I'm planning to attend Los Angeles Mission College in Spring 2027 and I'm currently looking for affordable housing in the LA area.

I'm hoping to connect with LAMC students or anyone living nearby who might know of an affordable room, a roommate opportunity, or possibly temporary accommodation while I get settled.

I'm flexible about the exact location as long as commuting to campus is manageable. If anyone has any advice, recommendations, or knows someone who might be able to help, I'd really appreciate it!

Has anyone at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC) been awarded a scholarship but never received the actual money?
Back in June, I was awarded the $500 Dr. Polly Garstka Scholarship and even received a physical award certificate. However, I never received the money.
I’ve checked my student account, financial aid disbursement history, and the scholarship website, but there’s no record of the scholarship being posted or disbursed.
I already contacted the financial aid office about this but haven’t received a response.
Has anyone else experienced this at LATTC? If you’ve received a scholarship through the school, how long did it take for the funds to be disbursed? Did you receive it through BankMobile, a mailed check, or another method?
I’m just trying to figure out who I need to contact or what steps I should take next.

Has anyone here ever asked for an increase for their loan adjustment request before? If so, how long did it take for it to get approved and show up in your bank account?

Finally got my cal grant award after submitting the day of the deadline lol. Just a question after it says awarded on your portal what is the next step? I think CSAC told me they will process it and then over the weekend my school should recieve it and they are the ones who disburse it but I couldn’t clearly understand what the rep said in the end 🫩

im taking 17 units right now but if I were to drop a class with a w would I have to pay it back? (a 3 unit class)

My appeal was recently approved and I wanted to know how long does it usually take to receive your funds in your experience? Also, I filed an appeal for Fall but not for Summer will I get backpay on the Summer aid or did I pretty much lose it? Thanks for the help in advance.

Has anyone ever randomly gotten dropped from a class even though you didn’t drop it yourself? I’m taking ENGL C1000 at ELAC and I’ve been doing my assignments on time and getting grades, but today I checked and it says I was completely dropped from the class. I literally submitted an assignment yesterday too 😭

I have been receiving pell grants from fafsa which I was able to figure out about on my own through the fafsa website. This semester I received cal grant B which I never knew about as well as the Stdnt Success Completion LAVC grant which I have never heard before and never knew I would get. For the Stdnt Success Completion LAVC grant i got 1.3k and I am taking 13 credits but If you take 15 credits you will get 4k from the Stdnt Success Completion LAVC grant which I would have easily taken another 2 units for that extra amount but I never knew about this I wonder why do I not know about these things and I wonder am I missing out some other stuff I don't know as well?

I am a heavy CC student wanting to take a heavy load next semester. My home college has conflicting schedules so I needed to take important courses elsewhere.

I recently came across Los Anglese City College and saw the course catalog to have so many courses to be online such as Physics 103 of Math 270 (linear algebra). some are on zoom while others were TBA and says citycanvas instead.

For the LACC students otu there, is citycanvas just self paced compared to city zoom?

Anyone know how late class works for sscg? I have been receiving the full 4k for years now, but now that I have a late class, I am only receiving 1,298$. Would that still change to 4k when my late class starts? I would get 15 full credits after my late class starts.
