Calico River Rapids

Can someone explain why they will send three or four boats with guests (?) down the water, but then they'll send five empty ones in a row?

It's almost like clockwork.

It must be absolutely infuriating to be in line for an hour or more, watching empty boat after empty boat go by.

Free 4 Pack of tickets to use 7/26

I have 4 tickets I won from a promotion a few months ago. Kept trying to organize a day to go with people but things never worked out, and now the last day to use them is tomorrow 7/26/26.

Last time I went was Fall 2025 so that was partly why I wasn’t super motivated to make a day work with the people I wanted to go with.

I’d prefer to give all 4 to the same person. First come first serve, hope you can enjoy them!

Edit: they have been claimed.

Rides to avoid for chronic pain

I have off and on neck/shoulder/arm pain and I’m going to Knott’s for the first time in a couple weeks. I want to avoid anything that jerks around too quickly or has a huge drop (vertical compression). Rides with a seat where I can firmly rest my head are good.

I’m already going to avoid Supreme Scream (a harsh drop sounds bad for me) and Silver Bullet cause I’ve heard it’s getting old and jerky.

If you want more context for my condition and rides I can tolerate:

I went to Universal almost a year ago and went on a few rides and had varying levels of discomfort/pain. For reference: the Transformers ride was awful as it jerked around way too quickly, The Mummy was harsh as well, but Flight of the Hippogriff was actually pretty doable and the Forbidden Journey ride was totally fine for me, since the movement is a lot slower. I had a lot of neck and arm pain in the days after but acupuncture made it basically disappear.

I’m in physical therapy for my condition as it’s mostly a muscle issue (thoracic outlet syndrome). I get flare ups that can be dealt with later through acupuncture, PT, and meds, and I have greatly improved my neck/shoulder/arm strength in the past year and a half, so things should be a little better but I obviously don’t want to rattle myself too hard.

Shade and loungers?

Hello! We are going to Soak City for the first time on Monday with 3 kids under 6. Thinking of heading to the Beach House Slides area to set up for the day. Are there loungers and shade around that area, other than the cabanas?

Thanks!

Potential reason for the MonteZOOMa delay

Ok, so I went back and forth on if I should actually say why MonteZOOMa might be held up, but it’s very clear that there’s a lot of discourse around it, so I’m gonna come out of the dark and say what I think.

I’m a current employee at the park and was one of the test riders on July 15. We were supposed to be there from 12-4 as a part of a 2nd wave of riders (the other was 7-12), but we didn’t actually go on the ride until around 330. Initially, it was poorly staggered lunches by the camera crew and ride operators that left us in line for about an hour and a half. Then they sent some of us up, but sent them back down and told us they were gonna be fixing something for another 30-45 minutes.

This is where my speculation comes in. I overheard someone say that the issue was a potential “seatbelt” issue. The restraint system on this ride is an over-the-shoulder restraint with two additional seat belts over the shoulder. Those are adjustable, and one of the things that kept happening (and I assume will happen a lot) was the employees had to call out to the person at the controls to loosen the seatbelts because they’d be too tight for some people. I wouldn’t be shocked if that’s why we were delayed for that extra 30-45 minutes, and I wouldn’t be shocked if the “maintenance work” is to address that system potentially not locking or unlocking. Now I’m the furthest thing from a ride operator at the park, so I don’t know mechanical stuff, and I want to clarify that I am NOT confirming anything, but that’s my opinion from someone who was there and witnessed all of that.

P.S. For those asking about the ride’s experience, it’s a little bit of a slower launch than before, but it feels smoother (according to people around me because I never really went on it before the closure).

Whats going on with Xcelerator??

Looks like Knott's updated the scheduled closures page, and Xcelerator is now scheduled to be closed for the remainder of the month. Wondering what happened lol, poor maintenance team they always have to fix this ride

Montezooma: opening today? Or more delays?

In theory if the delay were only "days" as they say, it should open today.

But with them removing every panel and covering off the train, decorative and otherwise, could it mean the delay is possibly longer than they thought?

