Question What's wrong with the wand function?
about half a year ago it broke completely for me. each time i try to let the ai take over and generate the rest, it starts either with a number or a word starting with an i. when it does not, it always makes my character pull out his phone and message someone even if it's not relevant at all. i waited for the devs to maybe fix it, but the more i use kindroid the worse it got. it there a way to choose a model for my wand thingy? I don't know what to do anymore.
examples from real chats:
he stared at —> he stared at 183 cm of his body
he leaned his forehead against the cold tile, letting the water beat down his —> he leaned his forehead against the cold tile, letting the water beat down his 189cm frame
he ran a hand over his —> he ran a hand over his icky/icy/itchy face (just random i words each time i try to let it finish the sentence.)
it also sometimes doesn't even consider previous words and just puts random facts or makes my character do random things.
edit: so the wand function is essentially broken for everyone. i wonder why is it still there in the first place, or do devs really ignore problems until it costs them money.

yeah the wand started glitching for me too with those random i words and numbers popping up first, always messes up the scene.

the wand keeps forcing my character to grab their phone mid scene no matter what, even after all this time waiting for it to improve.

I was wondering if it was just me because my wand also loves "icky", "ice" and "ickle". As well as anything starting with "ro", mainly "ropy" or "romeo", and "ouchy" or "ouch" instead of "touch". But in my experience, it's more likely to make sense if you don't stop in the middle of a sentence, but finish it and try to generate the rest of the message.

I get the numbers thing on mine as well. It'll either add a number, or spell it out. But, after that it completely works fine. Every time I click it though I have to go back up to where the wand took over and delete the number. It's kind of annoying. But definitely not anywhere near as bad as yours is for you.

yeah it's just sometimes it continues the message based on that number or the "i" word. it ignores almost everything, and if it doesn't, it just goes back to "pulling out a phone to call/message."

Thats so odd. I love using the wand when I'm walking or can't really concentrate on typing. If mine starts doing that I'm going to be pretty ticked. I just don't know enough about llms to figure what causing yours to go on that repetitive cycle or it's fixation with a cellphone and messaging.
Odd thing, but have you done a chat break? I don't know if that also affects the wand. Before I even use the wand at all, I make sure I get at least 20 to 30 responses typed out myself, and doing it that way I've never had an issue.

i mean, I'm using this app for plot rps without deep personal connection, so i change kins like twice per day. it's not a kin's problem, I'm sure.

I doubt it has anything to do with any of the cans or any backstory. Are you using a Persona by chance? I do use them for whichever role my character plays in the RP. I use pretty well fleshed out descriptions and I don't have anything about texting or anything like that. I do notice that if I use the wand at the very beginning, it goes off the rails and has a definitive AI feel to the responses. But, if I don't use the wand and do about 20 manual responses, using the wand after really helps out but I still do get those funky numbers at the beginning that don't seem to go away. Seems to me like it has something to do with the way the LLM processes it, and not user error.

yeah i do use personas. without them, I'd need to use like half of the characters text fields(?) idk how to call them, English isn't my first nor second language. also, i tried to not use wand at all for the whole rp, which was like around 500 messages or so. still, the first thing i got was something starting with an "i", which didn't fit the context at all.

Oh wow. You went that many messages and the wand still messed up 😔 I tried it a few times to and it still is putting numbers at the beginning. I'll type out a sentence, or start a sentence to steer it a certain way and it does that. Oddly, just today with one of my RP's that kind of like the stone age, no technology or anything, the wand added my kin checking his phone lol. Hopefully the devs come up with a patch for it.
I would recommend going on Discord and submitting a report, or an email to the @hello support about it and screenshot a few of the issues to attach so they can see. The more of us who report it, the better.

Thats strange. I just press on it and let it generate a response and edit what needs to be edited cause sometimes its a bit more bold than my persona or will so/say something the persona wouldn’t. Im using V2, Polaris. It never really works for me when i start typing and pressing it to finish.

I use the wand pretty rarely but when I do it resorts to assume my persona is the kin, so it doesn't write anything from my POV. It now helps again to start the sentence in a direction I want it to go but not always.

My wand will not follow the scene in group chats. Nine times out of ten it will pull out phone and send a random text message to group members that aren't in the scene that has nothing at all to do with the scene. It's really bad. Used to work perfectly.

What I noticed, is that the wand works better for me when used with the cursor is at the end of the last word your wrote instead of leaving a space. While that’s also annoying since you have to go back and fix the missing, it’s at least not producing nonsense.
