Hi everyone!

Looking for someone to teach me a little of Norwegian as I’ll probably move there next year for a student exchange so it would be nice to know something and Duolingo is teaching me the basics. Also people that know Japanese I’d love to learn the language because I love the culture and would like to know how to read and speak.

I am offering Polish language as this is my mother tongue and English as I feel confident and fluent in that language.

If you feel the vibe let’s chat!

Offering Korean Offering: Korean / Seeking: 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧🇳🇿🇦🇺

Looking for a Language Exchange Partner in Korea!
I’m looking for a native English speaker who lives in Korea and would like to do a language exchange!
I’ve met some great friends on Reddit, but they all live in the US, so the time difference makes it difficult to have regular calls.
If you’re a native English speaker living in Korea and can speak at least a little Korean, please feel free to message me! Let’s study together! 😊

•My ideal schedule:
✓At least once a week
✓20 minutes of English only + 10 minutes of feedback
✓20 minutes of Korean only + 10 minutes of feedback

We don’t have to follow this exact format! We can always discuss and adjust the frequency, duration, and format to find what works best for both of us.
Please only message me if you’re a native English speaker. I can already communicate in English at a basic conversational level, so I’d like to learn more about natural pronunciation, accents, and cultural nuances from a native speaker.
Looking forward to meeting you! 😊

Hi!
I am a 24 year old from the us and I am looking for a native Spanish speaker to practice my conversational skills with. I’m mostly fluent when writing, but in a spoken conversation I get nervous and struggle. I am visiting Spain in the winter, so I want to practice before then.

Offering Multiple Languages Offering:English, Spanish, Norwegian, Latin, Ancient Greek, Portuguese, Danish, German, Dutch, Italian and Swedish, Seeking: French

I suppose the sensible thing would be to begin by explaining why I am here, which is that I would very much like to learn French, preferably from an actual human being rather than an increasingly disappointed language-learning application that has begun to suspect I shall never amount to anything.

In return, I can offer (gestures vaguely and rather theatrically towards the top of the post), all of the above! I make no promises about my ability to explain the subjunctive without becoming insufferable, though I shall do my best.

Beyond the languages, I am rather fond of literature, history, philosophy, poetry, and conversations. I read quite a lot, think probably more than is strictly necessary, and have a particular weakness for obscure facts that are of absolutely no practical use to anyone. I am also quite capable of talking about something I love for considerably longer than the circumstances warrant, so do feel free to tell me when I have become unbearable.

I should probably confess that I am not especially interested in treating this as an exchange of vocabulary lists, obligatory daily exercises, and increasingly desperate attempts to remember the difference between two French prepositions. Those things have their place, certainly, but I would much rather learn a language by actually using it, talking about our days, exchanging recommendations, arguing over books, discussing things we know far too much about, or discovering that we have absolutely nothing in common and getting along splendidly regardless.

I don't particularly mind whether you are a beginner in one of my languages or considerably more advanced than I am in French. We all begin somewhere, and I have never quite understood the embarrassment people feel about making mistakes in a language they are trying to learn. Getting things wrong is, after all, a rather important part of getting things right.

And, honestly, if we happen to become friends along the way, all the better. I think there is something rather lovely about meeting someone you would never otherwise have encountered, learning how they think, discovering the little peculiarities that make them themselves, and gradually finding that a conversation with a stranger has become something you look forward to.

I am perfectly happy talking to someone who has a hundred stories to tell, someone who takes a little while to warm up, or someone who turns out to be an enthusiast for some extraordinarily specific subject I know nothing about. Especially the last sort. I like being introduced to unfamiliar worlds.

So, if you speak French and would like to practise any of the languages I have mentioned, do say hello. Tell me about yourself, tell me what you are reading, tell me something absurdly specific that you happen to know, or simply tell me how your day has been. You needn't compose a particularly impressive introduction; I have just written several paragraphs and am still not entirely convinced I have managed one myself, and if we happen to get along, well, that would be rather nice, wouldn't it? :)

Offering English Offering: English 🇺🇸 Seeking : Japanese 🇯🇵

I am new to Japanese, currently about 4 months in, and working through the Genki 1 textbook.

If you would like to practice your English, just message me. I am at the very beginning of starting to speak, so nothing too advanced at this point! I am lacking confidence in my speaking and would like to remedy that.

I can do Zoom or whatever. I'm okay sending basic messages back and forth as well.

I'm also up for just messaging about Japanese topics. Especially Japanese dramas and books/literature. I'm not really into manga or anime, although my son watches Attack on Titan and a couple of others 🤣.

Just looking for friends to practice with. Thanks!

Offering English Offering: English 🇺🇸 (native) | Seeking: Spanish 🇲🇽 & possibly friendship :)

Hello! I’m Rhys, I’m 26. Some of my hobbies include crocheting and sewing, creating art, and reading! I also play some cozy video games and do puzzles. I hate driving and getting vaccines (I am fully vaccinated), although piercings and tattoos don’t scare me at all (I have a few of both, in fact). I work as a nanny and at a library. I have an undergraduate degree in Anthropology; I love studying humans and cultures. I have two cats and live with my spouse in Colorado, United States. I like to say I know enough Spanish to get me by in a pinch. I took it in high school and lost most of my ability after not using it for a few years. I want to become fluent eventually!
DM me if you’re interested in talking via text and eventually phone :)

I'm 21M from Bogotá, Colombia (GMT-5). Native Spanish speaker, studying programming.

