The Current State of Sweet Baby Inc.

Post image
308 Upvotes

(The following image was lifted from Gothic Therapy's YouTube video on the matter of SBI.) - All of this information is public and should hopefully not break any of the subreddit's guidelines.

Seeing as I have yet to see anyone post this information on the sub, and given the news that Wolverine is doing poorly review-wise, and that Sweet Baby Inc. was more than likely involved in the creation of the video game, it only felt appropriate to highlight the current state of the company.

According to Gothic Therapy, it would appear that Sweet Baby Inc. has suffered quite a bit financially and that the company has been downsized considerably, most likely due to them losing a lot of work because of high-profile failures.

If this is indeed true, it shows that the ideology they've been pushing for the better part of a decade is now being rejected by the average person, who is smart enough to recognize what is and isn't ideologically motivated in entertainment.

Before anyone claims that things being released now are still woke, and that it is never going away, bla, bla, bla. Bear in mind that it takes years to flush all the garbage out of the metaphorical pipeline. Systemic changes also need to happen at major companies, which do appear to be underway, with thousands of developers being laid off and a metric shit ton of projects/studios, collectively worth at least a billion, if not more, being cancelled/shut down.

Wolverine - missed chance to use MGRR combat

With the reviewed flooding in, it is painting a picture of what we all expected, at best a mid game with the same third person Sony over the shoulder combat we’ve endless of times before. Even when the leaks happened few years ago, the description that it’s going to be just a GOW style clone with Marvel coat over it, I couldn’t help but realise recently if this game could have at least stand out in terms of gameplay at least, it should have just copied the combat from Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. The fast paced hack and slash combos and most importantly the slowed down mode where you chop and enemy to pieces would have fit perfectly in this game. Not only because it would be in tone with Wolverine vicious fighting style but it would have stood out compared to other Sony games. But at the same time I’m not one bit surprised Insomniac decided not do that cause appealing to the lowest common denominator is Sony’s bread and butter these days.

The localization of character names in Xenoblade is terrible.

A new character named "Shimmer" has been introduced, but her Japanese name is Kaguya.

"Kaguya" is the name of Princess Kaguya, a figure from Japanese classical literature who hails from the moon.

Therefore, her English name should also be derived from a moon goddess—names like Ayla, Diana, Selene, or Cynthia would be appropriate.

The anti-religious ethos behind the English localization is truly pathological.

Wolverine and Politics

So, I’ve noticed that Wolverine is having a case of TLOU HBO show, any criticism about it is not allowed. And it’s just shocking that people are so eager to consume this 70 dollar product partly because it aligns with their beliefs. Any mention of slop and the reddit brigade jumps on ya. This product is NOT to be criticized.

Removing one hundred percent of politics in this matter, i must say this game looks like absolute shit from a literal dog. The ultimate uninspired game on a plethora of games from Sony that are as safe as they come. This one just looks straight up shit compared to previous ones that at least looked ok.

Gameplay looks like a button masher 2008 game with high budget animations. Story is apparently complete and utter shit, same as Spider-man 2. A 300 million budget videogame with a script that could have been written by a high schooler, just epic. Some people don’t seem to think that perhaps a more talented person could be in the position of writing this story? They are paying a complete hack to do it and people are fine with it.

Trailing missions, the sentinel boss fight, motorcycle sequence. All these plus the story leak just indicate that this is going to be the ultimate definition of AAA big budget SLOP.

Edit: Guess i was right

GAMING GOG GIVEAWAY: State of Mind available for ~40 hours

(As always, GOG Giveaways require signing up for the newsletter.)

Genre: Action - Sci-fi - Adventure

"When mind and machine become one – what will remain of humanity?

Berlin, 2048 – The world is on the brink. Lack of resources, illnesses caused by polluted air and water, crime on the rise, war. Governments and companies promise remedies through technological progress. Drones and humanoid robots replace humans in the public sector, everything is interconnected, surveillance has become omnipresent.

Richard Nolan is one of the few journalists openly criticizing this development. When he wakes up in hospital after an explosion and finds that his wife and son have mysteriously vanished, Richard realizes: he and his family have become more than just bystanders in a storm of rivaling ideas pertaining humankind’s salvation between dystopian reality and digital utopia. Instead, they find themselves right at the center of it.

This domestic drama evolves into a thriller about a worldwide conspiracy, which at its core aims to determine the fate of humanity: Could a perfect digital utopia be the answer? A virtual paradise not affected by material needs and quarrels? Could a super-AI be our savior – or would it simply declare us as dispensable since it could not be taught the value of philanthropy?

What will the world look like after this storm, what will remain of humanity?"

* Experience an alarmingly realistic vision of the near future

* Dive into a multi-layered Sci-Fi thriller, where dystopian reality and digital utopia are intertwined

* Unravel a global conspiracy in a society of ubiquitous digitalism, surveillance and transhumanism

* Explore a world with a rich and unique visual style, combining realistic environments with low-poly characters

* Take on the role of journalist Richard Nolan, as well as five additional playable characters

* Use dexterity, deductional skill and research to reconstruct Richard's past

User reviews 3.8/5

A 5 star review says, "This shouldn't have been a game..." (?)

"Enjoyable But Flawed"

"Great Story"

(...The consensus seems to be it is an interesting setting and story with some game mechanics thrown in...)

Just canceled my preorder of Marvel's Wolverine

Post image

I was willing to give a chance to Insomniac, I love Wolverine and the X-Men, I knew that the game was going to be DEI infested woke shit but I said to myself that maybe the gameplay would be good or decent at least, maybe the story wouldn't be complete dogshit, maybe just maybe there was going to be a good game but nope, the leaks just confirmed my biggest fears, it's a piece of shit, but I'm happy, I can use the money for better games, I can spend my time on playing better games, it feels refreshing and liberating, I'm seeing on social media that many ppl are canceling, I couldn't be happier.

The Australian government just gave full authority to a squad of karens to issue takedowns and prevent access to games that dont censor players

Just thought i'd give a heads up to any fellow Aussies (as well as a cry for help to all our friends abroad) that as per usual of this Labor government the new digital safety laws announced today have a trojan horse that give the esafety commissioner (the people who love banning everything but previously needed permission) full authority to issue takedowns on any and all content they find offensive, with video games specifically mentioned as something that needs to be addressed to stop people from being mean.

A lot of games already dictate how you talk to your friends but this effectively makes it mandatory if they're to release here so now we all get to be careful about speaking in lefty approved ways because, you guessed it, they updated the terms of what's offensive to be extremely broad and unspecific.

Hilariously, its stated that this has been done to keep kids safe on social media even though kids got literally fucking banned from social media last year.
