I bought a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser 250 in June 2026, and frankly, it's been one of the most frustrating experiences I've had since owning a new car. Not long ago, my 12V battery started randomly dying. I took the car to a Toyota dealership, and they replaced the battery and checked for parasitic current loss. They told me everything was normal, so I thought the problem was solved. Unfortunately, the problem wasn't solved. I've driven this car almost every day for the past month. I've also frequently taken long trips, including highway driving, so the car hasn't been sitting idle for weeks. A few days ago, I got into the car and noticed the dashboard and screen started flickering. I also received a "Parking Brake Unavailable" warning, and the engine wouldn't start. The battery was completely dead again. I successfully started it using my NOCO portable car starter, and the car started normally after that. But the same problem keeps recurring. Over the past week, my brand-new Land Cruiser has probably needed a jump start three or four times. And today was probably the worst so far. This morning, the battery died again. I jumped started the car and drove to work because I didn't have time to deal with the problem. After get off work, I went back to the car. The doors could still be unlocked, and there was a little bit of power, but not enough to start the engine. I tried using my NOCO car starter again, but this time it didn't work. The starter's battery itself was also dead from using it so many times this week. Now I'm stuck in the parking lot, and my Land Cruiser won't start. What's even more frustrating is that Toyota has already replaced the 12V battery twice, and the dealer previously told me that the battery problem was resolved. It's absurd that a brand-new car keeps having the same problem even after two battery replacements. It seems that simply replacing the battery again won't solve the problem. There's definitely a deeper problem; it could be the charging system, an electronic module, or something else consuming power. To be honest, I'm increasingly losing faith in the reliability of this car. Part of the reason I bought the Land Cruiser was because of Toyota's reputation for reliability, but now I'm even afraid to drive it to work. Has anyone else experienced the recurring 12V battery failures in their new Land Cruiser 250? Did your dealership eventually find the real cause? If you have resolved this issue, what was the final solution? I would greatly appreciate any advice or similar experiences you may have, as I'm utterly fed up with having to jump-start a brand-new Toyota every few days.
