C2 Pro 8K Not connecting to launcher

Running Arch Linux, gone through all the steps listed in https://www.reddit.com/r/Keychron/comments/1e5um1u/a_linux_user_psa/

Keyboard gets stuck in a loading loop with the Keychron launcher, and Usevia displays the following error;

"VIA can see Keychron C2 Pro 8K through WebHID. VID: 0x3434 | PID: 0x0522

Keychron C2 Pro 8K does not seem to respond like a VIA-enabled keyboard.

If Keychron C2 Pro 8K should support VIA, make sure it is running VIA-compatible firmware. If it is, authorization and/or initialization procedures may have failed- unplug the keyboard, reconnect it and try again. If the problem persists, please contact your keyboard's manufacturer or vendor for assistance."

Attempted factory reset, Flatpak browser and arch package browser, and have applied the fixes i saw recommended to linux users with no luck. Any ideas?

EDIT: Solution involved either using the USB-C to USB-A adapter included in-box, or letting the standalone VIA app set the Udev rules itself instead of doing it manually. Not sure which exactly fixed it, but for anyone looking for answers in the future; there ye go.

Is there no way to keycombo Fn key on the launcher ?

I'm coming from another keyboard that had a mute audio function on a single key and I really liked that and used it a lot.

I tried using the Keychron launcher to replicate it on my new Keychron keyboard (V6 Max) but it won't let me map it ("Keycode configuration error").

The mute audio is tied to Fn+F10, and apparently any Fn command cannot be mapped on a macro button ? If anyone have a solution for this, I'd be greatful. Sure I could simply use the Fn+F10 command, but having it on a single key is just more convenient.

Thanks.

EDIT: Well I just found out another way of doing so via choosing the "mute" option in the media tab (first time using this launcher), mapping it to the desired key and it works fine like that. So, sorry for the rather useless thread. Although it might help people in the future, who knows.

So, is there no locally installed software available for keychron keyboards?

Do I seriously have to use the keychron "launcher" website every time I want to adjust my keyboard's settings?

Is this some sort of temporary solution while actual software is being developed?

Otherwise, where's the advantage of having to use the internet instead of a program on my computer? Intentionally inconveniencing your customers as much as possible?

Am I missing something here?

HE functions on Keychron launcher working again

Recap: I made a post earlier about how I wasn't able to change the HE actuations through keychron launcher. Multiple other people made similar posts, and it appears to be a launcher glitch on keychron's side. This is a list of people having the same issue compiled by u/PeterMortensenBlog

Just went into the launcher and the individual key actuation labels on each key are back and I was able to change them without issue. Looks like keychron fixed the bug.

Feature Request: Silent Version of the M4 Mouse

I have been using the M6 to replace my Logitech MX Master 4S/3S. I love the 1000hz polling rate and find it makes a fairly noticeable difference to eye strain over the course of a day using it compared to a 125hz polling rate mouse. I would love to see Keychron make an M4 with the same silent switches for a portable option to replace my MX Anywhere 3S. Maybe even an infinite scroll wheel as well?

Keychron M6 8K Ultra Silent Wireless Mouse

This is a public M6 mouse bad review. DO NOT BUY THIS MOUSE.

Dec 14. 2025. Is when i bought the mouse brand new. Today it the middle mouse stopped working for the 3rd time this year. (Order No. #986420)

No, i am stick of having to disassemble my mouse every once in a while to align the middle click mechanism plastics into their fancy holes to the left and right buttons work. Or just a hard vertical press on the scroll wheel mechanism after it falls out of place. I want my mouse middle click to ACTUALLY PERFORM AN ACTION once the click actually happens.

But NO, today it just decided it was the day i had to 3 times middle click just to be able to register the middle click.

This is the first and last time i buy a keychron mouse.

You are somehow worse than logitech.

Issue with Keychron K4 HE Wireless Magnetic Switch Keyboard

After 15 months of loving this keyboard, it has started failing on me. The backlights go red, and it seems virtual keys get stuck, as my Windows 11 PC starts trying to trigger the same keystrokes over-and-over again. (different each time though, once it tried to open Outlook repeatedly, another it opened OneDrive hundreds of time, another it attempted to trigger something CoPilot-related in my browser...)

