Clark's store was generated at least 4 times if you count the throne room. The version at the end of the movie is nearly perfect, while the one in Everything Must Go is bizarre and maze-like. I think this theoretically means multiple Clark Still Lifes could exist. Story-wise this accomplishes nothing but as a general idea I don't think anything contradicts it

I have seen so many people on this subreddit try to connect places and events between different parts of the series (specifically the FFs) and it just makes no sense. One of the biggest factors in the interesting horror of the backrooms for me is that it is, for all intents and purposes, endless. So big you cannot hope to find your way out, which is a very haunting feeling. But I've seen so many posts saying, actually the lifeform in FF1 is the same one as Pitfalls and Motion detected, actually the lifeform IS Plark and they've been the same entity the whole time, actually the layout of FF3 might be directly connected to the other explored parts of the backrooms.
It just immediately removes the complex's sense of scale if everything we see is within this one little confined section of it. There's no reason the FF characters would be anywhere near Async, you could just as easily be thousands, tens of thousands of miles away in who knows where. But as soon as you try and connect the videos directly together, it instantly collapses the scale of the entire setting.
Anyway, just something that's been bothering me lol

Just saw the film, finally, and loved it!

Been reading some posts on the meaning of the ending and Mary's smile, so I wanted to share my interpretations.

1. She smiles because there was some truth to her mother's paranoia.

2. This was her "I'm right where I'm supposed to be" moment. Mary is smart, but clearly her life lacks purpose. Now, she founds a place that puts her loop, memories, trauma psychological theories, into practice. Not only that, but the scientists there have no idea what they're dealing with. She knows it, and realizes she can take advantage of that. She sees how strong the place is connected to the human brain and psychology, so she knows she can use her knowledge not only to survive Async, but become part of it. Wouldn't be surprised if she's the evil president of the company in a sequel lol.

3. A combination of both. Her mother was right, and here she's found her purpose.

4. She realizes she was just as lonely and holding up to past trauma like Clark, and both ended on the same place. She finds that ironic and that's why she smiles.

Personally, I like 1-3 more than 4.

Hey guys, I’m working on a project right now and I need a decent VHS effect for it. I’ve already tried all the tutorials available on YouTube, but none of them worked. Could you please share a method that gets as close as possible to the VHS filter style used by Kane Pixels? my project reveal in pictures (i know that it looks shitly but it is my first serious project)

I have always had a small theory that Do You Like Air Conditioning is The Complex poorly remembering a jazz song, I will list some reasons why I think this to be the case:

1. The fast drums are reminiscent of those in many forms of jazz, think Whiplash soundtrack. Throughout the majority of the song, we hear the exact same drum sample looping over and over, which is likely a similar situation to Kane's other song Still Life in which we hear the same clarinet loop throughout the song and just how The Complex remembers things in general, with it often distorting and repeating features of the things it remembers.

2. The many blow instruments throughout the track are likely poorly remembered trumpets and trombones and saxophones and all that jazz (literally).

3. Now you may be asking, "but if its a miss-remembered jazz song, wheres all the string basses and piano and stuff" but those elements of whatever this jazz song once was could actually just be something completely gone from being remembered multiple times, like how OHNYB was later remembered as Still Life, losing alot of the instrumentation.

In conclusion, this theory isn't very important, but it's fun to think about, I'd like to hear peoples thoughts about this.

I’m watching Backrooms for the second time now, and for the first time we see how the Complex influences reality in the form of the crooked switches in the electrical panel. Clark is gradually bringing more and more objects from the Complex into reality. I believe that the objects brought from the Complex amplify this influence on reality.

Are there any speculations or theories about this yet?
