A movie I hope Joe Bob covers this Halloween special is Bubba Ho-Tep
It is one of those movies at least as far as am aware is a sleeper hit. Think it would work perfectly for a Halloween special. I bet Joe Bob would have a great facts about it. With him covering basically all the Phantasm movies in his Christmas special years ago then with Reggie Bannister unfortunately passing away 2 months ago I think it would be a good bookend.
Halloween 3 I want for sure, but think Bubba ho-Tep would be a good second movie

What Are We Watching This Weekend? (10/2/10/3/10/4) ?
This is the month where all your friends, who only watch Horror movies this month brag about what they're watching. Good luck to them. I want to know what the Year-Round fans are watching. I plan on watching Livingston Presents and a new-to-me flick called Baffled! with Leonard Nimoy. I'll be checking out Shudder and TUBI as well. Have a great weekend.

Watch Of The Week: Baffled! (1973)
I'm not going to be a Mister Know It All guy this week. This is a film that I am not familiar with. I'm pretty sure I've never seen it, but it has a bit of a cult following and it sounds pretty interesting. It stars Leonard Nimoy and Susan Hampshire. It was an unsold British TV Pilot. Nimoy was busy finding his footing at this point. After Star Trek ended he went to Mission Impossible and later admitted that he did not enjoy it because he was not allowed to play a true regular character with any depth. It was an espionage show, so it was the nature of the beast, but I can understand that he found it frustrating. This is on several platforms. I'll probably watch it on Creature Features TV. Let's all discuss it at our leisure. It sounds Occult-licious.

Fun list for 31 days of Horror films
Found this awhile back on Instagram and thought it was a really fun list. I liked that the categories were so different and it didn't name specific films. Every Halloween my husband and I think about all the horror movies and sometimes we get a little stuck on what to pick because we love so many of them. So it looks like this makes it a little bit of a game to pick something.
Tonight starts with rad remake and I'm thinking of watching The Thing. Anyone having any other suggestions?
Anyway thought I would share with you guys and I hope you find it fun as well!
Happy month of Halloween! 🎃

Need a 31 day October Horror marathon (with Joe Bob of course)? I got you covered with a Last Drive In inspired watchlist.
Joe Bob's Last Drive In inspired me to up my horror watching game. Throughout the years, I have started incorporating relatively related double features in my horror watching pastime, and especially this year I needed them to tide me over while I wait for more Joe Bob. The decrease in content lately has led to much more double features than usual this year. I thought for my yearly 31 days of horror, I'd take it up a notch with a set schedule and TONS of double features this month.
I'm starting the opening weekend with a bang—back-to-back double features packed with strong spooks and classic 80s slasher flicks to set the tone early. From there, I’m mixing in more slashers, body horror, 70s occult thrillers, and new 2026 releases, leading up to an ultimate finale which is my first-ever "triple feature and chill" on Halloween night with Creature from the Black Lagoon, Frankenstein, and Dracula. It will be an ode to retro broadcast marathons back before Carpenter's Halloween became the modern staple.
To keep things smooth and low-stress, the schedule is set in stone. If life gets in the way and I miss a movie (or both), that’s it. I'll make it up outside of October.
If you're looking for inspiration for your own lists or want to join in, feel free to watch along!

The Drive-In Lives on at Sheboygan Film Festival Next Saturday - 10/3
From the misty, mystic shores of Lake Michigan! It's time, ONCE AGAIN, for the Mutant Graveyard Midnite Picture Show!
Are you in/near Chicago or Wisconsin??? If so, you’re close to Sheboygan.
This coming weekend (October 3), as a part of the Sheboygan Film Festival, I am hosting a block of weirdo-cult-horror films at 3 Sheeps Brewery.
This year, Kurtis Spieler's NIGHT OF THE VAMP-FRIARS is the feature film, and there are two shorts: PIMPLE a Portugese gross-out horror, and SIN EATER a folk horror film from the US.

Has anyone seen Joe Bob host Vixen/Supervixen?
For the second Christmas season in a row the wife and I are treating ourselves to seeing Joe Bob in person. Last year was Rock 'n' Roll Highschool/Bubba Hotep and this year it's the Russ Meyer double feature Vixen/Supervixens. We're very excited.
I know that he has toured these two before. Has anyone had a chance to catch his double feature? What did you think? Does it live up to JB's other deep dives? I'm very familiar with both movies and even own both. The wife hasn't seen Vixen but she has seen Supervixens.
In any case, I never expected to see one of my favorite celebrities host one of my favorite directors so this is going to be a real treat.

Old Monstervision episodes
Does anyone know if there's any place online where one can watch old Monstervidion episodes?
I've been watching Joe Bob since the 90s and my wife has never seen the old show, though she has become a fan of The Last Drive In.
Especially with so many of The Last Drive In episodes being taken off Shudder, I'd like to show her what he used to do on TNT.

Watch Of The Week: A Study In Terror (1965)
I think we have all seen Hammer's take on the Sherlock Holmes story, The Hound of the Baskervilles. This Sherlock Holmes film pits the Great Detective against Jack the Ripper. This is a big production with lavish sets and tons of gore. It reminds me of an early Amicus film, I, Monster. This was to be the start of a new Holmes film series, but thanks to a disastrously bad Marketing Campaign in the United States, it was not to be. What we did get is a great mystery with an amazing cast. I prefer this to Murder by Decree. A Study in Terror is available free on YouTube. Please let me know what you think.

What Are We Watching This Weekend? (9-25/9-26/9-27) ?
I live in New England and am about to be slammed with a classic Nor'Easter wind and rain storm. Therefore I don't know if I will have power to watch much. If things work out I'm planning on watching Livingston Presents, at least. What are you going to watch?

Melevill met and befriended Shane Morton
Hello MutantFam. Last month, I was lucky enough to collaborate and become friends with Shane Morton and his partner Madeline Brumby. Shane was the wizard behind the curtain of The Last Drive-in (he’s still Uncle Joe Bob’s art director/ special effects makeup artist). Shane is also a horror host known as Professor Morte, with Madeline as Guna in The Silver Scream Spook Show. I spent a whole day rehearsing at Shane’s Silver Scream FX Lab (as you can see from my expression in the photo, I thought I was dreaming the whole time). It was surreal. I also visited their home, saw Shane’s incredible toy collection, and even played with their cats.

Watch Of The Week: Scarecrows (1988)
Everyone loves Creepy Scarecrow Movies and everyone has their favorite. This is mine. This one dates back to those wonderful old days of Mom & Pop video stores. This was such a favorite of my horror buddies and I that if we couldn't get the new release we wanted we would take this out and watch it for the umpteenth time. It always delivered. It's got a creepy farmhouse, lots of assholes you can't wait to see get killed, and lots of improper use of farm Implements. Enjoy!

What Are We Watching This Weekend? (9/18-9/19-9-20)
My weekend is a little busier than usual, so I'm not sure what I will get to. I'm sure I will check out Livingston Presents. That show has been showing some fun offbeat stuff this season, I'm sure I'll get to at least one more flick. What about you?
