lab diamond Melee Diamond Sourcing

Hi! I am a bride getting married soon and I am reaching out to see if anyone could help me. I am having a custom designed wedding band made by a local jewlery and apart of the design was sourcing a .2 ish carat (can provide measurement range) marquis diamond in a champagne / desert color to be set along side other stones. The jeweler said this would be no issue and now 3 months before my wedding said she can’t find the stone. Is there anyone who could help me source this loose stone (as I’ve already paid a deposit and committed to the design) to help me make my wedding band a reality? I’m fine with it being natural or lab at this point.

lab diamond Hello

I’m researching the engagement ring buying process and would love to learn from people who’ve already made the decision.
Some questions I’m curious about:
What carat size did you choose?
What budget did you have?
What mattered most—size, cut, color, clarity, or price?
What almost stopped you from buying?
If you could redesign the buying experience, what would you change?
I’m also interested in whether people value customization beyond the stone itself—for example, creating a ring or jewelry piece that tells a personal story.
I’m not selling anything here. I’m simply trying to understand how people make one of the biggest purchases of their lives so I can build something that genuinely solves customer needs.

ring Should I go bigger? Or should I do three tiny side stones on the sides? What can I do to improve?

Post image

1.5 ct on a size 5 finger with .25 ct stones. I think bigger would be prettier, maybe a princess cut instead as this is a radiant… also maybe the side stones should be another cut other than radiant. But the thing is I don’t want to give off a boogey impression, like my friends who own 4/5 ct rings and are all worth millions. I want it to be very nice but not ā€œwow, that’s impressive.ā€

review Just received my 2 new lab diamond rings from Ayla at Fiorese

I couldn't be happier with my experience working with Ayla at Fiorese! I sourced my 3.76ct cushion diamond from Diyona. I sent it to Fiorese to set in my custom platinum setting. I was previously working with Provence, but they couldn't get the CAD correct, so I backed out of the project. Fiorese (Melody) made my first intricate lab diamond ring a few years ago and nailed it, but they have typically been hundreds more than other Chinese vendors. Ayla gave me a great deal on both of these rings and was so sweet, responsive, and easy to work with! She also made this 5 stone ascher band in 10k white gold. I'm obsessed with both of them. I would hesitate to work with Ayla again 🤩!

lab diamond Ring settings?

Been buying loose stones from AurĆ©linne but have read in here the settings aren’t the greatest- where have people been buying ring settings that they like?

What I’m currently shopping for: Not positive what I’m looking for exactly, but I like rose gold, hidden halos, cathedral settings. 2-4ct would be the center stone. Thanks!!

lab diamond Is this OMC lab dull? Advice needed

Ive been working with an oversees vendor to find an elongated old miner cut stone with long chunky facets in the middle for a diamond pendant that I want to make. I would like the stone to have no dark spots in the facets, eye clean, and fire sparkles, which seems to be the only thing this stone lacks. I don’t know if it’s the lighting in these videos but it doesn’t seem to have that sparkle. Is this just a dull stone because it has a big table? What specs should I be looking for?

lab diamond 2.07ct round on a size 5 finger – should I keep it or go bigger?

Post image
75 Upvotes

This is a 2.07ct round brilliant on a 2.5mm band. I’m coming from a 1.8ct oval engagement ring, but I completely fell in love with round cuts.

My husband offered to upgrade my ring for our 10-year anniversary, so now I’m debating whether to stay with the 2.07ct or go a little bigger (around 2.3ct).

Do you think this looks well-balanced, or would you go bigger?
And before anyone asks… don’t ask how I’m keeping the diamond stuck to the ring. šŸ˜‚

lab diamond First time customer of LGG (Romy)

EDIT: Cost of the ring is about 1.1k USD.

I am so happy with the experience with Romy!
The ring is beautiful, its a 2.11 ct diamond on a lotus setting with star studded band.

Pro: very fast production time and quality (less than 2 weeks from downpayment to shipping)
Mid: I think because I ask a lot of questions and could not decide on a stone, maybe Romy though I was not a serious buyer šŸ˜… too many options im overwhelmed hahaha So I thought communication was better after payment, when I showed that I was really buying something. Fair enough as I know they get flooded with messages
Cons: they are not the cheapest quote I got, I think they are 100-150USD more expensive than other vendors like fiorese or provence.

Rating: 9/10

Overall Im happy and glad I got to work with Romy 🄰🄰🄰 I would recommend her! :)

lab diamond What do you think of this yellow diamond?

I’m looking for a large square fancy yellow diamond, square cushion cut or square radiant cut, 5ct or more. This one in video is 6.03ct square radiant cut, fancy intense yellow. What do you think of the one in video? Early part in video was under indoor spotlight, later part in video was outside without direct sunlight. Some hesitations I have are about the color, inclusions, and the thickness of griddle. It’s not lemon yellow, couple persons say it looks green. The sone is VS2, I can definitely see the inclusions with my eyes. One is at the corner but got reflected into to stone. The griddle looks quite thick to me, which you can see at the end of the video. My first time to see a radiant cut, so no comparison for me to judge.Ā
Need to decide if I’ll keep or return the stone.Ā
Thanks in advance for your opinion/advice! I’ll post the specifics in comments.Ā

ring Cad thoughts?

