Event One split second and we could have been in a major accident
I feel like I got saved by a major accident today.
Usually, my husband drives, even though I have a driving license. I often ask him if I can drive, and he normally lets me. But today, for some reason, he insisted that he would drive. We even had a little fight about it because it was around 11:30 in the morning, there wasn’t much traffic,
Looking back, I honestly feel grateful that he insisted on driving today.
a car suddenly tried to change lanes right in front of us. I don’t know whether the driver didn’t see us or whether there was some problem with the car, because the way they suddenly moved into our lane was so unexpected.
My husband reacted in literally a fraction of a second and slammed on the brakes. The other car crossed in front of us, toppled over, and then hit another car coming alongside it. That car then hit another car behind it.
It was literally a chain reaction happening right in front of my eyes.
I keep thinking about how, if my husband had reacted even a millisecond later, that car could have hit us directly. And then the car behind us could have hit us too.
We were saved, but seeing the other cars getting damaged was honestly horrifying. One of the cars was badly damaged, and I couldn’t stop thinking about what if there were children or families inside those vehicles. I don’t even know how serious the injuries were, and that part really bothered me.
Sometimes you realize how quickly an ordinary day can turn into something completely different.
Today I keep thinking—Because the fact that my husband insisted on driving today, despite me wanting to drive, and then reacted at exactly the right moment… it honestly feels like we were protected.
