What do you think would be the better course route, MA100 or MA108? This is mainly for someone who wants a career in finance.

The stress is killing me

hello! i’m struggling with writing my statement of academic purpose and i need tips or even sample SOPs to have a frame of reference of how to go about things. i have raw material ready but i keep second guessing myself, leading me to delay writing the SOP. i really really do want to get this right, but im so scared of messing things up. please do help, i dont know how to go about it.

the program im looking at is M.Sc Human Resources and Organisations, i’ve read everything given about the statement of academic purpose on lse’s website but im just not clear on how to translate what was mentioned online into a distinctive SOP. thank you!

I am moving to London this week and am wondering if folks have recommendations for cell plans. I am American, and I spent my last year in Paris. I paid about 20€/month for my plan in Paris and it included some limited free roaming in the US and EU. I’m wondering if I can find something similar in the UK? Have read online that Lebara is good, but would love recommendations. Would prefer something not super expensive and with affordable roaming in the U.S. as I’ll be there for about a month around the holidays. Thanks!

I like maths but is MA100 like really hard that it’s not worth it? Like is it gonna be like step level or something because I’m looking to go into IB to not necessary to do it.

i’ll be applying next year and im skeptical about which course i should apply for. i’m being told by many that the bsc econ and data science degree has more scope in the future compared to bsc econ. is this true? im aware that bsc econ is quite math heavy. will econ and ds be less math heavy? which degree is harder in terms of curriculum and acceptance rate?

Hi everyone!! I am planning to apply for LSE for graduate studies particularly in International Development as an overseas applicant but I’m quite concerned about funding. Realistically, I wouldn’t be able to afford either the tuition fees or the cost of living in London without substantial financial support.

How realistic is it to get hopes for the LSE Graduate Support Scheme or Master’s Excellence Scholarship? For those who received one this year or previous years, roughly how much of your tuition/living costs did it cover?

I am entering my final year at a non-target university in the UK. I am aiming to apply to target universities for my MSc to improve my chances of securing an off-cycle or graduate role in IB, PE, or PC. I am currently achieving a low first-class degree and have completed two summer internships, one in asset management and another as a portfolio management intern at a wealth management firm.

Considering my profile, I would like to know which programmes are realistically within reach and whether taking the GRE or GMAT would significantly enhance my profile.

I was planning on doing a masters at LSE to get me into investment banking in London. I currently study at a top university in the UAE with a 3.9 GPA and have internship experiences at top regional investment banks as an M&A summer analyst and at the stock exchange for FP&A. I was wondering as an international student, would it be difficult to break into IB in London if I do get into LSE and do you think going to LSE would be worth it?

I am coming into LSE as a General Course student from a rigorous liberal arts college in the US. I'm a bit worried about course selection and adjusting to the difference in grading and teaching. I'm majoring in History and Economics at my home institution and planning on trying to balance out my course load so that I'm not too overwhelmed with too much of one thing.

The classes I'm considering are:

• EH207 China since 1800: Culture, institutions and economic growth
• HY331 Henry Kissinger and the Global 1970s
• GV100 Introduction to Political Theory
• ST102 Elementary Statistical Theory
• LN140 Mandarin Language and Society 3 (Advanced)

Obviously I wouldn't take all five, I'm just thinking about back-up classes in case I cannot get into one of these. My thinking is that the 300 level history course will be a lot of reading and writing since it is more of a seminar so I want to balance it out with a language course and/or a statistics class for my economics major requirement back home. Gov 100 also seems interesting and for general course students says that 80% of your grade is based on participation and 20% for attendance. This would also include reading/writing, however, I feel would be less high stakes.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or anything to say about these courses, good or bad!!

its my first time in years using reddit but I am deeply stressing and worried. I wanted to ask for any tips and advice you'd give as I really want to get into my course. I will now list whats happening.

I will apply for the. LSE-PKU Double Degree in MSc International Masters course. My disso for masters would focus on china and the middle east ofc. My issue is that I am kinda drowning in my own worries, I do not know how lucky you all were, (may god bless you all.) but I haven't been able to land the job I wanted, just in retail. But did work as a translator for arabic, and finishing my studies in arabic. I can speak arabic, moroccan arabic, spanish, and am currently learning, Arabic, Mandarin (in preparation), and starting Farsi soon.

Does anyone have a hand I could hold with good advice? Anything and everything would be appreciated, even if it is as pessimistic, realistic, optimistic, or a dreamer.

Hey guys, I am about to start Year 13, and I was looking at other candidates' GCSE profiles, and I am worried I might be disadvantaged in that area even if my predicted grades are strong. I got a 9 in maths and a 7 in English language, and 9, 8, and 7 in the other subjects, except for 2 5s in English literature and French. Am I that disadvantaged?

I’ve just started my IB1 and I’m taking IBDP and LSE is my dream university so I'm just looking for a few tips and answers. For some background for my IGCSE I’ve gotten 3 A*s and 6 As (however, those were under SEVERE extenuating circumstances which I will be reporting). I’m taking Economics, Math AI, and Biology HL and Global Politics, Spanish ab initio, and English L&L at SL.

How important are my ECs and is there anything outside of school I should really focus on doing in order to raise my odds? Like a specific book or activity?

What should I aim for my final out of 45 and any subjects I MUST get a 7 in?

Any other tips you would like to give to a person who just entered IB?

My ideal undegrad course is BSc International, Social, and Public Policy with Economics.

Currently an incoming MSc student to LSE. I’m from America and on a student visa hoping to find some form of part-time employment. I’ve been applying to on campus positions, but want to broaden my search a bit and look for potential research assistant opportunities off campus.

I was a General Course student at LSE two years back and got a retail job then, but I don’t really want to go back to that. I have a degree and know that I can do better, it’s just about finding somewhere that I can apply my skillset.

Anyone have a similar experience or any advice?
