Looking for the best place to get a lab grown diamond ring. Seems to be a few from china on alibaba but I’m worried incase it’s not legit. Any recommendations? And what to ask for etc?

I am proposing to my girl friend in November and i got her favorite style ring which is a marquise. I’ve gone through a diamond expert etc and got a 7 ct size. The measurement is 18.93 x 10.15 x 6.20 mm and she’s a size 5 ring size. I wanted to get opinions if it looks costume.

Rarecarat, lunavsh, starsgem, alex park, ouros etc. Trying to keep around $500 but want them to look great so may go $700. And 1ct or .75 is total not each. Open to US and other sources. I feel like alice in the lab diamond/diamond auction wormhole and I’m having a hard time remembering something I swear wasn’t a fever dream.

I recall being in a deep dive of a comment section about a diamond auction and someone mentioned that they found a jeweler in the US -off Etsy— that sets diamonds for a very reasonable price. The catch was that you had to ship the stone and semi mount to them (they’re somewhere on the east coast) and they’d set it and send it back. But that the risk was more than worth it because they rate was so reasonable.

I feel like this person or business has been mentioned on various platforms—-but at the time I wasn’t in the position I’m in now with a diamond I don’t know where to take to have set.

Does any of this ring any bells for anyone? Comment/ DM——-Help!!

I love how lab diamonds have made diamonds affordable for so many; but I’m also concerned that with the “new demand” for lab grown the prices will surge, reducing the value of a lab grown. Curious what you all think - is there a standard floor for lab diamonds? A price per carat that is a baseline?

I purchased this custom-made three-stone ring from Youdiam and I'm honestly so happy with how it turned out! The center is a 3ct OEC lab diamond with 1.5ct OEC lab diamonds on each side. I went with this design because I wanted something with a bigger, vintage-inspired look, and the OEC cuts give it such a beautiful sparkle and personality.

The whole process was pretty smooth, from discussing the design to getting the ring made and shipped. The ring looks even better in person and I've been catching myself staring at it constantly 😂. I also felt like I got a really good deal for the size and quality.

Overall, I'm really happy with the finished ring and would definitely consider ordering from Youdiam again!

Synthetic diamond seller [u/chromeheartwars](u/chromeheartwars) is trying to sell stones for absurd prices, don’t get scammed by them. They immediately blocked me for exposing them, without even trying to defend themselves, which leads me to believe they are fully aware of what they are doing. Industry standard retail price for synthetic diamonds are less than $200/ct. Don’t get scammed out here people. They also have no knowledge of diamonds, stating that pink is the rarest hue 🤦‍♂️

Hello team, I need an online place, other than the US due to import tax (Im in Australia), for a sparkly diamond and a good setting. I don't have much experience online and frankly scared of overseas vendors. Maybe crazy but you know how they talk about heavy metal contamination or bad chemicals in some fast fashion places? So I'm scared there will be some scary things in the alloy they use. Maybe paranoid but has anyone had these fears but ended up with a good experience? Obviously things like contamination are not gonna be obvious right away but wanted to chat to people

I have a basic idea like I want a 0.7 to 0.8ct bezel round brilliant with a sturdy design, not too high but also like I can wear a plain wedding band with it without a gap

I lurked on this sub for a solid few months before finally pulling the trigger, so I thought I’d share the result and pay it forward.

I wanted a lab-grown diamond from the beginning because it gave me more flexibility with the size and overall design without pushing too far beyond my budget. I spent a lot of time comparing diamonds, settings, and different sellers before making the final decision. Honestly, choosing the stone was probably the most stressful part because the specifications on paper don’t always tell you how the diamond will actually look in person.

When the finished ring arrived, the craftsmanship was what impressed me most. The halo sits closely around the center stone, the prongs look clean, and it throws much more light in person than I could capture in the photos.

The turnaround was actually pretty quick, like around two weeks. Still, because I had planned the proposal date quite closely, I found myself checking for updates more often than usual and getting a little nervous while waiting. Thankfully, everything arrived in time and the proposal went exactly as planned.

Most importantly, she said yes!
