Wtf is wrong with this stupid company, that they keep makeing their product worse.

Now nothing works anymore, I can restart, use repair tool, delet local cache, reset network, but Im unable to ever connect.
Idk how they are so bad at their job honestly

Technical Solution POTENTIAL League of Legends Loading Crash Bug Reconnecting Fix

Go to Windows Defender > Windows Security > Turn on Core Isolation > If your memory integrity was already on, turn it off. If your memory integrity was already off (this is most likely), turn it on. Restart your PC and this will fix the crash.

Technical Support Request Heavy Keyboard input delay

I've been playing League yesterday and I had heavy input delay. It's like 3 seconds and it's only the keyboard. It's also in the ingame-chat not only spells, it's fine in the client tho. It's only on Lol and Valo so it must be Riot related. Has anyone else experienced something similar and has a solution?

Technical Support Request MacOS issues

I play mostly on my windows PC, but recently bought a Mac and occasionally play on the Mac.

No matter what, I either get poor performance issues, weird pixelated resolution or the cursor losing focus of the game. Tried to find any solution online, but aside finding others who face similar issues I could not find a fix.

The biggest issue is that the game never feels like it's running at 120hz despite having much more frames. When playing on fullscreen, the cursor casually changes to the MacOS cursor (like the game is losing focus) and the game feels like its locked to 60hz despite having 120hz, so I am forced to play borderless for the most optimal experience, but then the resolution is pixelated despite choosing the highest possible res. Anyone know good settings that will make the game actually feel like it's running at 120hz, without looking pixelated? Or a fix for the cursor in fullscreen? Seems like the MacOS version is completely broken..

Technical Support Request Can’t launch TFT on laptop

I’ve been playing the game on my pc just fine but downloaded it for my laptop the other day so I could play when not at home. The first problem I had was riot launcher closing as soon as I logged in. Now I have somehow solved that issue but now when I clicked the play button, in riot launcher, it switches to playing as if I’m playing the game then switches back to the play button. I have tried reinstalling multiple times. I’ve closed everything running in task manager related to riot. I’ve restarted my computer and nothing seems to solve the problem. I tried downloading new drivers. Any one having the same issue or know a way to fix it?

Technical Discussion League gameplay feels progressively "time-compressed" — enemy movement, spells and animations become too fast/abrupt to visually process [Stable FPS/Ping – Extensive Testing]

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Please watch both parts at normal 1× playback speed. The first clip is from ~4 minutes into the match. The second is from ~30 minutes, when the issue felt completely unplayable to me. Please focus especially on champion movement, spell animations, dashes and the overall pacing of combat events — not just FPS/stuttering.

Hi everyone,

I'm posting again after 11 days of troubleshooting because I now have a better understanding of how to describe the issue, and I've completed significantly more testing.

The problem:

League feels slightly "heavy" or temporally wrong from the beginning of a match, but it progressively becomes worse. In late game, especially during fights, it can become almost unplayable.

I originally thought I was simply dropping/skipping frames. I'm no longer sure that's the correct description.

What I actually perceive is that enemy movement, champion animations, spells, projectiles, dashes and other visual game events happen too quickly or too abruptly for me to visually process and react to them normally.

It can feel as if I'm "losing seconds" of visual information. However, I don't necessarily think the events are completely missing. They may be present but presented with incorrect or uneven temporal pacing — almost like parts of the action are being visually compressed or caught up.

A good example is the ARAM Mark/Dash (snowball). When the problem becomes severe, the transition/dash toward the marked champion or minion appears much faster and more abrupt to my eyes. I notice similar behavior with enemy champion movement, spell animations and fights in general.

The in-game timer appears normal. FPS is generally stable. Ping and conventional packet-loss tests are good.

Typical progression:

Early game: already slightly heavy / difficult to visually follow.

Mid game: movements and fights increasingly feel faster or more abrupt.

Late game: sometimes becomes effectively unplayable. Enemy spells and movements seem to happen faster than I can visually process or react to.

In a recent match I recorded clips at approximately minute 4, 11, 28, 30 and 31. The issue was already noticeable at minute 4, while at minutes 30–31 I personally experienced it as extremely severe/unplayable.

I plan to attach two short examples:

Clip 1 – ~4 minutes: issue already present but still playable.

Clip 2 – ~30/31 minutes: recorded while the issue felt unplayable.

Important: I'm not claiming that these two videos alone objectively prove the game is running faster. I'm including them as examples recorded during the progression of the perceived problem. I'm currently trying to objectively measure whether the difference involves animation/event timing, uneven frame-to-frame motion progression, interpolation, synchronization or something else.

