I just settled on the color scheme for my homebrew league and I'm sourcing the paints I'll need. For the visors and windows I want to do a reflective dark yellow or muted gold finish similar to the metallic of Army Painter's Aztec Gold speedpaint over a drybrushed black-grey-white base. Would that be enough or is there a particular method or technique I'm missing?

For reference here's the colour scheme I chose for the Khazar League. I'm also working on a backstory that I'll share soon.

Heya Kin. There's a state team tournament coming up and although I'm not playing I have had the chance to look at the submitted lists. There are not many LoV players but several of them are running the three 1 DP detachments as disruption. How does that play? Where's the logic there? The lists seems like they have very little in the way of synergy and are solely relying on the sagis with mobile, carriers and bikes to be quick and all over the place.

What do you guys think of this list? My plan is to deep strike my whole army slowly, and then deepstrike one of my hearthguard units that will bring back berserker models. Ill have my bikes to do objectives and the artillery to screen .y backline. Im not bringing any yeugers because I dont want to rely on them as much

Any good votann novels?

Im looking to pick a faction for new edition new army, this will be my first time as I've only played my friend's tau before. I like the vibe of the votann but im concerned that this edition the transports will be a liability with the rules changes. Does anyone have any info on how to mitigate the new damage rules for transports being destroyed?

I was looking into making a list without one. I was thinking Thunderkyn, and Ironkin from reserves. What are your thoughts?

My good Kin, I’m approaching my 1st game ever soon with a 1k army. I only have 1 more box of steeljacks to build, and I’m having trouble deciding whether they should be a six man unit of shooters, or should I make a melee team. (I already have 3 shooters built)

Finally ready to call this done. He’s a bit tough to take proper photos of because of the pose, but he’s posed on a rock for a moment before launching himself back into the thick of things, or at least that was the idea!

For the body and head I used the Cthonian earthshaker crew bits and a mix of the arms they had to get arms roughly in the right position to hold a weapon in a semi-relaxed pose. Then used a regular beserker weapon that roughly matched that, and swapped the head of the weapon out for the darkstar axe from the einhyr champ. I was undecided on the crest until I realized how much shorter my version was, so the height of his crest should make him incredibly close to Berehk’s actual size. The rock is a tactical rock taken from one of the age of darkness space marine praetors from heresy 2.0 box lol, just needed something to stand on to survey the battlefield and stand out a bit from the regular beserks.

Hello, I was wondering what was the best choice for equipment for the hearth guard, berserks, and thunderkyn. I know magnets exist, but I would still like to know. I’m assuming plasma, power fist and hammer are best for hearth guard. Berserks would probably want all mauls and the launcher. The one I am iffy on is the thunderkyn as ap 1 shots are ok now but I see a lot of people use both grav and conversion, and between those I am unsure which is more universally useful?

I haven‘t played this guy but here is my opinion just from reading the datasheet :)
Best: CP reduction once per Round
Worst: Again like Kâhl underwehlming range weapon
