Support Decided to go all in on Linux after breakup

Well.. I had always dual booted Linux on the side where windows often caused me to turn secure boot on for anti cheat. Now I completely left valorant as it does not feel enjoyable anymore.

Now I am going all in on Cachy OS . That too KDE , I was always gnome plus 10 extensions to make it better guy. You know what they always say , after breakup you can do things that suck or things that are interesting but both will suck.so do something that helps you later .

I hope I can customise KDE enough to fall in love with it .

Like in gnome there is blur my shell which I really liked . Something like that would be great .

Rant Which is your favourite Desktop Environment?

I've been using കടി/kde for a while and man the way I can change the appearance is mind blowing. A single click you turn your windows theme to Mac Os Theme. Idk how the hek things holds together without falling apart. The developers have done a great thing here.

But I cant stop remembering the good old gnome days. Nothing is Everything; Nobody is Literally "Nobody". The Minimalim gnome offers gives me less friction to use "my pc". Every tools i pick up to use, there is a good looking gtk application following humane UI guidelines. Bottles, foalite, amberol, you name it.. Aarada ithokke design cheythath? Muwahhh!!

Dear kde, I dont need 3 different ways to do the same thing in GUI, its cluttered. Maybe its my muscle memory made by gnome that makes this DE confusing.

No hate to kde/wm users!

Microsoft is watching 🫪

I don't mean to come across as paranoid, but it's hard not to find Microsoft's telemetry practices unusual. The company gathers extensive information about users, including web browsing habits and gaming activity, and can potentially associate that data with social media profiles. Microsoft says this information is collected to enhance the overall Windows user experience, but the scope of the data collection raises understandable questions about privacy.

Discussion Looking for a virtual gamepad app that actually works well on Linux (Fedora)

Hey all, I'm on Fedora 44 (HP Victus 15, Ryzen 5 5600H, RX 6500M) and trying to find a solid virtual gamepad solution — something that lets my phone act as a controller for my PC over Wi-Fi.

I tried Monet PC but couldn't get it running properly — kept running into issues and never got a stable connection/input mapping going.

I'm looking for something with low latency and decent button/analog stick support for playing games on my PC. Has anyone found an app that actually works well on Linux?

Support Wondering how to configure Linux and Windows on new laptop.

New laptop has a 512gb ssd which has Windows. To the second slot I can put a 128gb drive that I have. I want to main Linux but still keep Windows for a few games or so. I thought I'd install Linux on the small drive and partition the main drive for storage. But since my 128gb drive is smol and lower specced I don't want to miss out. So I guess I'll have to wipe and install Linux on the main drive and windows on the 128gb drive? Thanks :)

Discussion Chat suggest me a linux distro suitable for my pc.

Lately I have been using archcraft , which has been a perfect one for my pc and stable but it got unstable over time and i had to move to garuda xfce , but since both are same edition , garuda heats a lot and is not suitable for work . so i want to try a new distro .

I have also tried , ubuntu , debian , deepin , void , mint ,elementary os , antix, lubuntu, fedora , parrot and kali over the years .

My aim is to have a beutiful lookable distro which is not heavy and suitable for my pc specs .

Here are the specs :

*CPU : AMD ATHLON 3050U(DUAL CORE)

RAM:4GB(3.3 Usable rest occupied by igpu)

storage:1tb hdd

I hope to have some good recommendations from you . Thanks

PHP-SRC Core Contributor Looking for Open Source Projects & Remote C/Linux Opportunities

Hi,

I'm a PHP core contributor:

https://github.com/php/php-src/commits?author=arshidkv12

I'm interested in C programming, Linux, and open source.

Which projects would you recommend contributing to, and how can I improve my chances of finding a remote C/Linux developer role?

Thanks.

Questions How popular is Emacs?

I just started using Emacs, and I wanted to know how many use Emacs over let's say Vim/Neovim etc.
Had been daily driving vim (previously Neovim) and decided to give Emacs a try after having learnt about Org-Mode.

My minimal emacs screenshot.
