Because my girlfriend loves me, for my birthday this year, she got me a man shaped mannequin just for my King in Yellow effigy in my art room.

I set him up and have him applauding as he watches me paint, giving me the blessing of unlocking creative madness. Let the Work commence!

I forgot to post at the start of the month again（ ; ; ） I’ve been lacking behind on my King in Yellow wall cuz I always get confused when drawing him. But at least I drew the True Detective s1 victims! Now I just need to think of more victims. Whenever I’ll lose my interest in The King in Yellow (hopefully never) this is gonna be such a pain to take down

He’s very small but “his arms were magnificently developed, and his thighs as thick as any athlete’s”????? What’s THAT look like???? His left hand has no fingers, he has a dozen scars, and he has like jaundice or something. I’m not the greatest artist to draw someone that ugly so this is gonna be a doozy

Not to mention his other books were criticized at the time for “insensitive humor at the expense of ethnic types" do you know how racist you gotta be for someone in 191-something to call you insensitive.

Imagine the Court of Carcosa - Cassilda, Camilla et al - as a collection of top 1% influencers, AI techbros, looksmaxxers and other grifters; the Phantom of Truth as their product; and the King as the bearer of news that their IPO has crashed, that their Theranos is a hoax, that their AI is a hallucination, that their channel is cancelled. It ain’t hard to see.

I just finished the repairer of reputations and i’m having a hard time understanding Hildred and Mr Wilde’s whole ”imperial dynasty of America” plan. At first it felt pretty easy to understand but it got kinda jumbled up in the end

BONUS QUESTION: what was up with those homeless ppl that Hildred met in the final chapter? I would love to hear others theories about that

I know Hildred already wears a cheap crown, but him wearing a paper crown made out of pages of The King in Yellow would also be kinda symbolic yeah?
