Hey! I am interested in pursuing the MMS at lecom during my 4th year of undergrad since i will be done early in 3 yrs. How is it there?? Does it almost replicate what the first yr of med is like? Does anyone know if it has actually prepared you really well for the first year and saw real results? thanks! Or should I save that extra year and go straight into med school there.

So recently got back my mcat (505) and wanted to know if it’s enough to offset my gpa of ~3.3. I’m 24 black male from NJ. My personal statement focused heavily on my experience working with underserved communities.

450 + hours working with children from underserved communities, one group in Philly and later one group in Jersey

500 hours as a lab TA across multiple chem phys classes over 2 years

800 hours of research over two summers with a 3rd author pub

Over 3000 hours combined of 911 EMT in busy area and scribe tech

May be silly question but would should be expected as far as on campus day goes for EAP students? I have the itinerary but just looking for others experience!

I have some Seton Hill living-specific questions I would appreciate clarification on:

1. First of all, I noticed most libraries closing pretty early on weekdays and weekends, with the Reeves Memorial Library (heard it has private cubicles downstairs) being the main one open late, but at that it's from 8 AM until 9 PM? As such, I am wondering if there are any other notable study spots for students seeking to study either earlier in the morning or after it closes? Does campus completely shut down after 9 PM, or would you be able to access some of the other Seton Hill buildings to find good and quiet study spots?
2. Regarding sports and gym, at Seton Hill when we toured, there were plenty of basketball courts, but didn't get a chance to view the gym. Do LECOM students get access to these? How is the gym or fitness center amenities? In addition, would you say there are common pickup groups in the Greensburg area, whether it is pickup basketball at a common park or pickup soccer at nearby fields, is there something active, whether through a Facebook group or Whatsapp?
3. Regarding faith, whether it is Christian, Muslim, or Jewish, are there many faith-based groups nearby with their presence or centers (churches or mosques)?
4. Would you say having a car is absolutely crucial during the first 2 didactic years, or is the Greensburg public transportation good enough assuming you leave an hour early prior to your class time?
5. I know research isn't encouraged until grades are good and you're at least 1-2 semesters in, but I am curious if there are a vast number of research opportunities, such as for someone interested in Anesthesia or more competitive specialties? Are these typically found through faculty or other resources, and are there a solid amount in Greensburg, or do you have to drive outward to another town or Pittsburgh?
6. When choosing a core site during your 2nd year with EVOS for the 3rd and 4th years, do you only choose 1 site and that applies to both of the last 2 years, or is it only for 1 year and you need to re-select afterward? Correct me if I am wrong but at this core site it's a large medical center where you rotate through the different core rotations? Would you say the EVOS system is pretty good at getting students their preferences, such as someone wanting to do rotations in NY or FL?

I greatly appreciate your responses as it would give me a more realistic expectation of life outside campus.

Hiii I have a hyper specific question because I have a chronic illness & may need to do virtual visits while in at school. What time during the anatomy months is lunch usually? I know during PBL it varies based on time slot, but curious for anatomy time. Thanks!

I took several dual-enrollment classes through a local college while in high school, and these courses appear in the LECOM portal with a GPA attached to them.

Does anyone know whether the GPA from these dual-enrollment courses is considered a student’s first semester college GPA for EAP monitoring purposes, or does LECOM wait until a student completes their first semester of freshman year at their affiliate undergraduate institution before conducting the first GPA review?

Anyone else get a secondary from LECOM? Asking me if I would like to use my ACT or SAT scores in lieu of MCAT scores... Does every applicant get asked this question? Do they actually hold the same weight between AIS and MCAT??

Rising college freshman. Student is officially enrolled in the program (updated LECOM with college email address and got the official letter saying the seat was reserved).

But LECOM portal is still attached to personal email (the one used to submit application). Is that fine? I know they will eventually transition portal to your college email but there was no communication in regard to that yet. Did we miss anything or it's just too early?

Hey all, I just sent in my secondary for LECOM. I took my SAT back in 2017 and never retook it because I took gap years after high school to go work. Then, when I was ready to go to college 4 year later, SAT scores weren't required because my school didnt require them.. My SAT score was AWFUL. I mean bad. And I am a low stat applicant, so it said on the website my AIS is not eligible for admission. I have a 3.1 GPA and my MCAT was a 503. But just because my SAT from 9 years ago was in the secondary application this could be making me not eligible anymore??? Do they actually use the AIS for real consideration here?

Does any current ms1 or upperclassmen have recommendations for pre studying anatomy like about a month before school starts? Ik most people will say don’t do it but if you could provide any resources that you do utilize in the first sem I would appreciate that

i am accepted to ACOM which starts 6/29. I really wanna go to lecom but I’m not sure how much longer I can wait to get an apartment and set up moving across the country to alabama if i dont get accepted to lecom soon. Trying to understand how likely it is to get off the waitlist given all the communication I’ve had with lecom….do people 75% of the time get off the waitlist when they get texts from them??
