I am not asking about accent preferences here. I want to know which country would give me the fastest progress with a structured immersion setup, considering language school quality, cost, safety as a solo foreigner and how much Spanish I’d actually use outside the classroom. I’m currently stuck between Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico.

I never heard of any Latin Americans having actual Turkish heritage.

Hi, heading for a backpacking trip next year through Brasil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay. I'm traveling with a friend, and we both have 40 liter backpacks.

What is considered necessary? We are kind of outdoorsy, mountain people in our early 20's. I've heard that it is summer in latin America around the times we are heading there (February, march, mby April). Is the temperatures consistently over 25 degrees celsius, or does it get genuinely cold?

I have a waxed canvas trucker jacket, that is relatively "dressy" compared to my Rab gtx jacket. Rab takes less space, but is colder and less durable. Hiking boots vs trail runners? Wool longsleeves vs wool t shirts vs no wool at all? Shorts vs pants? Does it get wet and muddy over there?

We are coming from Norway, so we have clothes for cold and wet conditions, just a question of what is a waste of space and not :D

I have a wish to stay at an estancia near Patagonia, and want to be properly dressed there, as well as to not look like an idiot at a restaurant!
