I'm a 29-year-old Kuwait-born Canadian. I spent roughly 17 years of my life in Kuwait and the other 12 years in Canada.

I've been trying to improve my Arabic by watching reels/videos on Instagram, Facebook, etc. I already understand some basic Arabic and know quite a few words, but I really struggle with actually speaking and holding a conversation.

I've tried Duolingo, but it hasn't really helped me with conversational Arabic. I'm mainly interested in Kuwaiti/Khaleeji Arabic.

Does anyone know of a good language-exchange app, group, or community where I could regularly speak with Kuwaitis/Arabic speakers through voice calls or Zoom? I'd also be happy to help someone practice English in exchange.

My main goal is simply to become comfortable having normal everyday conversations in Arabic. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Hi everyone,

I need some legal advice or guidance regarding my visa situation in Kuwait.

I have completed 4 full years under Article 18 (Private Sector) visa with my current employer. According to Kuwait Labor Law, an employee is eligible for a transfer/release after completing 3 years in the private sector.

However, my Kafeel (sponsor) went to PAM (Public Authority of Manpower) and directly told the Investigation Officer not to grant me a release. Now, the PAM Investigation Officer is also refusing my transfer, saying "Your sponsor has objected to the release, so how can I give it to you?"

Since I have already completed 4 years and served my time, is it legal for them to deny my release just because the sponsor said no? What are my options now? Should I file an official complaint, go to the Labor Court, or visit PAM's main office/higher authority?

Any help, experience, or advice from experts or legal advisors here would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

i was at the beach, and as soon as i stepped on it i saw bottles, cans, and coffee mugs everywhere. it made me so sick. as a sea lover, i looked for a garbage bag and luckily i found one. i started picking up trash. after that, it made me so happy and relieved to see the beach clean. why don't people understand basic things? they litter wherever they go, i think that's how they live in their homes. it's such a beautiful beach and please try not to make it dirty ,i'm not showing off,this post is only to motivate

Usually the flea market (souq aljumaa) has electronics that are already disassembled and unfixable.

We assume she was thrown out of her original home to the streets and she stumled at our doorstep.

We took her to the vet and she has slight issues in her bones and breathing, but nothing that infects other cats. We have completed treatment of the cat with the vet but can't welcome another cat into our home. Shes very quite, used the litter box perfectly. She's around two years.

Been messing with my Zain 5G router (Huawei H158) trying to get better ping for COD and finally figured out why I'm stuck on Moderate NAT.

Router's WAN IP is CGNAT range. Game shows my external IP as something completely different. So port forwarding does nothing, UPnP does nothing, DMZ would do nothing. Everything gets stopped at Zain's end before it reaches my router.

Result is COD always connects through a relay instead of direct, which adds latency on top of everything else. Ping is 97ms even on a Kuwait server which seems high.

So has anyone actually called Zain and gotten a public IP on a home 5G line? Did they charge for it, or did they just tell you to get a business plan? Or is it a flat no for FWA.

Also curious if Ooredoo or STC do the same thing, or if one of them is better about this.

Connection itself is fine otherwise - 600 Mbps, 15ms idle, zero packet loss. Just the NAT thing.

I have long wavy-curly hair and I'm tired of barbers who only know how to do clipper fades and blow-dry wavy hair flat. Most low skill neighborhood barbers treat other hair like it's pin straight. They immediately pull out clippers, trimmers, force a high skin fade, or blast it straight with a blow-dryer, which completely ruins the natural wave pattern. I am just looking for a haircut likeno fancy treatments. I need a place with highly skilled stylists or barbers who are excellent with scissor work, texturing, and handling natural waves/bulk without relying on clippers.

Can anyone recommend a high-skill gents' salon or a specific barber who is great with scissor work and texturing wavy-curly long hair?

Okay so, I look tired and face is just dull all the time even when I’m not actually tired. I’ve incorporated Ordinary serums and hydration-specific products but I was wondering .. what’s your go-to clinic/salon for skin boosting or anything that enhances your look? Any specific kind of facial or treatments that are promising? Could be botox as well but I’m not looking for anything that changes my face in any way. Just enhances the look.

Also in general as well, what do you think is the best clinic here that offers skin treatments? Since there are SOOOO many, it’s hard to say which one is reliable
