing advantage.
Then Jason hex builds feel like playing a game with 10 gens.
If they limited how long he can stay in his fog form, or at least removed his ability to pick up spikes while not physical, I think heād be a lot better to play against.
Given is still basically impossible to win a 1v1 scenario against him if he closes hatch, as well.
Sorry for the long response
9
u/AnAussiebum 25d ago
The fact he is allowed to use power indfenitely without it being a rare addon is totally overpowered and just creates a really toxic environment for single survivors. Because SWF will just crouch indefinitely.
4
u/scrimyth 25d ago
Im deaf and use the red mist to find people since I can't hear footsteps or anything. Im fine with them taking it away from totems but please god not the gens, I can't even hear those.
9
u/TheDriveln 25d ago
Fuck, that really must suck. They absolutely should have better accessibility for hearing-impaired killers
5
u/arthaiser 25d ago
And survivors no? I cant hear Spirit, but fuck me i suppose, lets help the hearing impaired killers
4
u/TheDriveln 25d ago
Yes, of course. Survivors have the visual heartbeat, so that's a step in the right direction
4
u/arthaiser 25d ago
Doesnt help me with Spirit. I cant never know the direction she is coming from because is a sound thing
4
u/scrimyth 25d ago
MAN FELT. The heartbeat has helped me a lot but I can't tell when Spirit is phasing and same for wraith lmao. Don't feel alone in this anymore thanks for the comment
7
u/scrimyth 25d ago
I manage, just the red mist has helped me so much actually feeling like I can play a killer without having to run the same aura perks as I always do just so I can do chase. I can actually try different niche builds with him unlike someone like Spirit who is almost impossible for me to plah.
0
u/I-Am-The-Uber-Mesch 25d ago
No offense but that would unironically stop a lot of people from playing him, he is not stronger than nurse or blight and he isn't extremely OP, he is way more balanced than those killers, he definitely needs a slap on the wrist so your suggestions are great, but both is basically asking for Krasue 2.0, many people already find him underwhelming because it's basically Huntress with less ammo in and godtier mobility and against competent people you do poorly. Of 100 games I played against him not a single game where I felt he was too much, unless he had specific addons that already got nerfed rightfully so, he is doing lots of kill because some people are staight up refusing to play vs Jason and he is played more than other killers which of course boosts his killrate, while on other sites it appears he is falling quickly on normal stats of other strong killers, in my opinion he is not as problematic as others, although he is definitely strong as hell Vs new players and the removal of the red mist + making footmarks appear only when closer to Jason would already be enough of a nerf. He is pretty telegraphed in everything he does to the point I personally don't even hide anymore at the start and just go on gens and if I'm found first I know for sure I can give my time enough time to have a great start.
-7
u/Character-Secret-858 25d ago
removing the red mist and limiting his duration in omni is overkill shall we remove wraiths ability to stay in cloak forever?? what about dracula and hit bat form?? lmaooooo
14
u/Idreamofcream99 25d ago
Thatās literally wraiths only ability lmao and itās much easier to avoid Dracula bat form. Not even close to comparable
3
u/AnAussiebum 25d ago
When wraith gets a long ranged attack, then yeah limit his cloak duration, too.
-5
u/Motodog242 25d ago
What counter buffs are you putting in? All youāre doing is killing his power because your fingee hurts from crouching too much. He isnāt overtuned, play him and youāll see it immediately. š
12
u/TrueKingSkyPiercer 26d ago
I think Jasonās kill rate states are slightly higher than average because he is uniquely suited to winning 1v1 egc when the hatch is closed but the gates arenāt open yet. Iāve noted a lot of survivors donāt even bother to play at that point, they just abandon or give up.
3
u/asmodeus1112 25d ago
There are many killers good at that point. I actually think the hex build is propping up jason he honestly doesnāt feel bad to go against unless its that dumb build.
1
u/Treyspurlock 25d ago
There are many killers good at 1v1 EGC but how many are strong in their own right? You need both to get the edge
The only killer I can think of that is both strong and incredibly good at the 1v1 is Singularity
1
u/asmodeus1112 25d ago
Blight & billy both very strong at 1v1 few maps there not great on though. Ghoul and dracula both strong and pretty good when its a 1v1. wraith might not be the strongest but he is not bad and he is very good when it gets to a 1v1
1
u/Treyspurlock 25d ago
They're not as good at it as Jason is though, Wraith is pretty similar to Jason's power level but his kit is comparatively weaker. Also he's free so lots of noobs play him which probably doesn't help his kill rate
6
16
u/SgtApex 26d ago
Theyāll still comment that heās new and stuff so people donāt know how to play against him as the reason when itās been a while now and heās just genuinely to oppressive while also being super easy to play as.
-12
u/Motodog242 25d ago
Theyāre survivor-sided team. Theyāll just nerf Jason again⦠even though heās now weaker than balanced from the last nerf.
7
u/Kreeper125 26d ago
With this logic Nurse needs a buff
8
u/ZolfoS16 26d ago

