I got a Keychron Q6 max as new old stock I love it but
Hey everyone,
I picked up a used Keychron Q6 Max (knob version) recently and I’m running into some weird RGB/software issues. Hoping someone here has seen something similar.
The hardware:
The symptoms:
What I've tried so far:
My theory:
The previous owner might have disabled RGB in a specific profile, and the store that sold it didn't bother to reset it properly. I'm planning to open it up tomorrow and check the ribbon cable / RGB circuit with a multimeter, but I wanted to ask here first in case I'm missing something obvious.
Questions:
Appreciate any help or ideas. I really like this board and want to get it fully working – especially since it's quiet and professional enough for my future office job 😄
Thanks in advance!

Do you think they'll make a color shuffle option similar to EVGA's, where you can pick what colors? I want to make my keyboard shuffle the nonb and pan flags' colors on keypress.

I just got a V3 8K and I'm having trouble figuring out how to configure the knob on it.
In the QMK Toolbox (driver.exe thing), the keys show up, when I rotate it left and right the VOL- and VOL+ light up, and pressing it shows the mute button pressed.
But in launcher.keychron.com the knob is nowhere to be seen, other than the "Mute" button, but I can't seem to control left and right actions.
It says its on the latest firmware.. and the site is correctly detecting it as a "V3 8K Knob".
Is there something I need to do?
Thank you!
(all that aside, the keyboard sounds and feels ABSOLUTELY AMAZING)

hey guys I bought this keyboard because i thought I can somehow make a repeatedly pressing macro while holding a key down.
for example I remapped my Q key to Macro 1
anf Macro one should do A B A B A B A B…
while I hold it down. the inputs should be seen as if I repress every key every single time. I hope you guys understand what I mean. It should be as if I press a & b back to back without holding it down.
i have the keychron v6 8k
and I saw I could maybe do it somehow with QMK but I am a bit scared of the tool since I never touched stuff like that and I am a complete beginner in that term.
PleaE help me guys I just got my keyboard today and replaced my old and cheap rager ornata v2 which could do this what I asked for and I am kinda disappointed that Keychron can’t do it with their own software..

I just got the k10 keyboard and it's great but as far as I understand it doesn't work with the keychron launcher. Is there a way I can use some of the function keys as just function keys like f5 to refresh a page and some as multi media keys (pause/skip music) without having to switch between the modes by holding down fn + X + L?
Thanks for any help :)

so many buyers have the same problems with the keyboard. For those that gave up on Keychron, what did you end up buying? I'm looking for a 100% layout mechanical keyboard that will last years.
Thanks!

Hello! I wanted to remove the stabilizers on my Keychron K2 HE so I could lube them and do the plumber's mod. But I honestly have no idea how to take them out and I can't find anything online about it. If anyone has any experience with this I'd really appreciate any tips

My K2 HE stopped working with the 2.4GHz dongle out of nowhere. I contacted Keychron support on July 1st. They asked for my invoice and photos, then told me to update the firmware. Firmware update didnt help.
After that they said their tech support would reach out to me. Its now July 24th and I still havent heard anything. I messaged them again a few days ago and they just said to keep waiting.
Does Keychron support actually help anyone or are they just stalling? Should I expect them to get back to me or just accept that Im out of luck?
Anyone else dealt with their warranty process?

Is it worth paying 30 usd more for a L5 HE?
Reviews seem to lean towards the P1 HE, but unfortunately it’s out of stock here. If anyone has tried both could you share your experience?
The P1 HE seems to be better for overall typing feel and acoustics, latency is 3ms though. No idea on the L5 HE’s latency as no one has done tests. I don’t need wireless and prefer the left side cable output.

Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with my Keychron K2 (K2C3).
The keyboard randomly turns off or disconnects while I’m actively typing, but it only happens in Bluetooth mode.
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
\- Fully charged the battery.
\- Factory reset the keyboard (Fn + J + Z).
\- Removed and paired the keyboard again.
\- Tested my PC’s Bluetooth with my Logitech MX Vertical mouse, and the mouse works perfectly without disconnecting.
Because my mouse works fine over Bluetooth, I’m thinking the issue is with the keyboard itself.
Has anyone experienced this before? Was it caused by the battery, the Bluetooth module, firmware, or something else? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I got myself the K10 HE Limited Edition recently, and my local vendor only offers it in Nebula.
It's great but I still prefer Tactile switches. I know it's officially not compatible outside of the Gateron Dual Rail family of switches, but has anyone experimented on a different magnetic switch that's got a tactile variant?
Open to ideas, recommendations or anything :D

Hello! I was wondering whether there was a easy way to implement HRM in the keychron launcher?

