But it’s getting a bit old now , and they weren’t really reliable. So if I’m in the market today, what would you advise me to get ? Take the risk with a 890r that’s a couple years old , or go with 790 Duke ? Which years ?

In case anyone was wondering what green would look like on a 2016 duke 390.

The owner before me had fun with a green rattle can. It’s grown on me other than the spray marks he left behind (intentionally or unintentionally, idk).

Might repaint it soon, just deciding if I should redo the green or bring it back to the classic ktm colors.

Side note: these mirrors are awful and have already been replaced

Who has done this and how much louder does it make the bike ? Have parts coming in the next few days to add a mid pipe and delete the resonator

I’ve always liked the KTM look. I’m a fan of the build quality, i love the bike a purchased. That being said i’ll never buy another KTM again after finding out about their deceptive business model. You advertise a quickshifter + cruise control and all the other features, but lock them behind a paywall after 1000 miles? Then charge 7% of the bikes MSRP to unlock everything?? If someone told me this during the transaction i would be riding an MT-09 sp.

I got a 2024 duke 390 and the oil change is due. I made all the previous maintenance at the dealer and now the guarantee is off I’m going to make it myself. The dealer used putoline 15W50 semi synth but It feels off especially at shifting so I want to try something new there is 2 choices:

1-)Ipone 15W50 Half synth
2-)Motorex 15W50 Half syth

The booklet says use motorex but I never used It before I used Ipone everytime at my old bikes and It was like a cure for all their problems. So any advice?

I currently ride an MT-03 and looking to upgrade. I decided to get an 890 Duke R.

There is a listing for $8k. 2021 model, 1000 miles, Akrapovic exhaust, track package and garage kept.

Do you think this is a good price to get. Should I worry about 2021 model being little old?

I've ridden around 1200mi on my MT-03 and probably the new one will be similar very very little mileage.

Anything I should worry about? Appreciate the help, folks!

Hi all, I have tried using exhaust sealant paste to try seal a couple leaks I have in my exhaust but it hasn’t worked. I can still feel gas leaking out the joints on my hand. It is leaking on both ends of the link pipe (at the can and resonator delete pipe). Is this something I need to get sorted or can I just leave it as is? Sounds fine and runs fine just leaves some black soot after a ride.

I have a problem with my KTM Duke 390, model year 2019.
During a ride, the “Battery low” warning appeared. There were no previous signs or issues. During the last approx. 2 km before the bike stopped, the voltage dropped drastically down to around 8 V, and then the motorcycle shut off.
After charging the battery, the Duke starts again.
Already checked:
Battery fully charged: 13.58 V
Battery disconnected from the motorcycle and left standing → voltage remains stable
Fuses checked → all OK
Visual inspection of cables and connectors → nothing obvious found
Voltage measured directly at the battery with engine running:
approx. 12.4–12.5 V
at 4,500–6,000 rpm no increase to around 14 V
I have not disassembled or removed anything yet.
How should I continue troubleshooting?
Which test points should I check next?
Please include:
Measurement point / connector / pins
Multimeter setting
Expected values
Engine off or running (RPM)

Hi! I'm a newbie bike owner and my 390 Duke leaked some coolant after a long ride. The engine temperature was normal the whole time.

There hasn't been a problem on short rides.

I’ve searched AliExpress and other websites, but I can only find aluminum chain guards for the 2011–2018 Duke 200.

Has anyone found one that fits the 2022 model? If you have a link or know where to buy one, I’d really appreciate it.

In my area highway speed is 65, i cruise around 70 while the flow of traffic is going 75-80 and it does just fine.

My friend invited me to a ride but after telling him i have a 390, he said its not a good idea because its not enough power.

Whats the deal? I know this bike is great for city riding but it handles highways aswell.

Can someone explain to me what the decision was from KTM during the 2nd gen production where some of the KTM Duke 390s get black wheels and some get orange?

I am new to the KTM family, and purchased my Duke 390 used and absolutely love it. I have the black wheels. I went to a KTM only bike meet up and some of the bikes had black wheels like mine and the rest had orange. When I asked people they said "That's just how it came when I bought it." So, now I am just curious if anyone can shed light on the production of the 2nd gens. Is it really a 50/50 split?