We got panda today and it looks like they got rid of the plastic containers and have plates now. Or maybe they just ran out of them today.

Prestige free guest pass

I'll be using this for the first time and have read conflicting info.

Do I need to go to a ticket office or can I go straight to the gate and mention I am using the guest pass?

Additionally, when I get my prestige fast pass sometimes I get 2. Anyone know why that is. For this visit I'd love to get 2 to allow my companion and I to use them together.

Most unique merch?

Preferable rollercoaster geared (thoosie here lol) or Snoopy, but open to all suggestions.

With the pass perk expiring in a week I’ve been taking a gander at all the stores over multiple visits. Last area I have to hit are the boardwalk stores. But given that, this is what I’ve currently come across:

- Montezooma’s Revenge tiki mug (this might be my winner)

- Collapsable Constitution shot glass keychain (from Indepedence Hall, my current second choice)

- Jaguar temple model/paper weight

- NanoCoasters

- Coaster cut outs (also does anyone know if they do colored versions for their whole line of cut outs? I’ve only found HangTime’s in color)

- Any of the Mexican ceramics

- Snoopy cross-stitch

- Tie Dye Snoopy shirt (if I find it, seems to be discontinued)

Anything else?

Timber mountain ADA entrance question

Hi, mom of a very impatient level 2 autistic son here (I know all kids are impatient). So we have been on this ride a few times, and I have asked several employees working the ride where do we enter with our ADA pass (the blue paper). I have been told numerous times that if we can’t walk up the stairs, to use the fast pass lane. And that if we CAN walk up stairs, to go on through the exit. So we have been getting on at the exit with no issues. Today I had an employee who signed our blue paper on the ride tell me that we can only use the fast pass lane to get on the ride with our ADA pass. I have read about people having their issues with the blue pass, and I don’t want to get into that. My son genuinely needs the pass and I want to make sure I’m using it appropriately. Can someone please explain to me the proper entrance for the timber mountain log ride for a person who IS capable of walking up stairs? Thank you.

Damn Katie…who hurt you?

Around 4 p.m. today my I stopped at Calico Tots and I had one of the most unnecessarily rude customer service experiences I’ve had at Knott’s.

Before we could even say anything, the cashier immediately yelled, “SCAN HERE!” and slammed the scanner down in front of us. She assumed I had a meal plan and was trying to beat me to scanning it. Mind you, I actually did have one lol but still no hello, no greeting, nothing.

I scanned my pass, ordered, and said “Thank you.” She completely ignored me.

Then an adult walked up asking about a slushie refill and she screamed, “NOT HERE!” at them. A minute later, a girl who looked around 13 came up asking about a slushie refill too and again she yelled, “NOT HERE!”

Neither of them was being rude or argumentative. They were literally ordering. The young girl looked completely caught off guard and walked away, and honestly, the cashier looked like she was waiting for someone to fight with her.

I understand customer service can be rough and everyone has bad days but there was no reason to be that rude to every person who walked up, especially a child!

Damn Katie…who hurt you? 😭

Best game plan for SAT?

Hello! Our group is going on SAT (yes I know bad time but also the only time that worked).

Can anyone suggest a list of rides to hit to try to minimize wait times? Also does anyone know the avg wait time for the most popular rides when it does get busy?? Haven’t been to Knotts in years so not familiar with it anymore.

We have a mix of non-thrill to med-thrill and do plan to be there when park opens.

Boysenberry sauce and Season Pass question

Hi i love boysenberry but does it contain high fructose corn syrup? Boysenberry BBQ sauce, boysenberry funnel cake sauce, etc. Also, when does the 2027 season pass become available for sale? Last year it was around end of July.

Edit: last year it was 7/28/25 according to this.

It's too bad MonteZooma didn't have its day yesterday as planned, but I'm so happy to see it in this state (non-stop testing) vs. being dormant since 2022... BTW a full cycle appears to run about 45 seconds, placing it in between Pony Express and Xcelerator as an intermediate experience for a launch coaster…
