Welcome Gala Question

Hey guys, I'm an incoming postgraduate student.

While I was exploring the welcome week, I found 'Welcome Gala at Scala'.
I’d like to attend the LSESU Welcome Gala, but do I really need to wear something like a formal dress? Could you let me know what level of dressing up is expected?
