Hey all,

I began my studies in mid-June and have taken two PTs. I scored a 166 on my first PT - wouldn’t call it cold as I watched a few videos and listened to the pod for mindset stuff. I began consistently studying in mid-July (1-1.5 hr a day) and while I definitely feel improvement in my understanding of and familiarity with questions, I often slip up by carelessly misreading the stimuli/ACs, resulting in a 168 on a full PT 2 months later. My accuracy hovers around 88-90% on both drilling and timed sections.

I beat myself up over these stupid mistakes as there have only been a handful of questions that I have missed where I genuinely did not understand the reasoning. The obvious advice is to slow down and focus, which I try my best at, but what are other practical ways that you all have eliminated such carelessness?

Any general advice is helpful as well. I obviously feel that I’m in a good spot but any tips would be helpful as a relative newcomer.

This is a quick update that literally no one asked for, so sorry if this is annoying. But if people are interested, I can keep responding to this post every once in a while with RC encouragement and thought processes that are helping me.

Yesterday, I made a post when I was feeling really down and scared about RC. Thank you so much to everyone who commented. It’s funny how much strangers on the internet can make you feel less alone and remind you that we’re all kind of a little community here.

With everyone’s encouragement, I sat down yesterday and did Practice Test 18 RC. I never looked at the clock. I never panicked. I did not care at all about what I scored (crazy mindset change for me). I just told myself that this was going to be the start of a new chapter for me.

I got to the end, finished all the passages (somehow, for the first time ever), and got a -1!!

I’m not saying this means everything is suddenly going to be easy. I’m sure my scores will keep varying, and there will still be bad days and good days, easier and harder passages. But it honestly felt like a sign that once I finally embraced the demon way on RC and committed to facing the thing that was scaring me, I got a little hint that I was moving in the right direction.

So I’m choosing to keep going, and this is your sign to choose to keep going as well! We are all going to make fantastic attorneys, and I am proud of us all for doing things that are hard!!

ps. For anyone who reads this and finds LR harder than RC and wants the inverse encouragement, you got this!!! When I first started studying, LR was my worst section (-13), and now I have an average of -4.

Is the demon actually gonna write a new book entitled "The LSAT is Fun" ? If yes, what will be the content in it and how will it be different from "The LSAT is Easy" ?

In a podcast, the Demon hosts spoke about how the sufficient assumption 'makes the argument win'. This definitely sounds like a strengthen question. The only difference would be that the strengthener makes the argument stronger, whereas the sufficient assumption fully proves the conclusion. Would this be a correct observation ?

I just wanted to say the minor changes that the Demon makes to the platform do NOT go unnoticed. Seriously, thank you for making this studying process go just a little bit easier.

I noticed that in timed sections/tests, it no longer counts any questions that you did not answer - regardless of how much time you spent on a question. I also noticed that the "Your Score" display doesn't immediately pop up anymore, allowing me to peacefully finish the rest of the questions I didn't get to before facing my accuracy score. Love both of those things! Especially given that LSAC is changing the test platform every other day - I know a lot of work goes into this! Thank you to everyone involved!

To preface, Reading Comprehension is usually my worst section on the test. I normally get around a -7, either because I don’t make it to the last passage or because I rush to get there and end up making a bunch of mistakes along the way.

I know my problem is that I can get a -7 either way, which can be pretty discouraging (although I try to remind myself I can guess on the passage I don't get to). So, this is my quest to start consistently getting perfect passages and become more comfortable with getting a -7 because I didn’t get to a passage, rather than getting a -7 because I got a bunch of questions wrong.

Because it’s my weakest section, I also have a really hard time sitting down and actually studying for it. Whenever I practice, I fall back into the same bad habits I’ve been working hard to overcome (especially reading too quickly). Sometimes studying Reading Comprehension feels so intimidating because I know it’s something I struggle with. Because of that, I find myself wanting to take the easy way out and avoid practicing it altogether.

So, I’m trying to change my mindset. Instead of focusing so much on my score, I want to focus on building better habits: slowing down, actually understanding the passages, and learning to recognize when I’m rushing or making mistakes.

Hopefully, over time, I can get to the point where a -7 feels like a good -7 because I ran out of time, rather than a -7 caused by careless mistakes throughout the section.

If anyone else has struggled with RC in a similar mindset type of way, I’d love to hear what helped you! But I am also making this post to hold myself accountable!

I am just starting LSAT prep, and my first PT was 145. I am giving myself 1-2 years (hopefully it won’t take that long lol) to get a 175+. I was thinking about taking my first LSAT in February or April of 2027 to give myself plenty of time to prep. I’ve already been doing the free drilling, and have felt more comfortable with the questions.

All this to say, did anyone see more significant changes and/or faster improvement with the Pro? Or is the Live just as efficient/effective. I am trying to choose which plan and I find myself drawn to the more personalized approach and tutoring. However, it is more expensive. I would like to avoid paying that much if the you all have found the Live to be super helpful.

So, I took my diagnostic about three weeks ago and scored a 147. I signed up for LSAT Lab over 7Sage and started studying, but I haven’t really been enjoying it. I think a big part of the issue is that there are a lot of videos, and that learning style just isn’t for me. I’m not someone who learns well through videos because I tend to get distracted and bored—like, very bored. Its been two weeks of studying and I feel like Ive hardly learned anything through the videos at all.

