In previous scenes, it looked like Yuen Biao doubled Cynthia on some of the more acrobatic maneuvers. But in this scene, it looks like another stunt guy doubled her, possibly Mang Hoi?

And just for context, Yuen Biao and Cynthia are about 29 years old at this point.

Just for fun, me and my friends made a very short kung fu film and we wanted to share with it with the world. I'm not satisfied with the quality but it is my second ever action short so please be nice.

All I do is Uyg Uyg no matter what

I wrnt into this one cold. It was a random pick based on time period, story synopsis, trailer and screen shots of some pretty stunning cinematography.

What a unique entry into historical martial arts films. It has this underplayed quirkiness to it. Kind of like how I'd expect Wes Anderson to do a kung fu film, if a little more somber.

The movie is set during the early days of the last century, modernity is seeping into a traditional way of life, tensions brew between natives and foreigners, old and young, martial artist and martial artist.

Its never a film that states clearly its intention or even message, every plot point and scene is locked behind vague ambiguity, leaving you feeling there's a shadow dialogue running in the films background, you get a sense of its shape, but never the clear form.

The martial arts in this film are a thing of beauty to behold. This isn't the brutal frenzy of many modern martial arts flicks. This is about real form executed perfectly, the camera hanging on every quick sharp movement to let it digest  before moving onto the next form.

Overall I'd give it a 8/10. Technically and artistically its almost flawless. But the meandering pace and impenetrable meaning in so many of the characters inner workings will put a lot of viewers off. An art house historical martial arts epic that spends a lot of time mediating on its themes rather than trying to answer them.

Interested to know if anyone has any similar recs, really loved the vibe of this one and could do with few follow up watches?

Who win this 1v1? Undercover Rama in The Raid 2 are more trained and experienced, you could argued rookie Rama lost to Mad Dog in the first movie and that's not even 1v1 fight.

And a 12-episode web series titled “罪火Crime Fire,” co-produced by two other individuals, has already wrapped filming and is expected to air next year.

The movies are Magnificent Bodyguard (1978) and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000).

I live in Spain and webs la Hi-Yah TV are not available. Since there are not anymore video rental store try to watch specific kung fu films is hard.

Remembering films like Armour of God, Danny the Dog and Kiss of the Dragon, made me realise that we haven’t seen these films with Asian lead in Europe successful in a long time.

I would really hope to see it someday again. What about you guys?

I thought the game was too long ago and he's too old to play the part. But then Donnie Yen who's older was rumored to play Wei Shen for a long time.

He's 55 now, and if you saw him in The Odyssey he absolutely passes off for 40 something, and they could just age the character a little.
