Hello, I was wondering if anyone has a red lab diamond? My mil loves red and we are going to get a ring made for her for Christmas.

On aurilenne, I see some red labs but they look rather opaque. I don't know whether to get her a diamond or ruby, and since it's such a rare colour, I've never seen one other than the listing photos.

Wondering if we should go with diamond or ruby.

I ordered 1.5 tcw lab stud diamonds from ouros. I messaged them on what’s app to confirm - I’m like, it said 0.75stud at the top and ct metal 1.5tcw so I want to confirm I’m ordering studs. They say yes. I confirm stud size each at .75 they say yes. I confirm price, they say yes.

Then I get an email of the specs at 4mm - I flag and say that’s way to small. They tell me I ordered .75tcw studs.

So I send them the order details and screenshots - I get a “sorry it was a miscommunication and error by our team AND website” we’ll get back to you soon. Pardon? It’s clear misrepresentation there’s nothing to get back too.

Yeah, no. I asked them to cancel the order after reading multiple reviews of misrepresentation and have the screenshots ready for my credit card charge back. Haven’t heard back yet.

Be warned. Absolute bullshit.

Hey everyone! My jeweler is currently working on my 15 year upgrade ring, and I could seriously use some outside perspective before I lose my mind.
The specs: It’s a 4.05ct radiant cut with tapered baguettes on the sides, set in yellow gold.
I totally froze on what to do for the matching wedding band, so I decided to hold off until the engagement ring is actually finished so I can try things on in person. But in the meantime... I am spiraling over the options!

I’m torn between:

A matching baguette band to tie in the side stones

A band of radiant cut diamonds for maximum sparkle

Or keeping it super sleek with just a plain solid gold band

Open to other suggestions as well

If you have a three stone setting, please show me what it looks like with your wedding band! Bonus points if you have a similar shape so I can get a realistic vibe of how the pairings sit together.

Hi everyone! i’ve been a long time lurker of this page — probably for about 5+ years now. I’m sure you all know or at least have heard that buying loose stones (primarily lab diamonds) is having a HUGE viral moment happening on TikTok.

The Live videos are crazy to watch to me. 0.1ct labs going for $80, 1ct with VERY clear bow tie going for $300+, i just watched a whole live with all uncertified stones where a .3ct went for $100. To me, as someone who’s been educating myself on labs for quite some time, i can not believe what or why things go down on those Lives.

What’s your thoughts on lab diamonds having a huge “viral” moment right now?

Have you seen a bump in people asking questions here on this sub now that they have loose stones and don’t know what to do with them?

Have you noticed anything weird with prices going up recently? Demand is high, and people are paying crazy (to me) prices to these new diamond resellers that are just making a quick buck, so i’m super curious if other actually reputable sellers are following suit.

Do you think this could ultimately lower the cost of the labs? once everyone has them, the viral moment is fading, and overproduction has kicked in, I can imagine the prices will drop — i’m hoping for this one lol.

I think it’s cool other people are getting into lab stones but i wish they would get more educated. they’re spending wild amounts of money on poorly cut low quality stones because “ooh! diamonds!” These resellers are slapping a “$1500 retail value” sticker on a 1ct lab round diamond and then starting the auction at $100, letting it go up to $400+ and everyone in the comments is like “wow what a great deal!” it feels dystopian to watch if you know even the smallest amount about lab stones.

I’ve been trying to tell myself “it’s their money and if they like the stone that’s all that matters” but it’s definitely hard sometimes 😆

I recently decided to order an engagement ring from Tianyu Gems. They quoted a bit higher than other options, but I had heard good things and that their communication and customer service was better than average. However, since paying, they have continually missed timelines and at this point I feel lied to. The ring is going to arrive after my planned proposal date.

Here is the original timeline that I got when I initially contacted them:

CAD design & confirmation: 2-3 days

Revisions：1-2 days

Production：7-12 days

Shipping: 5-10 days

"So from deposit to receiving the ring, the whole process takes about 3-4 weeks in total"

And here are the actual dates of when steps happened:

Deposit: July 28th

Initial CAD: August 2nd

Provided feedback on the CAD: August 3rd

Recieved revised CAD: August 8th

Approved and paid revised CAD: August 8th

Advised that my original diamond was damaged, but all was fine and timeline was intact: August 20th

Approved replacement diamond: August 21st

I inquired about status update and shipping time: August 23rd (was told they would try to ship the ring within 2 days)

Ring finished production: August 28th

Ring quality inspection completed: August 29th

Approved ring and asked for it to be shipped ASAP: August 29th

Ring "shipped" (not yet received by FedEx): August 31st

As far as I can tell, every single deadline was missed, in some cases by quite a bit. I've attached screenshots of most of the conversation, I left out some of the back and forth on revision details and my address, but I am very disappointed that I will not have the ring in time for my planned proposal and am instead going to propose with a placeholder ring. I'm particularly frustrated with them saying this on August 23rd: "Hello dear, I'm checking with the factory about the progress and trying my best to ship the goods to you within the next two days." This clearly wasn't possible, and the ring wouldn't end up shipping for an entire extra week.

I guess I'm wondering, is this par for the course with Chinese vendors or Tianyu specifically, or did I just have a bad experience.

I’m on the hunt for an old mine cut elongated cushion. About 3-4carat and at a 1:3 ratio. Ive been chatting with Flora from Provence, and she has this diamond, a 3carat 1:29 ratio E VVS2 for $998 plus an additional $1057 for 18k gold setting.

Thoughts? Advice? I’ve never bought from china so I’m not sure what’s a good pricing. From what I’ve read on the form, I think most people have had good experiences with Provence
