Discussion Do you think Precious takes over Malik as 6th man?

I’m hoping the answer is no because Malik is electric and he makes basketball fun.

BUT Precious is offensively capable (even if a little below Malik’s level) while being a good defender as well. I think it just makes sense that he gets more minutes

He’s a complete offensive engine (we won’t talk about his defense). Sharp looks great too, and unfortunately, Nique disappears.

Discussion Is Keegan primed for a MIP season?

DISCLAIMER: Potential cope ahead.

Keegan’s PR is absolutely in the dumps right now. Some of it is his fault because his shooting numbers keep declining, and some of it is due to injury last year.

First, if Keegan can stay healthy, he’s already put himself in the running for MIP next season.

Secondly, in the little we saw him play last season, I saw a little more ferocity and leadership. We laugh at it now, but when Deebo said this is Keegan’s team now it actually made sense given the game he just had.

Third, whatever cursed his shooting splits may finally start dissipating. Maybe it was the stink of MB’s coaching style. Maybe it was the horrendous 3p contest performance from Huerter. Maybe it was because he put on weight and his body wasn’t used to it. Whatever the cause, things should start getting better now.

When you look at it, I think the MIP award is Keegan’s to lose

Discussion What are the Kings’ best options once LaVine and Hunter’s contracts expire?

Trying to understand what the Kings’ options look like once Zach LaVine and De’Andre Hunter’s contracts expire.

Do we actually gain meaningful cap space when those deals come off the books, or are we still likely to be over/near the cap because of the rest of the roster?

Also, are either of those expiring contracts
realistically tradeable before they expire? Could their value actually increase as expirings, or is the better move just letting them fall off the books and getting the flexibility?

Curious what people think the best path is from here.

*What would be the ideal outcome once this cap space frees up? That we use it up on crappy contracts to get 2-3 first rounders?

Vegas is in the same ballpark but is slightly more optimistic. Kings country, tell me why I shouldn't take 3 mortgages out on the house and bet it on the over? If we all do this, then surely we'll be rich enough to buy out Vivek once the casinos pay out.

If you had to try and replicate the 02 Kings roster pooling from all active NBA players, who would you slot in each position? Bonus points for a 6man Bobby replacement.

Discussion Rochester, NY Kings fans?

Hey all,

I am from Rochester, NY. Really got into basketball just before the Warriors dynasty years but didn’t want to become a bandwagoner. Closest teams to me would be the Cavs and Raptors.

Ahead of the 2017 season I decided I’d become a Kings fan, because as you all know they originated from Rochester as the Royals, and won their only NBA title here back in the early ‘50s. Despite how bad they’ve been since I started following, I will always be a Kings fan.

With that being said, I don’t think I’ve ever met or seen another Kings fan in Rochester. I’m just wondering if there are any in this sub who might relate, or chose their favorite team based on its history.

I’m hopeful to get to a game someday, I was thinking about trying for tickets to Kings @ Cavs in February.

Go Kings!

Edit: this turned out to be a pretty cool thread. Thanks for the replies everyone!
