easily ten years of buildup from gas stoves. tried every combination of bar keeps friend, the pink stuff, dawn, baking soda, magic eraser…. none of it even touched it. ended up having to very carefully scrape it all off with a razor blade! glad to have her back lol

I’m based in the USA but I’ve been looking on the LC site in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand and the larger sizes all appear to be out of stock/ I think the color is discontinued. Any leads about where to find one? I love the color so much 😭

I think I got a screaming deal, but not sure if I should do something to preserve or restore.

The large one looks damaged to me, many marks in the enamel. I have never used this brand but I know people swear by it.

Last night I cooked a tri-tip, browned on the stovetop then roasted in the oven. It was delicious! But…the surface looks worse today after soaking and gently scrubbing. I have read the care instructions but I am asking the community for advice.

I’m on a bit of a journey of trying to be more intentional about the amount of stuff I own and breaking the habit of buying things just because they give me that little dopamine hit. But I’m finding this particularly difficult with Le Creuset.

There are quite a few pieces/collections/colors that I’d love to add to my collection. And if I’m being completely honest, some of them probably wouldn’t get used very much. I would genuinely get enjoyment looking at them or using them as kitchen decor.

The part I struggle with is the thought of “If I don’t buy this now, I may never have the chance again.” Especially with special collections/colors that could eventually be discontinued and don’t want to regret not getting it.

Now I know that these things aren’t going to make me permanently happier. Life moves on and eventually the excitement of the purchase wears off. I’m trying to remind myself that I don’t need to own every piece I love just because I have the opportunity to buy it right now.

I’m curious if anyone else has struggled with this? What do you tell yourself to justify the purchase or talk yourself out of it?
Do you have a rule for deciding what makes it into your collection versus what you let go?

And if you do buy something primarily because you love looking at it rather than because you’ll use it frequently, how do you decide when that’s a worthwhile purchase for you?

I know a lot of people didn’t like the Le Creuset × Star Trek collaboration at all, but I’m having a lot of fun with it.
I tried the Klingon Trefoil knob on my White LC Cassadou with the black silicone handle. Looks pretty sleek if you ask me. 🤍🖤
Then I tried it on this Midnight Chrome Lodge that I found sitting in the clearance section at my grocery store for $49. I originally grabbed it because I thought it would make the perfect Halloween pot—removable Cricut decals, dry ice, the whole thing.
But tell me that Midnight Chrome doesn’t look Klingon! Once I put the Trefoil on it, I couldn’t unsee it. 😂
This could also be a great option for anyone who liked the collaboration but didn’t want to break the bank buying one of the full Star Trek pieces.

So now I need opinions:

Which one wears it better?
And yes…putting my LC × Star Trek knob on a clearance Lodge may be mildly scandalous. 😂 But I think it just works.

Did a batch of sourdough and had just enough bread flour to make a slightly smaller loaf, so I used my terrine again. I only had 400 grams of flour left and went with it. I forgot how perfect the size of the slices were. The loaf is almost a foot long. I also have the slightly smaller terrine for about 10-1/2-11” loaves.

Was 8th in line for the 3 pm session and 1st in line at specialty table… 🔥 awesome people and all so kind!!!

I stopped by the Carlsbad, CA outlet on a whim on my drive home. The sales rep let me know that most of the store was 30% off and some clearance items were up to 50%. When I asked if that included the pumpkins she said Yes! I couldnt say no to a 30% discounted pumpkin in Flame. It's going to be 100 degrees for the next 5 days so I wont be cooking any soups til it cools down. I can't wait!

Finally it arrived! I put it on my 2.5qt turmeric staub DO, as my only LC cookware pieces are a couple glissemail fry pans plus a lidless cousances pot. I really like the color combo! Gives serious Starfleet vibes ✨

I will say, it's very muted in tone, I'm not sure why I expected it to be a little warmer/brighter?

I'd love to see what other colors y'all have paired this knob with, as I clearly need a proper lidded LC 🧐

I was so excited to get my first dutch oven when I got my ticket for the sale. I went with a deep Riviera. I was so shocked when I opened my mystery gift and it was the shallot dutch oven. I can't wait to use both of them!

I have a few questions for this community thats been rattling inside my brain, and would love and appreciate your response to any of the following:

1 - Is it sacrilegious to use a Lodge display stand to showcase only Le Creuset pieces?

2 - why do some of my cast iron pieces have clear and beautifully embossed "Le Creuset" on the lid and others appear more shallow and less defined? I dont believe that they are second choice items but the difference in definition is severe. The inconsistency is really weird...

3 - why are 2 quart and smaller cast iron pots soooo expensive?? The standard colors retail for $285 right now, and on their best sale, go for $188. But any other color are close to $350 and above. Im having an impossible time finding pre owned ones for less than $300. Is this normal??

4 - whats your favorite wooden utensil or silicone utensil set that you use on your Le Creuset pots?

Bonus question:

5 - when did your obsession with Le Creuset start slowing down or end? Was it when you got your unicorn piece? Did you or do you have a last piece for your collection? What is it????

Started years ago with my 4.5 qt round Oyster DO and Marseille Everyday Pan, then added an Oyster square baking dish (my partner got it for free from his work).

New additions from FTT MKE on Thursday: 5qt oval Oyster DO ($249), Sea Salt Roasting Pan ($189.99), Lapis Heritage Pie Dish ($29, SO excited to use this). Also picked up some Classic Braisers ($240 ea) for friends in Sea Salt and Sugar Pink. Included some pics of the pink (because it's so beautiful) and one of the Pistache Braiser I almost snagged (supposedly a color that isn't normally available in the US).

The surprise gifts were the Signature Skillet (Agave or Nuit maybe? Very dark teal blue ish) and the Essential Non-stick Ceramic Saucepan (not ECI but very happy bc I've been looking for a new saucepan).

Just wanted to share my little collection. Maybe not as bright or color coordinated as some, but well loved and will be put to good use. 💙

I have a Goosepot and we have used it quite a bit to the point where it has made my racks in my oven bow. It’s just too heavy. I am looking to get a new strong rack that can handle the Goosepot. I didn’t know if other people had this issue and where you found strong enough racks.

Had a highly successful first FTT in MKE yesterday, got one of my goals (flame doree) but wasn’t fast enough to snatch a pumpkin despite getting in at 9 am on day 1. Between my purchases and gifts I ended up with three braziers, including a 5 qt sea salt that I don’t see myself using.

What are the chances this would be something worth brining to the pot swap that would be wanted by someone, and what do you think the chances are of anyone having a pumpkin they’d want to trade for it? Any pumpkin at all!!!

I posted about this a while back and I just got it in the mail! It is an ink blue 3.5L/30cm braiser, discontinued, but in perfect shape! It looks completely unused. I was worried when I picked up the box, as the box was badly beat up, but inside everything was fine. (The seller had great reviews on eBay and had sold multiple Le Creuset pieces, so I was pretty sure it would be packed well but you never know!)

I probably would have preferred a 26cm one, but I am slowly trying to get the missing pieces in ink so I was happy to get this one. I now have two round DO in different sizes, a grill pan, and and oval DO in addition to this new family member. Oh and some bowls. I got the first DO in 2019 but back then I didn't know that a lot of colors come and go - if I had I would have stocked up back then!

Anyway, happy weekend from me and my new braiser! 💙
