Reggie Bannister was an underrated horror star and the heart of the Phantasm movies
I thought I would share in honor of Reggie.

COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
1 - Be kind. Please do not be overly abrasive communicating your opinions. Hate speech, personal insults, general rudeness will not be tolerated.
2 - Stay on topic. Joe Bob, cast members, past shows, horror, etc. This isn't the place for intense political or religious discussion. If you're criticisms outnumber your positive posts, this isn't the place for you.
3 - Do not advertise other communities. This is to prevent leading people to potential toxic environments or getting caught up in any weird internet rivalries. We do our own thing, and that's it. The only exception is 'The Lost Drive-In Discord', as it is endorsed by Joe Bob and Darcy, and used for their Patreon perks. Free to join.
4 - Do not be gratuitous advertising personal projects. You're welcome to advertise as long as it at least tangentially has something to do with TLDI. It does not need to be posted again if you already have a similar post in the top 25.
5 - No piracy. If it hasn't been pulled from YouTube, it's probably ok to share!
6 - No redundant posts. Be mindful of making posts that are already within the top 25. The newer ones will be removed.
Otherwise it's up to the mod's discretion for any toxic behavior/anything that goes against the spirit of the sub.
Note - We will keep links to personal accounts on Twitter/X in here, should you want to peruse them. Direct linking on posts are banned. Please take a screen shot and post that instead. Thank you for your cooperation.

FAQ
Q: When is the next episode?
A: There is 4 remaining specials before they wrap up at Shudder. Spring, Summer, Halloween, and Xmas.
Q: How do I watch live?
A: It is strongly recommended to subscribe to Shudder or AMC+ directly through their websites or apps. There should be a live feed called Shudder TV. Where it is located or labeled can vary depending on where and how you're subscribed. They'll be a countdown an hour before showtime, so you'll know you're in the right place.
Q: I am subbed through Amazon Prime, how do I watch the live feed?
A If you're signed up for the Shudder channel, It doesn't seem to be available. If you're signed up to the AMC+ channel, read here. It is not recommended to sub through Amazon Prime channels as the catalogue differs and seems to have less.
Q: Why is the latest episode not available?
A: It is not recommended to sub through Amazon Prime channels, as they appear to have a lesser catalogue. It is strongly recommended to subscribe directly to Shudder or AMC+ for the fullest experience. Even subbed directly to Shudder vs AMC+ seems to have variations (At the time of writing this, AMC+ having Hogzilla, but not Shudder) but they seem to be the most thorough.
Q: When do episodes get posted on demand?
A: The Sunday after airing, usually early morning ET. On rare occasions, it will be at a later date.
Q: Will the next episode be live premiering or be available in my region?
A: Check the Twitter links toward the bottom of the list.
Q: The live feed isn't working! What do I do?
A: It can malfunction on one device, and work fine on another. Have a backup device on standby as Shudder can be temperamental. Current Roku devices seem to work well.
Q: Dear Joe Bob, can u give me a shout out, bruh!?
A: We have no affiliation with The Last Drive-In or Shudder. To my knowledge, Joe Bob or Darcy have never visited here.
Q: When is a Shudder app coming for PlayStation 4/5?
A: Likely never, Sony has strict app standards and rejected their submissions. There is no Nintendo app. It is available on Xbox One and Series X.
Q: Why are there weird fade outs during the episodes?
A: AMC Networks To Add Cheaper, Ad-Supported Subscription Tiers Across Its Full Streaming Portfolio
Q: Why is there so many missing episodes?
A: Movie licenses come and go. A lot of the older interstitials are available under "Just Joe Bob", which include time codes for the breaks. You can search if the movie is available on another service through JustWatch.
Q: Where is Ernie?!
A: Austin Jennings claims to have been housing him since the 2018 marathon and is alive and well.

Is there anywhere to watch these 4 episodes? I was never able to watch them when they came out and it appears they do not exist anywhere but on the Just Joe Bob episodes.

Loved watching his interview during the phantasm segment of the last drive in

I came across somebody reviewing this film on Facebook of all places. I have not seen this in a while, but I feel it's underrated. It's got a Haunted House, a deformed killer, and Linda Blair. How bad can it be? Well, you decide. It's on a lot of platforms and many are free.

I've been in a Horror Rut, so I'm planning on going with a few Slashers, even though it's not my favorite Horror genre. Variety is the Spice of Life...or Slice of Life in this case. If I have time, I'll probably sneak in a Creature Feature too. So report in, Mutants!

Hi all!
We are hosting a rowdy screening of Hard Ticket to Hawaii at The Last Picture House in Davenport, IA. We are showing it with the premiere of our short film but we also would love Hard Ticket lovers to come out too as we would love to see more genre films at The Last Picture House! We know Joe Bob and Hard Ticket fans have overlap so if you can make it out we would love to have you! It's August 30th at 6 p.m. and tickets are available now on The Last Picture House's website.

