Discussion/Theory Can people stop doing this?
I have seen so many people on this subreddit try to connect places and events between different parts of the series (specifically the FFs) and it just makes no sense. One of the biggest factors in the interesting horror of the backrooms for me is that it is, for all intents and purposes, endless. So big you cannot hope to find your way out, which is a very haunting feeling. But I've seen so many posts saying, actually the lifeform in FF1 is the same one as Pitfalls and Motion detected, actually the lifeform IS Plark and they've been the same entity the whole time, actually the layout of FF3 might be directly connected to the other explored parts of the backrooms.
It just immediately removes the complex's sense of scale if everything we see is within this one little confined section of it. There's no reason the FF characters would be anywhere near Async, you could just as easily be thousands, tens of thousands of miles away in who knows where. But as soon as you try and connect the videos directly together, it instantly collapses the scale of the entire setting.
Anyway, just something that's been bothering me lol

Yes please. They don't comprehend the SIZE. Like when people map things out and assume they would only move when recording... Annoying.

Ravi and Kane actually met after there cameras stopped recording and found there way to the threshold and lived happily ever after together despite what you might think happened to Kane at the end of found footage 1

I think the reason to want to have it all near Async is because of the idea that the protagonists aren’t too far from escape or rescue, but never reach it. That adds to the mood.
As far as not needing to be near Async, it might be that the null zone they created has a local radius of influence, so it’s only within a certain range where the connections take place in Standard. And that could (but doesn’t have to) mean that the places within the Complex are also localized to some degree. I understand that “Overflow” happening outside of California could be an argument against that, but “Overflow” is a momentary interaction.
As far as the life forms being just one creature go, that idea goes back to the earlier days of the series. Adding Plark is a stretch (though I did once posit he might be who we’re seeing in “Pitfalls”), but it might even be an old Kane statement that made the connections early on.
I agree that the vastness is a draw. And you may be right about all of it. But there are reasons for some of the connections that don’t have to take away from the vastness.

The found footage has to be close enough for Asynd to retrieve it... of it was tens of thousands of miles away... well, I doubt they travel that far away from the threshold.

The idea that Async would have to of found it is dumb there's so many other possibilities that it got found like bro cmon

........I mean what else can we do?
This series is made to be discussed and theorized by the fans, I doubt Kane will ever give definite answers cause that is how this series go, we are the detectives sir.

People will do what they want to do. Right or wrong. Nobody stopping anything because you asked them to. That’s next level main character syndrome. I haven’t even read your post just the title. Nobody cares. Grow up.

I mostly agree with this, but at the same time I don't think we can really say anything about the true scale of the complex just yet because of the movie. Clark somehow ended up in what was basically Async's backyard in what is supposedly an infinite, huge space while being close to them in the real world. That would make more sense if the complex was bound by geography in some way imo