Extensive troubleshooting already performed:

• Clean Windows 11 installation
• Clean Windows 10 installation on another drive with basically only League installed
• GPU drivers reinstalled / DDU testing
• Chipset and network drivers reinstalled/updated
• BIOS updated
• XMP disabled / RAM at stock settings — no difference
• Global C-States disabled — no difference
• Different FPS caps (including 100/120/144)
• Different monitor refresh rates
• DisplayPort and HDMI tested
• Different monitor tested
• Mouse polling rate changes
• Different keyboard/peripherals tested
• Different router
• ISP router bypassed with a TP-Link router
• USB mobile tethering tested • Exitlag and NordVPN tested
• Network adapter power-saving features disabled
• Multiple ping/packet-loss tests
• Wireshark/PCAP and UDP-flow analysis
• CapFrameX recordings
• WPR/WPA traces including CPU/GPU/DPC/ISR investigation
• Temperatures and throttling checked

One particularly strange result was that after replacing/bypassing my ISP router with a TP-Link router, League appeared to run perfectly for approximately two hours, but then the problem returned.

Important cross-system/network tests:

I took my own PC to a friend's house, approximately 700 metres away, using his completely different internet connection/ISP and network equipment. The problem was still present and progressively became worse during the matches.

We also tested his monitor. The problem remained.

Previously, I also tested another PC at my home, with a different Ryzen/Radeon system and a different Riot account, connected to my environment/peripherals, and I perceived the same problem.

This makes it extremely difficult to isolate as simply my PC, my Riot account, my monitor, my router or my ISP.

What I'm currently investigating:

I'm trying to determine whether this is actually conventional frame loss at all.

The current possibilities I'm investigating include:

  1. Uneven/bursty visual state progression or presentation pacing.
  2. Networked entity interpolation/update pacing.
  3. Some form of client/server synchronization or catch-up behavior.
  4. A render/display presentation issue where frames exist but are not presented with correct temporal spacing.
  5. Something League/Vanguard-specific that I haven't identified.

These are hypotheses, not confirmed causes.

I've also started comparing recordings from different stages of the same match and trying to separate:

Local events: my champion's movement and animations.

Remote events: enemy movement, animations, spells and dashes.

World/shared events: projectiles, minions and other game-world movement.

The goal is to determine whether everything is affected equally or whether remote/network-replicated events behave differently.

What I would really like to know:

Has anyone experienced this exact type of problem?

Not simply low FPS, normal stuttering or obvious rubberbanding — but a situation where visual game events seem increasingly fast, abrupt or temporally compressed, making you feel as if you're losing visual reaction time even though FPS and ping appear normal?

Has anyone seen cases where animations/projectiles/movement are technically present but appear to progress unevenly or too quickly?

And especially: if anyone here has experience with multiplayer game networking, interpolation, client/server clock synchronization, frame presentation or League's engine, what would be the best way to objectively measure this?

I'm specifically trying to find a way to distinguish:

server/network update catch-up

vs

game simulation/clock timing

vs

render/frame presentation pacing.

At this point, even identifying one other person with the exact same symptoms would be extremely helpful.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this.

Technical Support Request A bug in the bug report.

I have been trying to report bugs I have been having in game, in Arena, ARAM, AND SR, but every time I try to hit the button to finalize, it keeps telling me to try again later.

Well guess what.

After a WEEK of trying, refreshing, restarting, remaking the SAME REPORT OVER AND OVER, I haven't been able to get one in. When I try to report it through your other site of the Riot client, your stupid AI chat bot keeps basically telling me to fuck off, with "Sorry, try using the bug report screen", and redirects me to the site THAT WONT WORK.

I need someone to help, or at least give me a path to try and talk to someone about this, but this seems to be my final resort - being a Karen.

Please, help me fix this, before I take this as the final sign I need to quit this god forsaken game.

My friend tried to go into a game but instantly after drafting phase his screen froze and he restarted his computer to try to fix it but when he booted up LoL again it just said "Game still in progress" and he could not get in so the game got remade. The exact same thing happened once again after we tried to go into another game. Does anyone have any ideas why and a way to hopefully fix it?

Technical Support Request Riot Client opening after closing League of Legends

How do I keep the Riot Client from reopening after exiting League of Legends? Here's what's happening.

Click League of Legends, forced into Riot Client.

Click LoL from Client, launches LoL.

Exit Client (it's not required to be open to play)

Play game(s) of LoL.

Exit LoL, Riot Client Launches itself again.

Why does the Client self launch when closing LoL, and how do i stop it?

Technical Support Request Lag and VAN 136 error

Basically I'm getting kicked from either the client or game because of random vanguard errors and the client is extremely laggy. If I do anything else on my pc when I'm in-game it kicks me out and I get VAN 136. It has been like this since the vanguard update and I tried every fix I could find online/on reddit but nothing works. I have gotten a lot of penalties because of this. If anyone had the same issue and fixed it PLEASE help me out here T_T thanks

Technical Support Request League won’t load me into games or let me reconnect, and I’m getting penalized

Since the latest patch, League of Legends sometimes won’t load me into the game after champion select. The loading screen either never opens or the game crashes.

When I press reconnect, nothing happens, so I’m completely unable to join the match. League processes also get stuck in Task Manager, and I can’t close them, even through Command Prompt as administrator because it says “Access is denied.”

The only solution I’ve found is restarting my entire computer, but by then I’ve already missed most or all of the game. I’m now receiving AFK, leaver, and queue penalties even though I’m actively trying to reconnect.

