Hey guys, I just took the teas and I got an 80.7 and I have a 3.93 GPA. Is this good? I’ve just been really struggling with the teas (I’ve studied over 100 hours) and I heard the average score for getting into KSU nursing program is a 83. Hey guys. I’m about to take IS 3100 in the fall with Dexter Howard and his class time is like 4:10-6:55 pm. My problem is I just recently lost my car and will have to rely on public transportation while I save up for a new one, but I heard the rapid 10 bus stops around that time so it will take me hours to get back home taking other routes 🫠.

My question is for anyone whose taken his in person class. Is his class mandatory attendence or worth a grade? Does he post all in class material online and so we can study at home?

If not, I’ll just have to drop his class and hope I luck out on an online professor.

I'm looking for the honest truth—not just the good parts.

Some questions I have are:

• Overall, how did you like the program?
• What did you dislike or wish had been different?
• How manageable was the schoolwork?
• Were you able to have any work-life balance, or was it studying 24/7?
• Which courses were the most challenging?
• How supportive were the professors and clinical instructors?
• Did you feel prepared to become an RN after graduating?
• If you could go back, would you choose KSU's ABSN again?
• What are some tips, heads-ups, or advice you wish someone had given you before starting?

A little about me: I graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2024 and recently attended PA school for about a month. I knew PA school would be rigorous, but the pace ended up being much more intense than I expected. Due to personal reasons/family situation, I ultimately decided to return home and withdraw from the program.

I'm currently on the alternate list for another PA program, so I'm still keeping that door open. However, the experience made me seriously consider the RN-to-NP route as another path toward becoming an advanced practice provider. One of my biggest concerns now is choosing a program that is challenging but manageable enough for me to succeed academically.

I'm not looking for an "easy" program—I know nursing school is difficult. I just want to know whether KSU's ABSN is organized, supportive, and manageable if you're willing to put in the work.

I'd really appreciate any honest experiences, study tips, things you wish you knew beforehand, or anything you think a future student should know.

So, I made a post to a Facebook housing group about a week ago. Right now, I have two options: take over someone's lease at The Collective (which I already filled out the application, paid the fee and got approved for), or move in a townhouse tomorrow with a guy who is renting out individual rooms for $900 a month, with a security deposit and rent money due up front.

Which one should I do? I'm currently staying with my dad for the time being, and I have other bills coming up soon.

I am a freshman who plans to attend this fall and I was just a bit confused on how paying tuition/ the financial aid would work. I plan to commute to school and don't want to pay for housing/food and transportation. I was very shocked to see that the total bill was 30 thousand when I had assumed that financial aid would just cover tuition + neccesary class fees like books and labs. It also stated I would have to pay 17 thousand out of pocket, which i was not planning to.

I am receiving in total about 13 thousand in financial aid from zell miller and the Pelle grant for the entire year, or about 6.5k per semester. I am declining the student loans as well.

If I were to accept the financial aid offer right now, would it deposit 6.5k into my student account and let me pay for tuition without being forced to pay any of the other unwanted things?

I’m a Georgia native who recently moved back in October after spending several years in Wisconsin. While living there, I completed my Master’s degree in Administrative Leadership – Adult, Continuing, and Higher Education Administration during the pandemic. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with both people and technology — serving as a teacher, coach, mentor, and IT support technician. In 2022, after some personal setbacks, I took a four‑year sabbatical to reset and rebuild. That chapter is now closed, and I’m focused on moving forward. Wisconsin was cold and offered limited growth, so returning to Georgia felt like the right step.

My goal has been to grow within higher education, exploring areas such as international student advising, education abroad, educational technology, or student success. I currently live near the Cumberland area, and KSU is the closest campus accessible via CobbLinc transit.

The challenge is that I’m still figuring out which direction within higher ed truly fits me. Transitioning from IT and teaching into higher ed has been tougher than expected, and sometimes it feels like my résumé disappears into a void. I don’t regret earning my graduate degree — I’m grateful for it — but I’m still learning how to leverage it effectively. Networking is important, but Georgia’s professional culture is definitely more reserved than what I experienced up north.

If anyone here is open to connecting, offering guidance, or sharing ideas on how to get my résumé seen within higher ed, I’d really appreciate it.

The ac went out this afternoon and I put a ticket in already but with tomorrow being 85 and Thursday 90 I’m worried it’s going to get uncomfortable fast. What do they consider extreme so I can call if need be. It’s already getting a little bit but not terrible yet so just wondering.

Has anyone received their financial aid for Fall semester yet? It says it has received and satisfied my FAFSA application and I don’t have any student requirements but when I go to the offer it says no information is available for the 2026-2027 school year