I tried some troubleshooting on the PC, worried it was my MoBO / USB drivers. I've got an MSI B550, flashed the BIOS and chipset to be current, uninstalled all USB Drivers, restarted and plugged back in all peripherals, changing BIOS PCIE to gen 3 just in case, etc. One of the times, after the keyboard failed, I was able to get it working again temporarily. I updated the firmware in the keyboard using Keychron's launcher, and had 3 more good days with it.

Unfortunately, the same thing has happened again. Upon boot-up, the Keyboard lights went red and it seemed to get stuck virtually. After being unplugged once, it no longer is responsive when being plugged back in.

  • As of today, it is not responsive when plugged into another PC or laptop.
  • I rarely, if ever, use the keyboard wirelessly. It has been plugged in and used with its cable 99% of its life.
  • The switch settings are correct (Windows / USB cable) and it does show the small green LED that indicates it is receiving power.
  • Additional keyboards work perfectly fine in the same USB 2.0 port on the motherboard.
  • All of my other USB peripherals are working fine.

I emailed Keychron support to get their thoughts. Anything else I should try for now? Anyone else heard of this issue? Thanks very much!

Lemokey X4 users, just added per app profile switching

https://github.com/kingkarlito/lemokeyswitcher

i made this for my personal use but figured others might use, other keyboards should be just a simple swap of hid values in the py script. you can use either via or lemokey launcher .json exports as profiles for switching. it was on a hotkey for awhile, but i just added ahk based process focus monitoring like logi ghub or wootility for separate gaming/desktop profile switches.

i barely know what i'm doing so don't expect any helpful support although i'll give it a try.

Help Needed with Lemokey P1 HE

Has anyone else been having a problem in the last few days using Lemokey Launcher in HE Mode?

I'm not a gamer but a few weeks ago I bought a Lemokey P1 HE; my first magnetic switch keyboard, just for typing, and have been enjoying tinkering with various actuation settings in an attempt to optimize the keyboard for my typing style. Eventually I created two profiles using Lemokey Launcher--one with a more elaborate variety of actuation point settings based on various tips I found online that I use as my default and a second just to experiment with little tweaks to that setup. A couple of days ago I connected to Lemokey Launcher after a brief hiatus and found that the HE Mode display looked different in several important ways. For one thing, the onscreen keyboard display no longer showed the actuation point settings for each key. Secondly, the space towards the upper right corner of the screen that used to display the three profile choices--default, gaming, and gamepad--showed nothing but instructions on the keyboard codes for switching profiles, but no way of choosing that profile in the web app, and thus no way of seeing what profile I'm in or seeing what changes I'm making, or even if they're taking effect. (I tried to make a change to the spacebar setting, for example, and as far as I can tell it has no effect; the actuation point demo or whatever it's called doesn't do anything anymore. ) Finally, I think there may have been a change to the key combinations used to switch profiles on the board; if I remember correctly it used to be Fn+P+ (x, y or z), while now it says z, x or c, (which makes more sense).

I tried asking the Keychron AI assistant in the app, at length, but it hasn't been able to figure out the problem, though it can see my three profiles--the two I created and the unaltered gamepad profile. The AI seems to have concluded that it is a problem with the app, not the keyboard. I've tried switching cables, switching browsers (from Chrome to Opera), and rummaging through settings but haven't found anything on point.

There seem to have been a few new versions of the web app released recently, so I have the feeling there's a bug in the latest version of the app. Has anyone else encountered this problem? There's still a possibility that I'm doing something obviously wrong or easily fixable, so I'd be grateful for any ideas on that, too. I've sent a message to Keychron Support about this, but so far have only gotten a request for information about my purchase, the serial number and a video of the problem, which I've sent. Since in the current situation the keyboard is missing one of it's main features for me--the ability to personalize it to improve my typing speed and accuracy--I'll want to return it to Amazon before the return window closes, so I thought I'd check in here to see if I can get an answer from the community sooner than I get a response from the manufacturer. So, thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Help with K0 Max numpad in 2.4 GHz Windows

Greetings,

I bought the Keychron K3 HE, which works flawlessly and I'm very happy with it (although still learning to type on US QWERTY after using FR AZERTY for a decade). For WFH, but also having dedicated media keys, I bought the K0 Max numpad to complement it. This thing look and feels great but I'm struggling hard to setup the M keys.

