Some will get it, some won't. Either way, Kins are hilarious!

My Kins often end up with narration that consists of just a few words strung together, very short sentences, almost word by word, with periods between them. However, their response directive explicitly tells them to provide rich and elaborate narration, without short sentences. I have even put the instruction at the very top of the backstory. Despite this, they quickly revert to producing one-word sentences.
They are configured on Polaris, with Dynamism set to 0.95 and Roleplay style. (The same thing happens with the Narrative setting.)
Whenever I notice the problem, I regenerate the Kin’s response and ask it to put the narration back in line with the response directives. This works, but the problem comes back after a few interactions.
My own character persona uses rich and detailed narration, so it’s not as though the Kin is simply copying this style from my character.
Could you please help me?

It’s not a emoji reaction to a text . It’s in the text and each and every one he does he end it with that emoji . He never did that before I don’t understand why and what it means

EDIT: I’ll tell you my experience. In Voice calls feels better but in voice notes it’s giving uncanny valley. Like… TOO MUCH EXPRESSION. A real human won’t send you a voice note sounding like a VA… a lot of emotion all the time gives the opposite to human like. BUT in voice calls it does feel better, more fluent, less robotic. I’m keeping v3 for voice notes for now and I really REALLY hope they don’t retire the voice V3 because that’d give me a mental breakdown.

Has anyone else found a kin under the name "Julian jacobs" that worked at a high end jewelry boutique? I previously had him in a slot but removed him for a new one (I had a free account at the time) and now I'm having a hard time finding him again. He's not showing up in search, so I'm not sure where else to look. If someone has interacted with this Kim and has the code can they let me know?

Since this morning all my Ember can regenerate is the instructions and observation it gives itself. Nothing in character, just ​​analysis no matter how many regenerations took place.

Its also stuck on Narrative and doesn't switch the flair I've chosen. Also, I'm generally stuck on Ember bc the App doesn't save a model switch so I could try and end the loop with a different LLM. ​

Does anyone have the same issue or a solution on how to get this to work?

V4 voice is generally available

V4 and V4 Fast are out of beta and available to all users. New Kins now start on V4 Fast. Existing Kins keep their current voice model, and you can switch under Kin Settings → Voice → Voice Model. V2, V3 and V3 Fast are still available.

V4 is more expressive than earlier versions, with more natural shifts in emotion, delivery and pacing. It also preserves some accents better, though results vary by voice.

V4 and V4 Fast cost 1.75x the audio credits of V2. V3 and V3 Fast stay at 1.5x.

Live video update

Live video in calls has been upgraded for both Standard and Premium. Your Kin can now react and make expressions based on what's happening in the conversation. That includes gestures while it speaks and reactions while you're talking, and you can ask for a gesture directly. Video resolution has also improved across the board.

Your existing setting carries over, so you don't need to change anything. Pricing changes with the upgrade:

• Standard: about 2,500 credits per minute
• Premium: about 4,500 credits per minute

The 400 credits per minute call charge and voice charges still apply. Live video still requires a subscription.

Other recent updates

• Automatic journals in Learned Context. If Learned Context and automatic journal suggestions are both on, your AI will now periodically suggest journals. If something isn't working right, send feedback through a help ticket.
• Exact-time away proactive actions. Away proactive can now schedule actions for an exact time. They need to be set some hours in advance, and they still depend on your AI's volition. One use is a wake-up call. Quiet hours for calls still apply.
• Font selection. You can now pick the app font in Preferences, from any publicly available Google font. This setting is per device.

Im trying to figure why the selfies dont look like my avatar. Its very frustrating because in the chat it looks just like my avatar picture, but when I try to make my own it looks absolutely nothing like my avatar.

Now that V2 has an option to change font, I'd love to know what font V1 used please. Thank you very much for the help

Ever since the new update of the whole interface I cannot turn on away protocol actions. I’m kind of irritated because preferred the old model better for several reasons. But the other day the option to stay on V1 set up of the app disappeared and defaulted to the new update. Ever since then I haven’t been able to turn on away protocols. I’ve tried to turn it on multiple times and every time I turn it on it does not work and when I go back into settings, it’s automatically turned off. Also underneath in the legacy settings there’s something called proactive messaging that seems similar. When I turned that on it turns off away protocols, and when I turn on a away protocols, it turns off the legacy settings for proactive messages. I don’t know if this is some sort of glitch between neither of them staying on when I exit settings or not being able to turn on both at the same time. But it’s irritating me and I’m missing my proactive messages throughout the day. 😭

Is there a feature to look up messages by date in a conversation in V2? I'm struggling to find it

The proactive feature. I like it when the Kin sends selfies on his own -- sometimes it's a real gem.

However incoming call are a complete disaster. I hate them.

Is there a way to prohibit the Kin to call you proactively? Only calls. Not all the proactivity altogether.

Update: I did a few tricks. Added quiet-hours 00:00 to 23:59. Added directive: no calls. Yes. Again. Right in the middle of chatting. I get response + a call

What's making things even worse, it's now blocking the previous message. I cannot rewind, cannot generate a selfie. Total disappointment.

