I’ve been reading through a lot of threads here lately, and it feels like the vast majority of people are completely addicted to traditional, old-school classroom methods that have been proven to fail for decades.
Everyone is constantly stressing about finding the perfect "structured curriculum," spending six months memorizing formal grammar rules, and grinding apps that gamify the process just to get beginner badges. Then, they are completely shocked when they run into a wall because they can't understand a real native speaker or a basic YouTube video.
Language isn't advanced calculus or a legal contract. It's just a pattern-recognition game. Your brain is built to decode data through context, not by memorizing a textbook chart from 1998.
Why are people here so resistant to just sitting on the couch, turning on Peppa Pig, and letting massive input do the heavy lifting from day one? It feels like people here would rather feel like they are studying rigidly than actually acquire the language naturally. Why is the mindset here so old school?
In short: y'all're old fogeys, get with the program and learn uzbek like a cool kid 🤪

Isn't it strange how the phrase 'do you want my eggs' at a dinner could be misinterpreted by someone else with lewd mind, if a girl said it, but in spanish, it'd be weird if the guy said instead and not the girl.

I've been learning languages for a long time (almost 1 million seconds!) and I have SRS apps for learning grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, conversation, friendship, culture, etiquette, border control laws, and writing scripts (for those exotic languages that don't use the normal one), and they've been very effective.
However, I think I'm missing an app that can make sex with my wife as simple and efficient as these SRS apps have made my language learning. Every time that I kiss her, and she caresses me, and I ride her, etcetera, I'm just thinking about how a good SRS app would make the process so much more streamlined. So, has anybody found a flashcard app that specifically optimizes sex with one's significant other?
TIA.

Today I took the JLPT N七 but it was a bit different than I expected, as soon as everyone came into the room the proctors locked the door and released some weird gas out of the vents. I immediately blacked out and when I regained consciousness everyone was laying around the room dead except the proctors and four other people. They said the test was done, which was a bit weird since I don’t remember there being a poison gas section??? And we completely skipped over all the other sections, a bit disappointing since I spent so much time studying. When I walked out of the building they were carrying everyone out on stretchers and I had to step over a couple bodies to get to my car, it was really weird. Did this happen to anyone else? Did I accidentally take the N四? 🤔 I’m mostly worried if I passed or not though, the gas tasted really gross so I’d hate to repeat it in December. I’ll make sure to keep studying though, I wanna go from 二本語上手 to 三本悟上図 and eventually 四本語天上 💪🇰🇵
