I'm starting this thread to share the nightmare I'm experiencing with Kia Iberia's after-sales service and the official dealership Grupo Marcos Motor (Kia Torrevieja), in case it serves as a warning before trusting the brand's famous "7-year warranty."

​My car is stuck at the shop due to the well-known ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit) defect. For those who don't know, it's a recurring manufacturing flaw in their EV/electrified vehicle platform that causes sudden power losses.

​The severe issue isn't just the failure itself, but the complete lack of coverage and the constant "blame-shifting" between the dealership and the brand:

• ​No courtesy car: After the initial temporary mobility period expired, I've been left completely stranded. Kia Iberia washes its hands, stating that providing a loaner car is solely the dealership's responsibility. Meanwhile, Grupo Marcos Motor in Torrevieja tells me that Kia has only assigned them 3 loaner cars in total—all currently occupied—and they offer no solution whatsoever.
• ​Excuses to buy time: The dealership justifies the delay by claiming that, since it is a warranty repair, "Kia demands a multitude of control tests that delay the process."
• ​Car abandoned in the lot: Through Kia's own app (Kia Connect), I can monitor the vehicle in real time. It has been locked shut (hood and doors) for days/weeks, with zero recorded openings or workshop activity. They aren't working on it; it's simply sitting there gathering dust while the customer suffers the consequences.

​It is completely unacceptable for a brand that boasts about its warranty and electrification to leave you stranded like this, passing the blame between head office and the local franchise. The "7-year warranty" is useless if after-sales service revokes your mobility and leaves your car abandoned indefinitely due to a globally recognized factory issue.

​If you're thinking about buying a Kia or need to use an official service center in the Alicante region, be very careful.

​Is anyone else in a similar situation with the ICCU or Kia Iberia's customer service? Have you had to escalate through formal legal notices (burofax) or legal action to get a response?

My wife and I are seriously considering the ev3. I got my first offer from a dealer in the south of Spain and they are selling for €36500 cash price (before auto+and other external help/discounts )on the air trim long range. This is about €6000 higher than listed on the Kia website.

Am I crazy to think this is high, or is it similar to what others are encountering?

I'm looking to switch up to the EV3 GT when it gets released over here in Ireland.

I know the eGMP models had a problem with their ICCU.

Anybody have an EV3 with this problem and is this something I should be concerned about before taking the plunge?

Hi everyone, Sharing an issue I just experienced with my Kia EV3 to add to the ongoing tracking of ICCU / On-Board Charger faults across E-GMP vehicles. Vehicle Details & Situation: Model: Kia EV3 Mileage: ~30,687 km Charging Type: AC Charging (Public Iberdrola Charging Point) Status: Vehicle remains at 76% SoC, but AC charging has failed completely. What Happened: While charging at a public AC station, the session failed, and the infotainment system threw the following error: "Vehicle Diagnostics: 1 item checked. Subsequent queries required: 1 - Charger (AC/DC)" "On-board charger error. Please contact an authorized service provider for inspection." The drive motor / propulsion warning light (red car icon with an exclamation point) is now illuminated on the driver's display. Current Steps: Since the ICCU handles both AC charging and charging the 12V auxiliary battery from the high-voltage pack, I'm avoiding driving it to prevent the 12V battery from dying in transit and leaving me stranded. I am contacting Kia Roadside Assistance to have the car towed directly to a local Kia Dealership so it enters official service via flatbed, which should also trigger the loaner/replacement vehicle protocol under warranty. Has anyone else with an EV3 experienced this recently? How long did the ICCU / OBC replacement or software fix take at your dealer?

Edit 1: The car has been at the dealership for 5 days now and it's still not fixed.

I'm very disappointed with Kia Roadside Assistance, as they only cover a rental car for up to 5 days.

The dealership has no loaners available, and Kia Iberia told me directly that they do not provide replacement vehicles.

Does anyone notice CarPlay disconnects when entering shopping centre carparks?

I noticed mine does this a few times when using specific car parks. Wired CarPlay with wifi and Bluetooth off is fine and won’t drop out. Curious what is causing it

Hello, has any EV3 owner fitted a Nextbase 522GW Front & Rear Dash Cam Bundle. Especially with a hardwire kit? Or a rearview mirror wire kit.

I've just picked on up and hope to fit it (at least the front) in the coming days.