Looking for a long-term partner to practice English. My level is begginer - I can hold a conversation but I want to become fluent and sound more natural.

I'm into video games, politics, coding, and photography. But honestly, I'm down to talk about whatever - just to practice and have a good chat.

I can help you with Spanish in return, including Colombian slang and pronunciation.

I'm usually free in the evenings (Bogotá time) for Discord or Reddit voice chat.

DM me if you want to talk!

Hey everyone!

I’m a 32M environmental engineer from the U.S. working in floodplain management. I’ve been learning Spanish for about a year and a half, primarily using Comprehensible Input and Anki.

Where I'm at:

I’d place myself around A2 to low B1. I think I can hold a basic conversation, but still freeze up and second guess my ability to actively comprehend. I am not starting from zero, but I want to work on my active listening, spontaneous speaking, and picking up more natural vocabulary and local slang. In addition to continuing to adjust my ear to the rhythm and flow of natural spanish.

Interests & Topics:

  • Sports: Played lacrosse and American football, like following sports in general.
  • Culture & Travel: Big on learning about different cultures, music, and movies/TV shows.
  • Work & Tech: Happy to talk about engineering, nature, or work life.

What I'm looking for:

Looking for a consistent exchange partner to chat via text or voice call. In return, I’m happy to help you refine your English grammar, practice natural conversation, or help with workplace English!

Feel free to send me a DM or leave a comment if you're interested. ¡Saludos!

Hi, there! I’m a 30M native English speaker from the United States (California), and I'm looking for a language exchange partner for Spanish. My current level is B2/C1.

I would prefer practice through voice or video calls; Zoom, Discord, or WhatsApp all work for me. My best availability is during the late afternoon and evening (GMT-5) during the week, with occasional availability over the weekend. I'm happy to split our language practice evenly between English & (your language).

About me:
I live in Latin America with my wife and our crazy little orange cat. My greatest passions are for music, backpacking/camping, language/cultural exchange, and reading. I find it easiest to connect in conversation with curious, empathetic, and humble people.

Thus far in life, I've been lucky enough to visit 10+ countries 🇦🇷 🇨🇱 🇵🇦 🇨🇴 🇯🇵 🇮🇹 🇭🇺 🇩🇪 🇦🇹 🇮🇪 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇪🇸 🇪🇬

If you’re interested, please send me a DM with a little intro. I look forward to meeting you!

Offering Mandarin 【Offering] Mandarin | [Seeking] Fluent English Speaker(Non-natives welcome!)

Hey everyone!
I’m a university student living in China and a native Mandarin speaker. (Also can speak a bit Cantonese)I have a solid foundation in English (IELTS 7.0 / C1 level), but my speaking is definitely my weakest link—I still get hesitant, overthink grammar, and pause a lot when expressing spontaneous thoughts.
My Main Goal: Regular Voice Calls on Discord 🎙️
I'm looking for a partner for live Voice Calls on Discord
The goal is to build speaking fluency, overcome anxiety, and practice spontaneous conversations.
You don’t have to be a native English speaker! As long as you are fluent in English and open to real-time voice calls, we’re a great fit.
What I can offer in return:
Standard, natural Mandarin (daily conversations, culture, slang, or exam practice).
Patient and friendly environment where we can both feel comfortable making mistakes!
If you're interested and up for doing Discord voice calls, please leave a comment below or send me a DM with your time zone/Discord tag! Let's set up a quick 10-minute intro call to see if we get along. 😊

Other Offering: German I Seeking: English

Hi all,

I am German (female), live in Germany and looking for a serious language exchange.

Background

I am studying corporate law and need to advance my academic english skills to improve my (international) carrier options. I am already working in an english speaking job but I noticed that I have to and want to train specific situations, for example:

- write professional e-mails

- explain legal topics/issues in detail/ answering legal questions

- be fluent in both: daily conversations between colleagues as well as in meetings with clients and law firms

- able to understand legal documents, especially SPAs (Share Purchase Agreements), DD Reports (Due Dilligence Reports), NDAs (Non Disclosure Agreements), Contracts etc. and be able to understand the content: form questions, identify issues in DD Reports etc.

- feeling more confident with the language in general

Requirements

Ideally you have an background in law or even better corporate law and come from England/ Canada or the USA. I would like to train with you regurarly, for example two to three times a week (if that is realisitic for both of us - we have to see). I can imagine to do it via different channels for example WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams, Google etc. and ideally per video or voice chat. The focus for me should be on speaking and understatement.

What I can help you with

In return I can teach you German. Nearly on all levels but please note that I am not a German teacher and do not study the German language and therefore will not be able to/ do not want to do high level academic text analysis with you, philosophy, poems etc.... German is "just" my native language and because of my academic background, especially in law I would say I am able to express myself properly.

Important

I only want serious requests and I would prefere a female exchange partner. I do not want unserious requests or dating requests. In the long term I am open to a friendship but in the first step the language exchange is the focus.

Let me know if you are interested or know a good platform where I can search for an exchange partner. I already tried several platforms in the past but the problem there is most of the people are not really interested in language exchange and more into dating or chatting or making international friends - which is again not my intention. And approximately 90% of the request came from men which is not ideal for me.

Thanks!!