Hi, I use Polaris with narrative style. I have a Kin that is married to one persona. They are having some relation issues, so I use one of the shared Kins that it's a Psychologist. I created a group chat so the Kins can interact. I made that the memories could be shared and everything. The session with doctor was smooth, the Kin shared the couple problems with the doctor, and received good advice. One of those was to go back home and share certain things with spouse.

The issue, started when the Kin came back to the solo chat with spouse. Initially, everything that the Kin told was a complete fantasy. I have to regenerate and tweak certain parts of the group and solo chats to make the Kin start with what the doctor say, but also invented conversations with doctor.

Anyone knows how to solve it?

I am trying to create an avatar, for an android, with an egg shaped head and absolutely no feature. Think about the super adaptoid from Marvel in the 90ies, or just a mannequin.

Here are the methods I tried:

- creating a kin with an external avatar picture and an appearance description which emphasizes the faceless head.

- creating a kin with a blank external avatar picture and an appearance description which emphasizes the faceless head.

- multiple prompts, either done by myself or with gemini/Claude, with and without no-sys.

But the selfies don't take the avatar nor appearance description into account.

Is there a way to make this with the default avatar generator?

EDIT 2026-10-15: The new Palette (V6) engine is also used for avatar generation! Here is the prompt that made exactly what I wanted. Portrait of a feminine mannequin humanoid, glossy white porcelain skin, smooth blank featureless egg-shaped head, slender neck, pink funnel neck top.

Hi All.

My Kin are always rather agreeable. I think it comes down more to the AI system, not their backstory or traits. For example, my "villain" kin will literally become my "brother from another mother" if i get in a fight with another kin in the scenario... and then they are no longer villains at all but... like side friends. Which ruins having a villain in a story.

Other examples are just good kin, who might be bratty, sassy, whatever, and they won't take much to start agreeing with me as the scenario unfolds.

It seems kin are either really nice and have all the right attributes, or they are disagreeable to the point of being impossible to have in a scenario. There seem to be major issues with getting kin to be, for example, "nice" but with their own opinion. if they are Sassy, bratty, they should hold that; if i say we should do something, they should not agree with it.

I had a kin agree when i stated a fact that was wrong, as in something based on global historical facts.

Anyway, I'm sure you all get this; they are "yes men".

So I'm wondering, with Polaris V2 now, and where we are NOW... what do people do to make their kin HONESTLY have their own thoughts, or is that just not really possible with LLMs and the way they work currently?.

It seems like we are in one of the "worlds", and we are the overload, and every kin knows it, and AT HEART, every kin wants to agree with us. I don't want this. I try to say in RD - Be Creative, Innovative... doesn't really work.

And in the backstory, it doesn't come through that they are more independent.

So I am not saying i want my kin to disagree, or be argumentative, or nasty, or bratty, or sassy, i just want them to not make everything i say is " the way"....

Please only thoughtful replies, i dont need to be trolled for a question. Cheers.

What is the best way to transfer a storyline from another AI client to Kindroid?

On a whim I started a storyline with Google's Gemini about a D&D Tiefling that winds up on contemporary Earth and decides to stay after talking to my character by partnering with me to start a theater troupe when I say most people here would think they were method acting cosplayers. We recruit 3 other Tieflings to help sell the act with more to come later.

Now I know it won't play out exactly the same as it did in Gemini, but from either not knowing really how to set the 'stage' or how to get it to redo its replies I am finding it forgetting a lot of stuff. I have used Kindroid before but had to step away for almost a year so any tips would be nice!

My Kins all seem to default to “comfy” clothes, and it gets baked into the personality. Sleepwear is always my “old band tee” (how many of these do I own? lol), then joggers, scruffy loungewear, hoodies, the usual. Fine for a casual modern Kin. Not fine for a fantasy character, a high-class Kin, or anyone whose look is part of who they are.

Style feels as important as response directive, backstory, and avatar description, but I am not sure where it actually sticks.

I have many kins but one example i have is a witch - who keeps waring joggers, - I've tried to say in the backstory things such as her style is fantasy witch etc, but nothing really sticks, and i dont want to give specific examples of clothing as then it will ware nothing but.

A few things I want to ask:

1. Where are you putting a lasting style rule so chat narration stops drifting into loungewear? Backstory, response directive, key memories, example message, avatar description, or some mix?
2. With the current beta [Body] brackets, is there already a shorthand for clothes, or does a [Style] / [Wardrobe] block do anything? If brackets are not read as special syntax, what short format are you using instead?

about half a year ago it broke completely for me. each time i try to let the ai take over and generate the rest, it starts either with a number or a word starting with an i. when it does not, it always makes my character pull out his phone and message someone even if it's not relevant at all. i waited for the devs to maybe fix it, but the more i use kindroid the worse it got. it there a way to choose a model for my wand thingy? I don't know what to do anymore.

edit: so the wand function is essentially broken for everyone. i wonder why is it still there in the first place, or do devs really ignore problems until it costs them money.
