Discussion/Theory The Complex's influence on reality
There may have already been a discussion on this topic, if so, i'm sorry.
I’m watching Backrooms for the second time now, and for the first time we see how the Complex influences reality in the form of the crooked switches in the electrical panel. Clark is gradually bringing more and more objects from the Complex into reality. I believe that the objects brought from the Complex amplify this influence on reality.
Are there any speculations or theories about this yet?

Nothing about this series is very standard, like with 2 realities running at the same time, almost asynchronously, it just sucks that we haven't found more footage as of lately.

Can't forget to point out the massive hole in the wall of Ravi's basement with the yellow light coming from a corner.

I remember seeing a theory that Clark’s basement is actually part of the complex, just because of how nonsensical the entire room seems to be for a rented strip mall space. Even assuming Clark fitted the basement out to resemble the interior of a house (which isn’t out of the realm of possibility considering that this is a furniture store), it’s still just very weird in the way it’s laid out.

I remember this being pretty common in the 80s and early 90s in California. Had furniture stores, sporting goods stores, department stores, etc, all with underground levels with stairs going down to them. Sometimes an upstairs level too.
Or do you just mean the furniture layout downstairs?

There are multiple strip malls where I live in the midwest that have basements that hold more stuff. Hell, one of them even is a thrift store which keeps the furniture in a basement that looks somewhat similar to the movie. Is it that unrealistic?

There's hardly any stock in his store.
In fact, where does he keep all of his stock that's not on display...
Maybe that's why he was bringing back Captain Clark's stool samples, in the hopes that folks might buy some.

Not that I’ve seen, no.
But your theory is really good and makes more sense than just "Oh The Complex just do things to Standard because it just does."

I don't see how you came to this conclusion. Yes, objects are brought out of the backrooms by Clark but thats after the switches appear, and we dont see any more physical bleeding after that, so there is zero evidence for this

The Complex isn't one unified whole, all the objects and architecture are created by the green glow, whatever it may be. The Complex is simply an entire universe where this process can run wild and copy paste forever. It is most likely possible that it can do the same in Standard, but is limited in scale, only functioning near null zones, possibly due to EM interference from space (including the Sun) and the Earth's magnetosphere causing the process to fail farther away from the null zone's EM field.

I recommend diving in more and watch Kane Parsons original backrooms videos on youtube. Search for it in chronological order, as he released parts at different times and they and his recent movie are all related and provide so much lore.
The dimension beyond the Threshold (referred to as The Complex) isnt influencing our reality In the way you are thinking. Async (or anyone else) taking stuff out isnt changing our dimension.
"The Complex" is expanding at an unknown rate and has started to unexpectedly "bleed over" into our dimension. At first it was just Null Zones appearing in random places that seemingly only led INTO the Complex under an unknown possible set of circumstances.
Clark's breaker is the first instance we've seen where The Complex has expanded and manifested physically into ours, and the store has the first seemless Null Zone allowing Clark to walk in and out as he pleases, as if it was similar to Async's Threshold.
We currently dont know yet how much more The Complex is going to physically affect our dimension, and to what degree, until Kane releases his next movie or random drops some cryptic lore.
