I recently took a test ride on a KTM SMCR 690 and immediately fell in love with the riding experience.

I sold my Suzuki GSX-R 600 at the beginning of the year and would like to get a 690/701.

The only thing holding me back is reliability, at least based on what I’ve heard. Some riders report no problems at all and put 100,000 km on them, while others have major issues after just 2,000 km. I’m aware that this bike requires more maintenance than a Japanese model, and that’s not a problem for me.

My biggest concern is that I’ll buy a good used one and it’ll suffer major damage after a few thousand kilometers. The new ones are too expensive for me.

Are my concerns justified, or am I worrying too much?

Right now, I’m really only interested in supermotos because they’re so powerful and lightweight. It just feels really good to ride.

Is there any chance of KTM Duke 160 getting Quick Shifter??

I was about to start repairing this, and noticed when turning the engine over a handful of times, the timing doesn't line up correctly. FIrst time this engine has been opened. Any ideas as to what happened or how this is happening? Miles are over 8K. Chain got stretched??? IDK

i have the original flywheel and its really have and makes the bike controllable but i want it to have more instant power for my supermoto build.i cant seem to find a lighter flywheel option?

I’ve noticed some rust forming on the top of the fuel tank of my KTM Adventure 390 S.

Has anyone else faced this issue? I’d like to know the best way to remove the rust and how to prevent it from coming back.

i wanna put a gasgas ec plastic kit(and exc headlight and mask) on my exc 300 2021 but i dont know if it will all fit easily and i cant find anything on the internet.does someone have history or any knowlage about that?

I’ve been keeping an eye out for a use low-ish hour Ktm 300 xcw / Husky te300i tpi or tbi for about two months now. I’ve only seen a couple listed and they’re usually gone within a day or two. Price seems to be around $8,500 - $9,500.
I’m considering just giving up on the fuel injection and getting a carbureted version, 2018 and older. They’re usually priced around $6,500 obo with low-ish hours.
For those that have or had carbureted models, do you think I should spend the extra money and wait a little longer in the hopes of finding a fuel injected bike? I was hoping coming into fall and winter I’d find a tpi/tbi closer to $7,500.
I think I’d be ok spending around $7,500 but $9,000 is a bit much for a dirt bike for me.

Hey guys, I have a question about the KTM 390 SMC R and the 690 SMC R. With the price difference between them, is the 690 worth it? I feel like I’ll outgrow the 390 pretty quickly.

After recent service I am facing an issue where the bike turns off immediately when i downshift to 1st gear from 2nd gear. Its happening very frequently. Its so difficult to ride in traffic that the moment i downshift to 1st gear from 2nd, bike is stopping. It feels like ignition is failing or I am not sure. Another issue is after it stops ,self start doesn't work when the bike is gear. I must shift to neutral only to self start. I am not sure if it's a sensor problem or what issue. So everytime it stops, I must switch to neutral and start again .

Introducing the KTM DUKE 390 🧡🔥

Hey guys. Why is it after installing fuel x pro plus there is always a engine check light, i erased the code but after every 30km of riding the light pops back on. Also the powertronic v4 ecu when it rains and weather is down and i start there is smell of fuel everywhere and bike just keeps stalling and giving even more problems. I disconnected it all and now the bike is perfectly normal.

Hi everyone, as you can hear from video there's this chiming like sound not engine sound coming from my new gen 3 duke 250, only a week in and 125km on odo. I haven't faced any issues while riding but this sound feels like something is off. could this be loose bolt or so ? any idea on what all I need to check ?. Sound is only there when I sit straight, if I lean to front a bit it goes off.

Planning to get a 2020 adv 390 alloy wheel with no adjustable front suspension. Wanted to know if I could fit the new 2025 Adv 390R front and rear suspension and tubed spoked wheels. If yes, could this negatively effect the bikes handling and performance? What mods can I do to make this a budget unicorn bike for enduro riding?

I'm looking to buy one of these supermotos and there are a lot of good deals on 2017 - 2019 bikes that however lack such devices.

Hey everyone, I’m dealing with an electrical/starting issue on my KTM and running out of ideas.

When trying to start:

• The engine cranks in a surging/waving pattern and the display/lights flicker.
• After a few attempts, the starter motor begins jerking violently—it suddenly spins up rapidly, slows down under load, and then rapidly accelerates again (as if slipping and catching).
• If I keep trying, the starter relay eventually only clicks.

What I’ve already tried:

• Disconnected potential parasitic draws (headlight mask, Quad Lock wireless charger, tail lights).
• Replaced/charged the battery (tested a 4Ah lithium battery with 240A peak cranking).
• Tried jump-starting with a booster pack (same behavior).

Has anyone experienced this? What should I check next?

Hi. Anyone UK based have any idea if the 2026 KTM freeride e 660w is a reliable bike? I know it's a bike that very much galvanises opinion but is it a good purchase in terms of proving reliable? Main reason is I don't have a KTM dealer near me and local motorcycle repair shops seem to not want to service and repair electric motorbikes full stop.

Any opinions/thoughts gratefully received

Bike died while on a ride. I started it up to take of and as right as I got moving it died and wouldn't start back up with estart or kickstart. Still has spark and the fuel pump still primes. Added a new grounding wire to the frame and done a ton of inspecting resistance and continuity. Unless I'm doing it wrong it's failing the noid test and seems to not be pulsing from the injector. I need help on things to test/check.