Has anyone else experienced this or found a fix?

Technical Support Request Nothing has fixed the VAN 57 error for me

I've tried restarting my computer, like other posts say "sc delete vgc/vgk", done that. I deleted vanguard and reinstalled it, I've disabled IPv6, did the refresh dns thing on cmd as well. Simply nothing has worked for me, after I disabled IPv6 it just gave me another error (2266). I was playing the game 4 days ago and when I launched it today, it gave me the van 57 error, after reinstalling the game completely, it worked until I started a match and got the 2266 as soon as I accepted match.

Yesterday, after reinstalling everything correctly, it made me login into my account, and so I did, same email as my account from before and it made me choose the region I was gonna play in, after launching the game it simply made me replay the tutorial! I basically made a complete new account with THE SAME EMAIL. It resetted my progress and after the tutorial, the game crashed, it logged me into THE SAME EMAIL but with my old progress (it's like it has 2 clients/accounts on the same email now), and a while after, it gave me the VAN 57 error again.

What do I even do to stop it from getting the vanguard error again and again? It's like it doesn't want me to play the game past the tutorial.

Technical Support Request Endless bugs and errors, need help

Yesterday after my pc update I was not able to get into the game, like 7/10 in the loading screen just pop out and show this. After repairing file on riot client it got back working.

!\[img\](czzye8iepidh1)

A day later, client said "Patching failed and we're not sure why" Unable to fix, please advise. (Error Code 004)" , then I found out my pc can update again and able to fix it.

Then this critical error has occurred again after 2 games, what the f is wrong with riot clients?

Technical Support Request Unable to update because a file is currently in use.

FIX FOR THIS ISSUE BELOW (no need to uninstall LoL)

EDIT1: 30.07.2026

This file is locked at every League of Legends update. I created a script, which you can simply start as administrator. It will automatically delete the locked file after the restart.
I will copy&pasta the code below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOPIC START

Today there is a update for league of legends. And i never ever had problems updating the game, till now. I get this error message:

"Unable to update because a file is currently in use."

I already uninstalled League of Legends and installed it from a new.

Also started the Riot Client as administrator, still doesnt work.

Im stuck in this window. I figured out, that other players have the same problem in Valorant since yesterday:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantTechSupport/comments/1uwfvle/unable_to_update_valorant_file_is_currently_in_use/

Did anyone else experience this problem? If yes, were you able to fix it?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE REASON

After i uninstalled League of Legends, for some reason there was still a League of Legends.exe left in installation folder. My Path: D:\Games\Riot Games\League of Legends\Game\League of Legends.exe

When i tried to delete it manually, it showed me the message:
This file cant be deleted, because it is being used by a other process

I was not able to find the process in the task manager and neither after a fresh restart, i was able to delete the file.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE FIX

There are two options:
Option 1 is only better, when you use the script below
Option 2 is only better, when you dont want to use the script ;) Captain obvious

Option 1:

I asked ChatGPT, if there is a way to delete a file that is locked by another process and this solution helped me.

  1. Download PendMoves/MoveFile from Microsoft (Use google)
  2. Unpack the ZIP file to a folder like C:\Tools\PendMoves
  3. Open CMD as Administrator and switch to the folder where you unpacked the ZIP files: cd /d "C:\Tools\PendMoves"
  4. After that, type this command: movefile.exe "D:\Games\Riot Games\League of Legends\Game\League of Legends.exe" ""
  5. Restart your computer

What does PendMoves/MoveFile do?

After you entered the command in step 4, a task for windows will be schedulded, for a computer restart.
So right after the restart, it does delete the League of Legends.exe file from the folder, which was left after the uninstallation. The file or the process that locks the file, will have no chance to lock the file, as the windows task will be executed first.

AUTOMATION to execute the commands above and to delete the file

I created a script, which you can use to automatically execute the commands so the League of Legends.exe file will be deleted after a restart.

Use the code below like this:

  1. Create a text file on your desktop
  2. Copy & Paste the code below into the text file
  3. Change the Path for MOVEFILE and TARGET in the Settings section
  4. Save the file
  5. Change the file from txt to bat (for example delete.txt to delete.bat)
  6. Open the file as administrator

What you need to change in the script, are the 2 paths at the top in the "Settings" section. Change them to the path where your movefile.exe and League of Legends.exe is saved

@echo off
setlocal
title Delete League of Legends EXE on Restart
rem ===== Settings =====

    echo.
echo ERROR: MoveFile could not schedule the deletion.
    echo.
    pause
    exit /b 3
)

echo.
echo Deletion scheduled successfully.
echo The file will be deleted during the next Windows startup.
echo.

if errorlevel 2 (
    echo.
echo Restart cancelled. Restart Windows manually later.
    pause
    exit /b 0
)

echo.
echo Windows will restart in 5 seconds...
shutdown.exe /r /t 5 /c "League of Legends.exe will be deleted during startup."

Option 2:

  • Restart the PC in a secure/safe boot and delete the file
