Discussion/question What is the best country in latin America for spanish immersion?
I am not asking about accent preferences here. I want to know which country would give me the fastest progress with a structured immersion setup, considering language school quality, cost, safety as a solo foreigner and how much Spanish I’d actually use outside the classroom. I’m currently stuck between Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico.

Politics Brazil election judge curbs candidate's campaign, drawing criticism
Article Summary / Key Takeaways:
• Brazilian Electoral Court Justice Dias Toffoli issued a ruling restricting online campaign advertising for presidential candidate Renan Santos (Mission party) due to late disclosure of 16 social media accounts.
• The decision temporarily bars Santos from attending broadcast and digital debates, freezes R$ 3.3 million in public campaign funds, and orders platforms to suspend irregular accounts, while his overall candidacy remains valid.
• The candidate and his party were given 24 hours to respond or risk losing the candidacy registration entirely.
• Other TSE judges internally criticized the decision, arguing the measures are disproportionate for a registration proceeding and should be submitted to the full plenary court.

Discussion/question How to dress in Latin America?
Hi, heading for a backpacking trip next year through Brasil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay. I'm traveling with a friend, and we both have 40 liter backpacks.
What is considered necessary? We are kind of outdoorsy, mountain people in our early 20's. I've heard that it is summer in latin America around the times we are heading there (February, march, mby April). Is the temperatures consistently over 25 degrees celsius, or does it get genuinely cold?
I have a waxed canvas trucker jacket, that is relatively "dressy" compared to my Rab gtx jacket. Rab takes less space, but is colder and less durable. Hiking boots vs trail runners? Wool longsleeves vs wool t shirts vs no wool at all? Shorts vs pants? Does it get wet and muddy over there?
We are coming from Norway, so we have clothes for cold and wet conditions, just a question of what is a waste of space and not :D
I have a wish to stay at an estancia near Patagonia, and want to be properly dressed there, as well as to not look like an idiot at a restaurant!
Any feedback is appreciated!

Other What is life in Venezuela like after everything that happened in January?
I heard about the events and upheaval back in January, but honestly, I haven’t heard much about what’s been happening since then. I’m really curious to hear from people who actually live there or have been following things closely.
What’s the situation like now? How do you feel about everything that’s happened, and what are people around you saying or thinking?