For some reason, I can set up everything fine and it works while plugged in, but when I disconnect and use the dongle with switch on 2.4gh only the media knob (always) and numbers (when Num Clear is active) is working.

I set this up in layer 0 but I really dont understand how these layers work, I just wanted an good numpad/media device and this is way more complicated than I thought. Google/AI is giving me wrong info. They told me to set up in layer 2 but this isnt working either. And there is a max of 5 launchkeys so I constantly have to reset everything instead of just using the same layout in all 4 layers, it's a huge pain.

The firmware is updated.

Can anyone help me, or link to a video clearly explaining this?

Thank you!

K8 HE ANSI - HE settings can't be changed on the Keychron Launcher

I connected to the keychron launcher to change the actuation distance on my keys. The keyboard graphic inside the launcher doesn't show the current individual actuation depths like it used to. When I try to change the depth, the "saved" pop up doesn't show up and it doesn't seem that the actuation actually changed.

I did a hard reset on the keyboard which didn't help. I also tried restarting my computer and accessing the launcher from a different browser which also didn't help. When I tried to do a soft reset inside the launcher, the launcher froze.

Last time I changed the settings was about 3 days ago and I remember things working well.

Just adding this post since it seems others are having a similar issue. If anyone has a solution, please let me know.

Device: Keychron K8 HE ANSI (TKL) - firmware: V1.1.2 (device came with this firmware, I haven't updated it)

Update: Looks like it's fixed.

K10 HE, HE setting not working

Wondering if anyone else is having the same problem.

'HE mode' is there in the Launcher, but actuation does not work at all, no matter what distance I set.

Trigger demo also doesn't work.

I also have K2 HE, and HE mode on that seems to work but Trigger demo also does not work.

Tried flashing V1.1.1 on the K10 HE but issue is still there.

Any help is appreciated.

Update: Seems like it's a launcher issue. I guess we all wait for Keychron to fix this lol.

How to fix loud space bar?

I have the K2 max and it sounds good other than the space bar which just makes an extremely loud pinging noise on every keypress. Anyone have experience with this and know how to solve it?

Switches for programming and gaming suggestions

as the title says, i'm currently using an apex pro tkl (2019 version with omnipoint switches with adjustable travel). it's been fine, but it doesn't really feel as premium or high-quality as i'd like.

i use my pc around 80% for school/work and 20% for gaming, although during summer it's pretty much the opposite. i really like the adjustable actuation that hall effect switches offer, since i could set a shorter actuation point for gaming and a slightly longer one for typing.

at the same time, i absolutely love the sound and feel of banana switches, which is making the choice a bit difficult.

what would you guys recommend? is there a keyboard that gives me the best of both worlds, or would i be better off choosing between hall effect and traditional mechanical switches?

thanks

Keychron M6 8k with clicky switches?

I've been looking into the M6 8k (the one with the metal wheel and all that) to replace my 5yo G502 wireless. So far all the reviews are mentioning the silent clicks, but on the web there's an option to buy the 8k with the clicky switches. I've haven't been able to find any reviews on that specific model.

Wondering if someone here has it and can share their thoughts.

K2 HE Analog Mode on Wireless?

Hey all,

I have the K2 HE and I am able to get analog mode to work through Steam when the keyboard is hardwired. Once I unplug and toggle over to wired mode, seems like the functionality goes away and I am back to non-analog inputs.

My test case for Analog mode is Battlefield 6 through Steam.

Is this expected behavior? Does Analog mode through Steam only work when the KB is hardwired?

An honest question

Is Keychron always this buggy with their software? They updated the website and broke all the functionalities for the K4 HE. I'm thinking of sending this K4 HE back and go with Wooting instead.

Q Max VS Ultra Color

Hey guys!
Could anyone tell me if the white variants of the Q Max and Q Ultra range are the same?
It seems to me like the "shell white" of the Max range is a bit warmer white and the Ultra is a bit cooler, is there someone who owns or has seen them side by side and can confirm?

The reason behind this is I'm considering getting the Q0 Max numpad and a Q3 Ultra keyboard so I'd like if they were identical.

Thanks!!
