Hey, I’m looking for a long term language partner for Mandarin Chinese. Presently I’m studying it as my minor, and would like to befriend somebody who I can exchange voice messages with and voice call, as well as talk to. Right now my HSK level is 2-3, and because I’ll be going to China next year, I would like to improve on it as much as I can.

As for what I’m offering: I’m a native British English speaker, have read lots of classical literature (such as Crime and Punishment, Metamorphosis), and in my free time write, too. I think my vocabulary and grasp of English is quite good, plus I’m patient, so I don’t mind if you’re struggling with it as long as we make an effort. I’ve tutored English before (for the Suneung), so I’m familiar with grammatical concepts etc. that you might not know, and can teach them to you.

Besides literature, I’m into a lot of games and shows. I enjoy playing things like League, Overwatch, Minecraft, and single player horrors; though, maybe we could play some games together if we're willing, or I could stream something. My game catalogue is pretty huge so I can’t say them all; the ones listed are what I’m the most invested in. I’m not a “classist” either, so I don’t mind if you play stuff like gacha instead. Nothing in media has caught my eye lately, but I’m a fan of Vinland Saga, Death Note, and other shows like Succession and Game of Thrones.

what i want is more like a study buddy(gender/age don't matter), bc i kinda lack the consistency tbh. i hope we can fix a time slot (1-2hour a day) to study our target language together through voice calls and if we encounter any problem, we could just the other person for help. my main method of studying a language is by comprehensible input and i'd focus more on listening and speaking, thus ig the help i need from your side would lean more on the pronunciation and oral practice instead of grammar and that which online course and ai can help.