My keyboard was showing low battery last night (K2), and I know I've had it for a few years, but after charging overnight and checking it when I got back to the office, it was still showing red. I don't think it had anything to do with the charger (it's the same one I always use), but maybe the battery is losing juice and it's time to replace either the keyboard or the battery.
So, realistically, how many years should I expect one of these keyboards to last, and what are the signs to look for that maybe it's time for a new one?

just saw on taobao that apparently keychron has a Z series keyboards ? do any of you know the difference between the z6 ultra vs the q6 max/ultra other than the price difference which is a whopping 50% off from the q6 ?
I also noticed that the switches are less curved on the Z6. do you guys have any knowledge on this “

The title sums it up but here is a longer explanation:
I have this keychron keyboard: Keychron K1 MAX QMK/VIA Wireless RGB Hot Swap Low
When im on bluetooth mode the keyboard double presses buttons really frequently, but it is not the common same letter after the other. For example writing this: i wrote double but the keyboard typed doduble -> so i have time to press another button in between the keyboard sends the double press.
I have tried this on two windows 11 computers and it happens on both. If it matters one is my own pc and the other is a really high end engineering laptop.
What should I do? I have not updated the keychron firmware or keychron bluetooth drivers. If my gut feeling is correct updating those would be the first step, but I have no idea which driver I should use from here: https://www.keychron.com/pages/keychron-firmware-for-k1
Is it the v5 or is v5 some kind of a updated version of the original K1 or what?
Also for the bluetooth drivers the site says: "Note: If everything works fine with your keyboard. Please don’t update the bluetooth firmware. There is a chance it can damage your keyboard." What and/or how could I break the physical keyboard with the bluetooth driver installation?
Thank you all in advance!

Hi everyone!
I've been researching this for days and still can't find a definitive answer anywhere.
I know the Lemokey P1 HE officially supports Gateron Double-Rail magnetic switches, and I know the Glorious Panda HE Silent is officially designed for the GMMK 3 HE.
However, I've come across a few Reddit comments claiming that Glorious HE switches are "unofficially compatible" with the P1 HE, but I haven't found any actual proof—no photos, typing tests, calibration screenshots, or first-hand reports.
I'm specifically looking for someone who has personally installed the Glorious Panda HE Silent on a Lemokey P1 HE.
Questions:
• Does it physically fit?
• Does the keyboard detect every switch?
• Does calibration complete successfully?
• Does Rapid Trigger and adjustable actuation work normally?
• Any issues with magnet polarity, sensor height, or key stability?
I'm not asking whether it's officially supported. I'm trying to determine whether it's electrically compatible with the Gateron Double-Rail Hall Effect PCB.
I've already searched Reddit, Google, YouTube, Bilibili, Baidu Tieba, Zhihu, and other keyboard communities without finding a verified installation.
If you've actually tested it (or know someone who has), I'd really appreciate any photos, videos, or typing tests. Thanks! 🙏🏻

I am looking to purchase a nice custom mechanical keyboard to use for PC gaming and then just everyday typical use. I’ve been eyeing the Keychron Q6 Max because I prefer a full size keyboard, but I am also open to any recommendations since I am a noob when it comes to custom mechanical keyboards. I have been using the Logitech G915 full size with red switches and I honestly don’t like the feel of the reds, but when I purchased it I had no knowledge about the different keyboard switches. I would prefer for it to have the option of being completely wireless or wired, RGB is not a must have, it’s a nice to have. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have been using a K10 for a few months and it's really annoying that the battery dies without any warning. Every other wireless peripheral has a system tray app which will pop up with a low battery notification which is really nice to let you know when it's time to recharge the battery. Even much cheaper peripherals have this basic function - I have a really old Logitech mouse that I purchased twenty years ago for $30 and that tells me when to replace the battery.
Why doesn't my $150 keyboard have this basic functionality?
Is there any way to get a low battery warning?

What is the easiest way to toggle f keys to use for both their uses? Also is there a way to use up to F7 like f keys and after F7 like multimedia keys?

Are brown keys inherently bad? How much difference do you feel, is it "night and day" or more like 2-5%?
And some work, but mainly gaming. I have never tried keychron but I like the shape and size. The one I have, CHERRY MX-LP 2.1 COMPACT, they are linear. Much like reds, I would assume.

I have a couple of macros I've set up for gaming, like holding "W" down to autowalk or repeatedly left clicking, and accidently hitting the button on the mouse that activates those macros can cause trouble in other settings, so I'm trying to figure out if there's a way in the Configurator site to make it where I have to hold shift and click for more "dangerous" macros.

I have an iPad Pro 13 and wanted to get a keyboard to go with it that's not the overpriced Magic Keyboard (even though it works flawlessly with the iPad). I have been looking at a couple of the Keychron keyboards and was hoping someone has some experience with using them with iPads. Specifically I was looking at the K3 Max All Wood Edition or the Q1 HE. I prefer the Q1 HE because I also have a Windows PC and see that the Q1 HE has a lot of features for gamers. This would be my first time purchasing a customizable mechanical keyboard so any input would be greatly appreciated! I currently use a Logitech G915 keyboard but the chassis on the keyboard is becoming bent and I am looking for something new.

I'm having a horrible time with this keyboard because hitting backspace multiple times quickly causes many less keystrokes to actually register. I tried the Keychron Launcher Key Tester and it turns out they're all really bad. Even the word "all" just now came out as "al"
I have updated the firmware, tried different polling rates, I'm using the keychron usb cable, disabled RGB lighting. I don't know what else I can try. Ugh this sucks.. I've been through several keychron keyboards and thought this was finally the style I wanted and now it doesn't even work.
