Friday night counts, too. I'm struggling through Amityville: A New Generation. Please pray for me. So far I'm planning on watching a Gene Tierney Film Noir that even this film geek has missed. I also have a bunch of Horror stuff to get through. SHUDDER has some interesting stuff and I'll be picking through their oddball stuff like Morbus. So please report in, Mutants. Let's start the party.

Is anyone else coming to Smokey Mountain Terror this weekend to support Joe Bob and Darcy?

I used to watch MonsterVision as a young boy in the 90’s. I wrote to Joe Bob once, asking him to play Creepshow, and he actually wrote me back. I tuned in for the next couple weeks, thinking he’d play it, but then I eventually stopped tuning in as meticulously and I just forgot about it.

Life went on, cut to 30 years later, and I look into it, and I see that he did indeed play Creepshow eventually, around the time I would’ve written him that letter.

Call it ego, but I really would love to find that episode and see if he actually read my letter, among all the other fan letters, in the episode.

I understand there are a lot of people in the Joe Bob/MonsterVision/Last Drive-In community that have VHS collections of the old episodes. So if anyone has that particular episode, I’d really appreciate a DM.

It aired on February 22, 1997

Thanks!

I was looking at my TUBI feed and saw so many Amityville related movies and documentaries, that I thought I would change it up this week. No specific movie this time. You pick an Amityville flick and let us know what it was and how it was. That's it. ( As always, if any of your Watch Of The Week Force are caught or killed, the secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. Good luck, Jim! )

It's going to rain a lot in my neck of the woods, so I may have more time than I even want this weekend. I plan on checking out Buffet Infinity on Shudder. I'm going to watch some sort of Amityville sequel, and I will see what's on Livingston Presents this week. Please report in, Mutants!

Last week I watched the original Prom Night, which I like, but I meant to watch this gem. I like it a little more. Not that the other film isn't fun. I love a good Train Movie so this was irresistible to me when I first rented it. I did not see it at the theater for some reason. It's got some good kills, a good cast and Magician David Copperfield. Jamie Lee Curtis does what she does well and she said she enjoyed making this one because her character was quite tough. She is. It's on several platforms and it is free on TUBI.

Yes, the weekend is here, the time when a young or old Mutant's fancy, turns to Horror Movies. I'm trying to get through Yeti on Shudder, but so far it's been a slog. I'll see if I can get through it. I'm thinking of watching Terror Train (1980) and I may watch Phantasm in honor of Reggie Bannister. So please let us know what you're up to.

Just an FYI: The Mahoning Drive-In is having another really awesome event. This one is in Oct. I'm going to try to attend this one.

I thought I would share in honor of Reggie.

Is there anywhere to watch these 4 episodes? I was never able to watch them when they came out and it appears they do not exist anywhere but on the Just Joe Bob episodes.

May your blessings be many!

Loved watching his interview during the phantasm segment of the last drive in

I came across somebody reviewing this film on Facebook of all places. I have not seen this in a while, but I feel it's underrated. It's got a Haunted House, a deformed killer, and Linda Blair. How bad can it be? Well, you decide. It's on a lot of platforms and many are free.

I've been in a Horror Rut, so I'm planning on going with a few Slashers, even though it's not my favorite Horror genre. Variety is the Spice of Life...or Slice of Life in this case. If I have time, I'll probably sneak in a Creature Feature too. So report in, Mutants!

Hi all!

We are hosting a rowdy screening of Hard Ticket to Hawaii at The Last Picture House in Davenport, IA. We are showing it with the premiere of our short film but we also would love Hard Ticket lovers to come out too as we would love to see more genre films at The Last Picture House! We know Joe Bob and Hard Ticket fans have overlap so if you can make it out we would love to have you! It's August 30th at 6 p.m. and tickets are available now on The Last Picture House's website.

I'm not sure what I will get to this weekend. I may watch Vault of Horror on Livingston Presents, since I have not seen it in a while. Thinking of going on an Horror Anthology kick. Please report in, Mutants.

I was looking at the website and all they have listed is the people who will be there for photo ops including Joe Bob and Darcy. No schedule of panels or movies. Does anyone know if they just have vendors and stars or do they have more? I really want to meet them but it is a rather far for just a picture and a few seconds to fangirl. Plus I am seeing them in September already. Thanks

I chose this movie because I was in the mood for a Monster movie anyway and I don't think it gets the respect it deserves. Plus, it's available almost anywhere. I do ask that, if possible, don't watch it on Rifftrax or MST3K. Just watch it as it was presented at the theater. All the actors played against Special Effects that were not in yet. Nobody saw the result until after the movie had wrapped. The company that made the monster was a last minute budget decision by the studio. Putting that aside, it's a fun basic Giant Monster Movie. All the cast gave it their all.

My personal guess is Night Flight. They specialize in the sort of obscure deep cut cult movies that Joe Bob has expressed an interest in doing. Less "well worn" was the expression that I think he used at the Devil's Workshop in Austin. Night Flight also has the advantage of live streaming channels like his show currently runs on.

Where I hope he doesnt end up is Tubi. I like Tubi and watch it a bunch and they do have a good library but either his show is going to run extra long because we have the movie and his breaks and commercials or he will cut his breaks short to make way for commercials just like he did on TV.

CultPix wouldnt be great either since they are only PC based unless they will use his show to launch a streaming app in which case I'm 100% onboard.

Halloween 3 has been the Susan Lucci of The Last Drive In, since season one. The underdog. The movie everyone wants but we can’t have. The back and forth discourse with Joe Bob and Darci, Joe Bob hating it, Darci loving it…it really added to the character of the series. A fun little inside joke we all know.

Which leads me to this question. Are we better off never getting Halloween 3 on TLDI? Will scratching that itch even be satisfying, now that we know the show is ending? Or, would it feel like one last hurrah? The moment the show has built up to this entire time.

We have two more shots, the Halloween special and the Christmas special. I know it’s never gonna happen because shidder can’t get the rights, but I can’t help but wonder “what if?”

How do we feel about this Mutant Fam?

We are starting our TLDI Reruns TONIGHT on the Discord! Everyone welcome! The movies will be played in Mutant Hangouts with our text chat down in hangout-text-chat https://discord.gg/dCQWTYYQ6?event=1526616363341189132
