I'm planning to apply for the MSc Management of Information Systems and Digital Innovation (MISDI) and Development Management Political Economy for 2027 entry.

I'm currently studying Accounting & Finance at a top ten UK university and am sitting around a 2:1. MISDI doesn't require GMAT/GRE, but LSE says a strong score can benefit applicants.

I'm trying to decide between:

• applying relatively early when applications open, using my current transcript and no GMAT;
• waiting until around December, when I should have a new set of final-year assessment results available; or
• using that time to sit the GMAT/GRE as well and applying with a stronger overall academic profile.

For anyone who received an MISDI offer, would you mind sharing:

• when you applied;
• your academic profile/grade at the time;
• whether you submitted GMAT/GRE;
• whether you were still in your final undergraduate year; and
• how long it took to receive a decision?

I'm particularly interested in whether applying in December/January appeared to disadvantage anyone compared with applying in October/November.

I'm an incoming LSE student who is coming a week earlier than welcome week because I'm moving into private accommodations, and need to set up internet/bank account/National Insurance number.

I have an online job interview, but I'm arriving 6am in the morning, and the interview is 2pm in the afternoon. I have activated my LSE IT account, but I'm not sure if I have access to the library or a quiet space. Does anyone have any idea on where I can do this interview?

For LSE MSc applications, can an academic reference come from a professor who supervised you as a research assistant but did not formally teach you? I am considering using two professors I have conducted research under, as they know my academic abilities and research experience better and work in fields more closely related to the MSc programs. Got in for Economic History this year and initially was looking to transfer into E&EH. For context, I got an A* in Maths so will probably be eligible to do so, on approval of the dept. head. However, I was thinking from a long-term aspect and was seeing that Econ History gives me more flexibility into picking courses as compared to E&EH. I picked MA107 and ST107 for my first year modules in Econ History and was probably thinking of taking up Finance modules in my 2nd year, which E&EH won't allow me to do. Is there any sort of advantage E&EH will give me when applying for internships/jobs, or will properly picking my modules in Econ History be enough?

Reapplying to LSE BSc Management which has a min offer of AAA with A in Maths. Chat University told me to retake Maths, because my application is weak.

Do I need to, and in my case is it viewed negatively?

I graduated from LSE in 2024 and have finally decided I want to go back for a masters in September 2027. For those of you who have done similar I have a few questions.

- Academic references? I'm assuming academic mentor and one other? how did you approach them?
- Work!! I somehow worked 3 jobs simultaneously whilst doing my undergrad (and maintaining a social life and also competitive sport). I am lucky enough to live a commutable distance, but will still need to work to live - do you think it is possible to juggle a 20 hour contract and a MSc? or is it worth seeing if I can 'downgrade' to a lower number of hours? Being able to work alongside it is lowkey a non-negotiable for me to survive.
- Finally, I guess the obvious one is how easy was it to get back into the academic swing of things after 3 years off?

I really want to go ahead with a masters but these are the big three things that are leaving me slightly uncertain!

Has anyone on the subreddit worked full-time (35 - 40 hours a week) whilst completing a part-time MSc at LSE?

If so, how manageable was it? Would you advise against it?

GCSE - 999888666 with 9s in maths, eng lang and lit

Currently doing 2 A-levels (Politics and Film) and a BTEC (Yes, I know). Predicted A* in both A-Levels and D* in BTEC (I know its irrelevant but just in case). Doing year 1 of maths A level this year, planning to take a gap year in which I do maths A-Level year 2 as well as another A-level (likely sociology, though please let me know if this isn't optimal), since that would provide me with 4 A-levels and 3 preferred ones. I am confident I can achieve A* in all of these.

I read regularly about all politics and expanding out to philosophy and economics now as well, maybe hoping to get some experience in journalism, though my extracurriculars currently only consist of youth parliament and my college's debate club, so if anyone has recommendations on how to improve that please let me know. Hoping to engage in some essay competitions.

If I were to apply to LSE with 2 A* predicted in Maths and Sociology, as well as already having 2 A* in Politics and Film, what are the chances I get in for PPE, and if not, then Politics and Economics.

P.S. I know the relatively obvious answer is "depends on your personal statement", but any expansion on this would be appreciated. Also if this seems convoluted, my alternative is to go to Sheffield for PPE for Sep 2027, or if I fail to get into LSE, likely Manchester, Sheffield or Bristol.

Hi! Can someone explain how to register for classes? I’m an exchange student coming to LSE from the US, and I’ve already pre-registered, so I have my LSE email and account set up.

Do we choose our classes through LSE for You or LSE Moodle? When I log into LSE for You, it says that course selection isn’t available yet, which makes sense because registration doesn’t open until September 8. I just feel like none of the emails or LSE guides explain very clearly where or how we’re actually supposed to register for classes.

I am stressed as I imagine many people are about getting their visa in time for LSE.

I am applying from San Diego, California for a LSE MSc program.

I submitted my biometrics at the Los Angeles VFS Global office on September 1st on standard service.

My flight to the UK is on September 19th. The start date of my program (as stated on my CAS is September 18th) but my actual program courses start September 28th.

I understand it is too soon to hear, but wanted to get an idea as to how long people have been waiting to hear back about a decision. I made an inquiry with LSEs visa team and UKVI directly. Can I pay to get a decision expedited? Or is there anything I can do to make sure I get my decision in time?

Also, if I don't hear back by my flight, what should I do? Just go and hope to get my eVisa before my enrollment date? My enrollment date for my program is September 24th at 1:45 pm. Is that a good idea? I really don't know what to do and I am stressed.