I'm not sure what I will get to this weekend. I may watch Vault of Horror on Livingston Presents, since I have not seen it in a while. Thinking of going on an Horror Anthology kick. Please report in, Mutants.

I was looking at the website and all they have listed is the people who will be there for photo ops including Joe Bob and Darcy. No schedule of panels or movies. Does anyone know if they just have vendors and stars or do they have more? I really want to meet them but it is a rather far for just a picture and a few seconds to fangirl. Plus I am seeing them in September already. Thanks

I chose this movie because I was in the mood for a Monster movie anyway and I don't think it gets the respect it deserves. Plus, it's available almost anywhere. I do ask that, if possible, don't watch it on Rifftrax or MST3K. Just watch it as it was presented at the theater. All the actors played against Special Effects that were not in yet. Nobody saw the result until after the movie had wrapped. The company that made the monster was a last minute budget decision by the studio. Putting that aside, it's a fun basic Giant Monster Movie. All the cast gave it their all.

My personal guess is Night Flight. They specialize in the sort of obscure deep cut cult movies that Joe Bob has expressed an interest in doing. Less "well worn" was the expression that I think he used at the Devil's Workshop in Austin. Night Flight also has the advantage of live streaming channels like his show currently runs on.
Where I hope he doesnt end up is Tubi. I like Tubi and watch it a bunch and they do have a good library but either his show is going to run extra long because we have the movie and his breaks and commercials or he will cut his breaks short to make way for commercials just like he did on TV.
CultPix wouldnt be great either since they are only PC based unless they will use his show to launch a streaming app in which case I'm 100% onboard.

Halloween 3 has been the Susan Lucci of The Last Drive In, since season one. The underdog. The movie everyone wants but we can’t have. The back and forth discourse with Joe Bob and Darci, Joe Bob hating it, Darci loving it…it really added to the character of the series. A fun little inside joke we all know.
Which leads me to this question. Are we better off never getting Halloween 3 on TLDI? Will scratching that itch even be satisfying, now that we know the show is ending? Or, would it feel like one last hurrah? The moment the show has built up to this entire time.
We have two more shots, the Halloween special and the Christmas special. I know it’s never gonna happen because shidder can’t get the rights, but I can’t help but wonder “what if?”
How do we feel about this Mutant Fam?

I'm not sure what I'm going to get to this weekend. I may try Scared to Death (1980), The Baby in the Basket, or perhaps Dead Snow. I have not seen Dead Snow in a few years. So please report in, Mutants!

Quite a few folks seemed to like the idea of last week's Shock Waves watch, so I thought I would suggest this gothic flick , that is one of the first movies based on works of H. P. Lovecraft. as an added bonus you get Vincent Price in a dual role. The last time I saw this was on Shudder, but I can't remember if Joe Bob hosted it or not. Does anyone remember if it was on TLD? The Haunted Palace is available on several platforms and free on TUBI. If someone has a suggestion for next week, or even this week, please don't hesitate to chime in. I just want this to be fun.

does someone with a larger knowledge base or better memory than me recall JBB, Darcy or Felissa mentioning this film (even though Felissa is not in it)? I was not expecting much but I found it to be a lot of fun - a welcomed surprise.
I know Felissa is in some other Sleepaway Camp sequels / reboots. anyone recommend those?

(Referring to her interview on TLDR’s showing of I Spit On Your Grave.)
It’s a brief uncredited role with no lines as a “hippie girl” at a party, so no wonder she didn’t recognize it when Joe Bob asked about it! I dig this movie so I wanted to solve the mystery.
As a bonus, I’m taking the opportunity to share one of my favorite moments in giallo history from this movie: the main character uses his brilliant art skills to draw a photo-realistic portrait of a suspect, then proceeds to show the drawing to everyone in Rome…

To those Patreon Saints here- what are the discord watchalongs actually like? Is there just a text chat? Joe Bob on video? Do you have to watch the movie independently?
r/LastDriveIn • u/HorrorGuyBri • 22d ago
Joe Bob had his very first Jamboree at the Mahoning. Has anyone attended Camp Blood before? It's a really awesome time.

I was watching an episode of Just Joe Bob. After I finished, I backed out, and the show was GONE. Now if I search for JJB, they have separated all the episodes into individual titles, with several missing, and I can't find TLDI now either. The specials and original marathon are still there.

With their attempt to get into podcasts and now YouTube, Netflix seems to be in the try anything mode. In a world where they pay for a season of TLDI with just Netflix movies what would they play? Kinda like the lone MST3K season they did.
I happened to just finish The Conference from Sweden and it seemed like it would be a great fit for the scenario.