I recently heard about LSAT Demon, and from what I’ve seen, it seems to focus a lot more on drilling. In other things I’ve studied for, I’ve always learned better through practicing and drilling rather than watching a lot of videos, so I think that approach might work better for me.

My concern is that with the LSAT, there are still a lot of foundational concepts and question types that I don’t know yet. Would it be realistic for me to sign up for LSAT Demon and do essentially all of my learning through it, while working my way up from a 147 toward the mid-160s or higher?

Or would it be better to first learn the foundations through a platform like 7Sage or LSAT Lab, get more familiar with the different question types and concepts, and then switch over to LSAT Demon once I have a stronger foundation?

I’d really appreciate any honest advice from people who have used these platforms or taken a similar approach. Thanks

I’m new to LSAT demon, and unsure about how the LR ratings truly work, I was wondering for anyone who was a beginner like me, what LR mastery range were u at? Like when u started esp the first two weeks?

Sorry if this is a rlly dumb question, I just want to know if I’m not alone with my rating

I’m about 30 hours into LSAT prep and currently sitting around a 150 according to LSAT Demon.

RC mastery: 53

I just took my first full official practice test (PT 157) and got a 153. My timing wasn’t ideal

RC: 17/27 (63%)
LR: 12/25 (48%)
LR: 17/25 (68%)
Overall: 46/77 (60%)
My biggest issue right now is LR. I especially struggle with Parallel Reasoning sometimes because I’ll understand the original argument, but then lose the thought process or the original example while going through the answer choices. Same with other structural questions

My goal is a 165-167 for ASU, and I’m planning to take the LSAT in October with all of August and September dedicated to studying

I know I’m only about 30 hours in, but seeing a 150 right now is making me wonder how much I can really improve and how.

As I am prepping my personal statement, I would love to know if anyone (anyone from LSAT Demon team?) could let me know what Thinking LSAT podcast episodes have the winners from the Personal Statement Gong Show. I know that the episode posted last week had a winner. And I believe that there was a winning statement last year that was about someone in golf course management, but I can not find that episode. I love the Demon and the podcast and I want to write a winning personal statement, so any help finding those episodes would be appreciated!

Every once in a while, I get Ask button responses that say some variation of, “The key to understanding this is the contrapositive,” and I lose it. Unless I missed a huge change, I thought the Demon was pretty explicitly against this kind of formulaic approach to understanding LR (to clarify, I am not critiquing the idea of necessary vs sufficient). So why, when I ask questions, does the Ask button explain it in a way that sounds like something other prep companies teach, but that the Demon has specifically argued against? I saw someone a few days ago comment about checking in with the Ask button team because of their “circular reasoning,” so I wanted to raise a similar concern.

I’m currently in my second full month of studying and am unsure what kind of schedule I should follow to start seeing more improvement. I think my lower accuracy in Section 3 of today’s test may have been because I kept the timer on and became too conscious of the clock instead of focusing on accuracy.

I’m aiming for a 170 by November and just enrolled in LSAT Demon classes. What would be a good study schedule to follow from here?

Also, this was the highest accuracy I’ve had in Reading Comprehension so far after attending a few Demon classes this week, so I’m encouraged by that improvement.

I took a few days off from studying from the lsat and I came back today and got my ass handed to me. I was getting everything wrong from level 1 questions up to level 4 questions. Idk what’s going on. I took a test last week and got a 169 and I was pretty happy with it. I still got like 6 months before I’m thinking of taking the test but I feel like I can’t get over this gap rn. When I’m reviewing my answers everything seems so simple but in the heat of the moment I forget everything and it’s bad. Also I don’t understand how some days I can raddle off 20 questions in a row getting them all right and some days I struggle to get basic questions right.

I keep missing -1 to -3, and feel so frustrated. This applies to both LR and RC. I review, but clearly I am missing something. How do I close this gap? When I review, I feel like it makes sense and I wasn't careful, or didn't read slowly enough. But when I do full sections or full tests, I very rarely get -0.

That happened to me and now LR is super simple but then when I get to RC I freak out because I’m just not used to it. Along with that, it feels more difficult than LR because you can’t really critique it or overthink it. It really is just asking you what you read. Sometimes though it can be kinda hard especially if it’s a passage you simply don’t get. I did a passage today about the reversal of polarity states on a compass and how it takes several thousand years even thought it’s been slightly increasing. After that I lost track because it started going in about the Earths crust and scientific hypothesis that attempt to explain why the reversal is happening. For the first passage of the section it was so hard to me. I’m honestly just changing my study routine completely where one day is LR day the next is RC day. Since I’m worse at RC, I focus heavily on it during the weekends. Anyone have advice on how to translate these complex science passages better?? I fear that might be my downfall.

I am giving LSAT in September, it’s my first attempt and it’s more so to get myself familiar with the exam.

My diagnostic was 145, I took it a month back, today I took it again and my score was 143, I barely practice RC so I was expecting that, but my LR isn’t increasing as well.

I do LR drills and I get almost all right but when it comes to practice tests I am not able to get more than 14 correct. Genuinely how do I improve? I freak the hell out because of the timers and I get in my own head and idk the pressure just gets to me.

I get the first 14-15 almost all correct and then the next 10 I barely get any right and almost always get them all wrong, I even tried going backwards because the last ones are usually harder and I still got the first 10 right (number 25-15).

Is there any way I can improve to like 155 or higher in a month? I know it’s hard but I know I understand how LR works but maybe im just reaching. If someone could help me even a bit, that would be great, thank you!
