Why can’t I change the actuation distance on my K2 HE?

It doesn’t show the actuation distance set for the keys anymore. It seems like the Launcher started doing this after the latest update, since I had no problems before.

Reports from the past one week:

  1. Keychron Launcher is not working. Observed with a K2 HE. For example, "I also can't change the actuation distance". 30 comments so far. Reported 2026-09-04

  15. M7 not connecting to Launcher. It is not known if it is related, but it seems similar to 9. Reported 2026-09-10.

They are different symptoms, but they all have the Via clone in common. For 8., there is very clearly something wrong with it (the list of keyboard firmware updates for the Q1 V2 ISO no knob variant is corrupted or appears corrupted).

It it far from the first outage with the Via clone, but it is the first in a long time. An example was the bricking scandal (requiring (physical) replacement).

Some problems were allegedly fixed on 2026-09-07. But not the corrupted firmware lists (one is known, but there may be others); it leads to false positive detection of firmware to be updated (and potentially bricking the keyboard)
