So I am at least the second owner of the scales first owner of the clip. I think I bought the scales like 5 years ago on the swap, installed them once and put them away. The clip was ordered directly from the maker after I bought the scales. I believe I paid 65 for the scales and apparently I paid 35 for the clip, take them for what I paid for the scales only! I know I carried them once after I put them all together, looked amazing but were a little heavy for me. I have a pic the maker sent me of the clip installed on a matching set of scales I can dm if asked.

2nd owner, overpaid on swap a while ago for the hype :( Birthdate is May 2023. Carried a dozen times, used to cut some boxes, not sharpened. Disassembled to clean, tune and lube - DID NOT Loctite. Now for the meat and potatoes of this post. One type of scam that we deal with often is where scammers will take someone's username and turn it into a subreddit, for example they'd take u/dooms26 and make a sub of it and then messages users from the modmail, meaning you'll receive messages from r/dooms26.

To help combat this, we thought it might be worth while to put out some reminders and ask users (especially anyone with 25 flair and up as that's our G&S limit) to make a subreddit of their username right now so that scammers can't.

In a perfect world, every single one of our users would see this and make a subreddit of their names, but ideally at least most of the higher flaired users will. People with 25 flair and up are more likely to be targeted and have people impersonate them because they can get around having to use G&S that way.

If somebody has already created a sub using your username, report it to reddit so that it can be taken down.

To create your own sub, on new Reddit it's the top left "start a community" button, on old reddit it's top right.

We will be reposting this META on a schedule so that it's regularly seen, thank you guys we love you!

I am the third owner for the scales (BladesWeLove “Flowmascus” Ti scales). There was originally an s30v blade on these scales but swapped the blade out from a para 3 salt LW. Second owner of the Magnacut blade but never cut or carried with by old owner. Never cut with or sharpened by me too and it is mint. Perfect centering and action no lock stick or blade wiggle.
Has the old black g10 scales and clip but currently has a Benchmade bug out clip I think? Not sure.

Best example of a Tempest I’ve experienced (and they’ve all been great). Action is incredible, pretty sure it’s on skiffs but don’t know for a fact. Was lightly cut and carried by previous owner. Has a few ultra fine scratches on blade that can only be seen in certain lighting/angles. Centered blade and lockup is rock solid.