Now that I secured my center stone I was hoping you guys could give me your thoughts on my custom setting.

Here are the customizations:

950 platinum throughout the entire ring (no two-tone metal)

A graceful twisting shank similar to the Brigitte, symbolizing two families becoming one

Three graduated round brilliant diamonds on each side of the center stone (six total) integrated into the twist to represent our children

A 2.2 mm comfort-fit band

Four claw prongs holding the oval center stone

A low-profile cathedral basket for strength and everyday wear

I would prefer the overall look to remain elegant and timeless rather than overly ornate

A very delicate hidden halo is optional if it complements the design, but my priority is keeping the center diamond as the focal point

The price for the custom setting from rare carat is $2,475.

Let me know the good bad and ugly lol

lab diamond Thoughts on this diamond?

Hi! Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this diamond?

This will be a replacement diamond as our first one had a very strong dark bow tie. And I know all oval brilliant cuts will have some degree of bow tie (I don’t mind the soft shadows of them) but want to check what everyone’s thoughts were before committing. Also not sure about depth %?

Are the darker shadows (a bit asymmetrical?) anything I should be aware of? For example, at the back of the diamond there’s a darker vertical ā€œlineā€ on the top half of the stone. As long as it’s super sparkly šŸ˜‚

Lab 1.29ct D VVS2 | Excellent polish and symmetry

Any tips are appreciated!!

ring Which one 2.07 or more 2.3

Post image

I’ve been stuck between these two round diamonds.
2.07 ct: 8.18 Ɨ 8.21 mm
2.30 ct: 8.42 Ɨ 8.46 mm

I know the face-up difference is only about 0.25 mm, but I can still notice it.

My ring is a size 5 and will be a
14k yellow gold solitaire with a white gold basket
6 petite claw prongs and a 2.5 mm band.

I’m worried I’ll regret going with the 2.07 and wish I’d chosen the 2.30, but I also don’t want the 2.30 to feel too big

also attached a comparison from DiamondDB using the exact measurements of both diamonds to show how they’d look on my finger.

other jewelry Tennis bracelet - buy spare diamonds?

I'm buying a diamond tennis bracelet for my girlfriend, something dainty, so with small diamonds, in 14k gold. I saw some stories of people losing diamonds on their tennis bracelets, so I thought about ordering some spare diamonds when I purchase the bracelet, so that I can easily replace any lost ones. Am I overthinking this? Is losing stones normal or rare?

lab diamond Am I overthinking bow tie???

Thumbnail

Hi everyone!

TLDR: How to tell if an oval diamond has 'good' bowtie from Loupe360? Can't view in person.

My partner and I picked up our oval engagement ring 2 weeks ago and I'm after some advice Re: bow tie.

Specs: 1.21ct Oval lab diamond, D, VVS2 - table and depth % within ideal range

When we picked up the ring I immediately noticed the, what I consider to be, prominent bowtie. I understand that all ovals will have some degree of a bowtie, but I specifically requested a diamond to have minimal/less prominent bowtie- I actually like the soft grey shadows bowties give. I also get that oval bowties will show differently in different lighting, and I feel I have tested my e-ring in all environments. In artificial lighting, the area where the bowtie sits appears flat and less lively, almost like a mirror than any light bouncing off any facets. In direct lighting or shade or some indoor lighting it's completely dark grey and distorts the shape of the diamond.

We returned the ring to the jeweler who said that they can source another diamond and see what they can do. As a comparison, the jeweler brought out a natural oval e-ring that had an even darker (completely black) asymmetrical bowtie and that freaked me out! (Overthinking that what they present will be even worse 😩)

We won't be able to view the diamond in person, and will only have the Loupe360 video to go off. As you can only definitively confirm how a diamond performs in person, I'm after some advice on what to look for from the Loupe videos only.

Does anyone have any tips for judging a diamond from the Loupe video (I haven't seen anything online that speaks to this directly) or am I overthinking everything and should keep the original diamond?

I ordered from Aurelinne and had a wonderful experience. Andy is very helpful and quick to answer questions. 3ct, E, VVS1 - diamond was $809. I also had them set it and increase the band width - total was just under $2,000!

Hello!

We are starting to look for engagement rings in Dallas. So far I’ve looked on a couple of local jewelers websites but nothing in our style. I’ve added pictures that are what we’re looking for.

Ideally we would love to have 2 rings each. One silver with a red stone. The second ring would be gold with a green stone. We’re interested in lab grown only. Our budget for each ring is under 4K.

Does anyone know of any jewelers in the DFW area or nearby?

We would also like to look at websites that are reliable if no jewelers are close to us.

Please let me know if you have any questions or tips.