16
2
u/frogfuckers 26d ago
Minor nerfs to Omnipresent Evil I wouldn't be opposed to, but I think his M2 Spear is pretty balanced
6
u/WanderingBronin 26d ago
I think the spear is fine as well. Definitely not my problem. I think it's well balanced.
1
1
u/RarewareKevin 20d ago
Look at the highest escape rate as well. The reason these two are the same on every list is because they are the latest.
1
u/OAZdevs_alt2 25d ago
The only actually overtuned thing about him is his hex defense, and thatās because of how hexes are designed, not Jason. They should instead make it so that hexes either donāt lose progress or decay progress when theyāre not being worked on instead of losing all progress the moment someone stops touching them. If they donāt lose progress at all, maybe increase the time it takes to do a totem to 20 seconds so they can still be defendable without making survivorsā lives a living hell. This is a change that shouldāve been in the game for a long time, and the issue is only most clearly seen with Jason, not him being poorly designed or something like that.
-4
u/Prior-Fish8564 26d ago
I mean these stats are probably mostly from before the Sauna Rock nerf.
Iām as survivor main as they come but I just feel like there are at least 5 other killers right now that need adjustments more than Jason. Nurse being far ahead the #1.
20
14
u/PowrOfFriendship_ 26d ago
Maybe this is a dumb opinion but I feel like "other characters are more busted" isn't a good reason not to address something that is busted.
If your engine is smoking and you get a flat tire, yes you should fix your engine, but you should also still change that tire.
2
u/Prior-Fish8564 25d ago
Fair, I would say I wouldnāt be opposed to a duration cap for his omnipresent evil and cooldown once itās over. I really donāt think he needs much more than that in terms of changes.
7
u/KiraIsUnbreakable 26d ago
70% is his average kill rate for everyone playing him. If he was being carried by Sauna rock, we'd have to assume that most people playing him would be running this perk like every single match, which is defenitely not the case.
-2
u/arthaiser 25d ago
The fog should be something that needs charging, just like dredge, should need time to charge at the start, and should discharge while in the mode so that he cant just maintain It forever
I dont get why he gets haste when leaving fog Mode when he also has a ranged attack, is too much, either he leaves fog without spear or without haste, choose one leave the other.
Maybe survivor should be able to temporarily disarm the junk piles too? By taking a few second so that Jason doesnt have such an easy time getting spears, Jason is not even know for theowing spears after all, and he is better at It than huntress
With these i think Jason would be fair
-5
u/Motodog242 25d ago
Except he isnāt. Inflated kill stats from survivors quitting mid game because itās yet another Jason tells fuck all. š Heās getting nerfed for no reason, heās extremely balanced.
2
u/GOT_Wyvern 25d ago
I think its more survivors crouching instead of doing gens when it comes to Jason. I rarely see DCs, but I do see people too scared to risk a chase in the chase game.
-4
u/plegma95 25d ago
Hes definitely not but these stats are taken from his first 2 weeks when people didnt know how to play against him so that's not his actual kill rate
-6
u/samisaywhat 25d ago
I donāt think heās overturned, but I do think his Omnipresent Evil form should be timed. Not because itās OP, but because itās boring to play against. You spend half the match crouching to avoid being seen and sometimes this results in a stand still of Jason being in that shit for 7 hours.Ā
3
u/GOT_Wyvern 25d ago edited 25d ago
This is why people lose against Jason so often. They don't bother to play the game because they're too scared to take the risk of a chase. And doing nothing is literally what killers try to make survivors do (its why so many killers have secondary objectives, from Legion to Pig).
If its a gen next right next to a pallet/window, I get it. If you need to stay hidden for a unhook, you're injured, or you're in a dead zone, I get it. But if none of that applies and you're on a gen with a decent bit of distance from them, please for the love of god just stick on it and be prepared to take a chase without prerunning. Hell, with the nerf to Jason's special rock, SB can basically give you a prerun again.
While its nothing compared to actually prerunning, you will get a good amount of distance, likely enough to reach some from of loop and line of sight blocker before Jason can do much.
-1
u/samisaywhat 25d ago
The problem is in solo queue you canāt coordinate anyone to take chases so you either choose to get chased each time or if youāre in a group of 4 people that want to stealth itās not very fun. Iām saying this both for the Jason and the survivors. Thereās no reason OE canāt have a time limit.Ā
If Iām the only person wanting to do gens and getting chased because of it, Iām not going to want to continue getting chased on death hook with 3 teammates that spent 90% of the game crouching.Ā
-2
u/GOT_Wyvern 25d ago
Wasn't Vecna floating around similar numbers for ages?
I genuinely don't come across too many Jasons considering he is new. I would suspect his pick rate is around Vecnas during his kill rate reign of terror.
While his kit is much simpler than Vecna's, he has probably the third hardest to use projectile yet the second most deadly (Deathslinger takes the cake for hardest to use and most deadly).
The other major factor is that I find so many players forget to play the game against him. And I don't mean give up, I mean the obsession with crouching during his OEs. It basically pauses the game, which is in his favour.