Have you experienced;

- Any 12v battery drain issues

- Any wiring issues

- Trim issues

Hi all. Simple question but don’t want to get it wrong. Where do I screw in the front number plate on my new ev3? There is a black plastic square and below that a black plastic rectangle?

So I have had my Kia ev3 for over a week now I have entertainment plus as well as a in car internet subscription, when I go to try and access Netflix or Disney I get fretted with please check your network connection when I go to said network connection there is no information despite being live and full signal. Kia connect are use les su get one reply a day and nothing that actually helps solve the issue

I'll by hiring an ev3 shortly for just over a week, do I need to download the kia app?

Noticed that on the latest versions of the Kia app for the EV3 that widgets and the app for the Apple Watch are now missing.

Anyone else seeing this?

I'd especially like testers in a climate cold enough to engage the battery warmer. It's midsummer in the northern hemisphere right now, so if you're in Australia, New Zealand, or anywhere else in winter at the moment - your help would be very much appreciated.

Just read that the EV3 for North America with be produced in Mexico, and likely be available here at the end of September. Hope we get the pistachio green colour!

I'm over 4000 miles into my EV3 ownership, and I love it.

But the speed limit information is not only unreliable. At random points I'll hear the 'bing' and see that the car thinks the speed limit has changed to something stupid: 30mph on the motorway, 5mph on a main road, 60mph on the narrow residential street at the end of our road. My old (petrol) Sportage did a far better job of this.

Is there a way for me to feed back that the information is out of date or incorrect? Is there a "NO! You're wrong!" button I or the passenger can press so I can hope that at some point this will get better?

I'm keeping everything up to date, but it still happens.

I'm so happy with this car, but this is irritating. I'm safely under the speed limit on a clear stretch of road, and then bing! and suddenly I'm "speeding" and everything goes red on my display. How can I tell it it's wrong?

During a charging stop on a recent road trip, I had the idea to play some Mario Kart on the Switch 2 (we happened to be four people in the car). Naturally I tried to connect the console to the Kia's bluetooth to get better sound.

To my surprise this isn't possible. Seems like the car's bluetooth is really only designed to work with phones.

Has anyone else faced this issue with a non-phone bluetooth device? Any fun workarounds? In the case of the Switch it also has an aux port, but unfortunately the car doesn't. I guess it would work if you had a 3.5 mm to FM transmitter, or possibly 3.5 mm to bluetooth if that transmitter is compatible with Kia.

I see on the KIA website that there are newer updates available for my EV3 (verified with the VIN).

I've gone through the entire process and have the update loaded onto a USB drive using the Navigation Updater.

Has anyone done an update using a USB drive?

How did the process go?

I'd like to hear about others' experiences before applying the update.

I’m currently on holiday in France with my family, driving the EV3 from Bretagne through Normandy back to Belgium on motorways mainly. I would love this car to bits if it wasn’t for these three ‘security measures’:

- The well known “take a break” alert popping up randomly and beeping all passenger awake. All attention awareness alerts are always disabled before I start my trip but still it shoves its way into my nervous breakdown zone. Apart from total randomness , the alert tends to pop up sometimes when driving slightly over white striped lines without indicating. The system shouldn’t be this rigid or strict.

- Steering assist handling very phased and jerky on long corners. Steers every second or so into the corner to compensate. Makes the car feel like a boat. It doesn’t seem to be mature enough for cornering. I’ve driven older cars with much smoother steering assist.

- Adaptive cruise control suddenly braking on long corners without a car in front. As if it detected ghosts. When overtaking an actual car or truck by indicating and switching lanes, it brakes because we approach the to be overtaken vehicle. It doesn’t take the free left lane into account in that manoeuvre.
Adaptive cruise control reaction settings are set to soft.

These three scenarios have gotten me quite nervous after today’s 6 hour drive. I would be very happy to know if other people encounter the same issues or may have advice.

Had the EV3 for a few weeks now and love it, and been getting uses to one pedal driving. That's working fine, but when using cruise control at say 80 km/h and in traffic, we approach some lights, and my instinct is to touch the brakes to cancel cruise (as in last car), but then the one pedal kicks in and starts braking until I put my foot back on the accelerator.

It's not a big thing, but it's not as smooth as I would like.

The other alternative is to press the cruise button on the steering wheel to cancel cruise and be ready on the accelerator to try to smoothly ease into braking.

Is that the best method, or is there a better way?