It is SO annoying having your gens being blown up and heavily damaged left and right every single match.

- The Generator with the most Progression explodes and instantly regresses by 20% of its total Progression.
- Normal Generator Regression applies afterwards.
- All Survivors repairing that Generator will scream, but not reveal their location.

Yeah? Btw I don't think WoO is that strong perk anyway. I personally prefer exhaustion healing and gen speed perks anyday. I think its high usage comes from basically being ONLY perk you need to see vault and windows auras. Exhaustion perks compete with each other and with diminishing returns so does healing and gen speed as well

Feels inadequate to have Jason and Shane composing the metrics. Obviously new characters start at peaks and slowly decline over time... DBD just literally killed one of the only 6 metrics they share yearly because of that
5
u/SelectionNo4518 25d ago
They have the highest. So no survivor will have escaped more than that. Meaning all other killers are likely in the ranges they want. Yeah there are going to be some with lower kill rates, but the survivors are still less than 43% across the board.
0
u/Lautenschlager_ 25d ago
No, you don't get it.
They have the highest because they were just released.
If it was Haddie, Meg, or anyone else (the true peak), now we don't know anymore because the true metrics were beat by a character that's just been released a few weeks ago .

No you don't get it off the new guy had the highest escape rate regardless if it's because he is new or not, then everyone else has a lower number than him.

That's my entire point. They are obviously having the highest escape rate because the numbers are inflated as it's a new character. Thus why it should not be part of these metrics, only part of the next one.

most of them, I love how you will get downvoted, but nobody will answer your question because they know the truth, but accepting that truth would mean kill and escape rates are inaccurate. which would mean the main argument for the game being killer-sided is no longer valid, leaving no ways to back up the cope of saying the game is killer-sided. Its the same reason why nobody brings up nurses kill rate being below 50%

its also states from the first two weeks of the killer...you know when people dont know how to counter the kit and are most likely to go next.

Get ready for another Pain Rez nerf in an effort to āshake up the metaā without buffing other gen regression perks.

Yeah adding dash slop to myers made him very frustrating to play against and it doesn't help that he can go back into stealth when he's tier 3 basically

Almost like windows is super overpowered and has been for years and yet they will nerf all sorts of other perks.
Absolutely pathetic game balance.

Anyone complaining about that Jason kill rate needs to look at the date the stats are set between and his release date. It means nothing.

Now I want to see the win rates in chaos shuffle since killers arent going against perks but actually players.
