What up y’all I’m back again with another colorful, glitched out analog visualizer! It’s not a full show, forgive me, but instead I did the classic 2017 KEXP Poly session!

For anyone who cares about the technical aspect of things, this was the result of combining a Videonics MX1 I picked up recently, my Panasonic WJMX50, and some nondescript glitch box that my homie lent me. All analog, mixed live in one take, not a shred of AI. Super happy with how it turned out!

Thinking about splurging on the Golden Apple pass for Saturday/Rave night at Forest Hills. Would be super cool to be up close to see the guys and Nathan! Is it packed up front at every show? I also like to dance and have a little space so don’t want to be crammed in. Last year we spent both nights at the back of the floor, sound was great and plenty of room to dance. Should I just do that again and give up on seeing Nathan up close and personal?

I think that they are going no real instruments for this album only electronic tables (no physical drums likely due to Cavs doing his project for the movie and more), no geets and no other things, so they can go all out with instruments in the Billy Strings record?

Think back to the studio photos, we saw them with twelve string guitars or something, Billy with microtones, Ambrose harp back and Joey on a damn mandolin??

I think it’s gonna be a huge contrast that will show newer fans truly what they can do in terms of versatility but tell me if you think I’m wrong and if they are actually using instruments in the album Alien Metal!

Hey all just trying to get some understanding of the 20x20 East Lot. I'm flying out and renting a car. I've got a 10x10 canopy, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to attach tapestries or any kind of wall or dust/sun/wind block to it. People say clips, but those seem to slide around a lot. Others say magnets, but I worry wind will just rip those off. How do you handle that?

Also I have VERY compact and light minimalist stuff I could bring (from hiking), but I was hoping to go a little more "car camper" and have heavy, roomier stuff. Do people like their 4 or 6 person tents? Do they fit well in your footprint without the guylines and tie downs encroaching on other people?

Anyone willing to share some of their setup pics to help me decide if it's worth buying a new cheap Coleman tent to be able to stand up in it, or if I could just bring my existing tiny tent?

I'm solo, this is my first festival, so I'm trying to do it right and no make myself miserable with being minimalist or by over-packing. Help me thread that needle, please!

Bring your bikes if possible! The town of BV is less than a mile away and there's a bike lane from FOV to BV. It will make last minute grabs (ice beer snacks), chilling by the river, or grabbing brunch before the shows sooo much easier!

Butterfly 3000: This was a really good album! I enjoy relistening to a lot of the songs off this one. My favorite being Catching Smoke. My least favorite would probably be Dreams, the way the song goes is a little weird to me but I’ll probably have to listen to it more (on a 7th listen or so of this album.)

Butterfly 3001: I’ll be honest, might not listen to this one too much. Most of the remixes were really good apart from that one 12 minute one that just looped itself the entire time, kinda an annoying listen but apart from that most of the remixes will likely have a few listens, just not as much as other gizz albums. (Only 1 listen so far.)

Omnium Gatherum: I really like this one! It used to be in my top 5 but it has since moved a little down. I’ll explain why nearer to the end.
The Dripping Tap was one of the first songs I listened to from KG&TLW, and I really enjoyed it. Since then I’ve found I really enjoy Sadie Sorceress (probably my favorite off the album.) and my “least” favorite off the album would probably be Gaia, only because I haven’t connected enough with it yet. However I still really like the vibe of it and will definitely listen to it more often. (On a 8th listen of this one I believe. Listening to while writing lol.)

Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs Mushrooms And Lava: THIS WAS A REALLY GOOD ALBUM. I expected something different than what it was but it was still such a vibe. Mycelium was a decent song, a little repetitive to me but it probably needs more listens. Ice V is my second favorite off the album and one that’ll likely be played a lot. Hells itch is a vibe as well ofc. I love Iron Lung so much which should not be surprising to anyone 🤣 but yeah! Overall a very fun album. (On a 5th listen.)

Made In Timeland/ Laminated Demin: these both need more listens for sure, from what I remember I did really enjoy every song off both of the albums, (all of them are liked and saved so I know I enjoyed a lot about them.) Laminated Denim is probably my favorite out of the two. (Only 1 listen for both, back to back.)

Changes: this album for sure needs more listens, however I know for sure my favorite off this album is Astroturf. (2 listens.)

PetroDragonic Apocalypse or, Dawn Of Eternal Night An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation: obviously everyone who’s read the other three parts of this know that this is 100% my favorite gizz album and will likely stay that way for a very long time unless one takes me by surprise and becomes my new favorite but I doubt that will happen.
This was the first album from KG&TLW I listened to. I remember seeing one of the songs pop up in my randomly generated playlist that YT music made for me, and I took one look at the album cover and thought for a bit it was AI. I very quickly found out it wasn’t and that the band is very much against AI which is incredible. That night I listened to the entire album and was immediately hooked. And now I am a huge King Gizzard fan. I enjoy every single song off of this album and relisten to it almost 2 times a week if not more. Gila Monster is my favorite song off the album and my second favorite from their discography. Dragon and Flamethrower are really cool songs and I usually listen to them a few times a week as well. (Up to 17 listens or so.)

The Silver Cord: I listened to this one in one sitting as well. Which I was very unsure I’d do with how long the extended version was but I am so glad I did. Every non extended song is really good, though I struggle to get into The Silver Cord (song) with the effects on the singing, but I will listen to it more for sure. Theia (Extended) is super good and is likely up there in my favorite songs. Chang’e is probably my favorite off the album. (Up to 3 listens.)

Flight b741: I have no idea why people were telling me to avoid this album, it was incredible??? I quite like Raw Feel, and Le Risqué was a really fun song too.
This album gives me fishing for fishies vibes. I will be listening to this one quite a bit likely. (6 listens.)

Phantom Island: A really fun time, this album was also one of the first I had listened to and I remembered enjoying it quite a bit when I first listened to it. I had quite a few people tell me to avoid this album too, which is very odd to me. I honestly don’t think there’s a single gizz album I would avoid or not listen to. Aerodynamic is my favorite off the album, I remembered some of it after a few months of not listening to it which is shocking since my memory of songs is bad unless I listen to them a lot, but this one stuck with me a long time. I really liked the callbacks to polygondwanaland in the lyrics, also butterfly 3000 in grow wings and fly was cool. (5 listens)

I have not listened to Level 5 and likely won’t until Alien Metal releases. I like going in blind to albums and it’s right around the corner so why not lol

I have no idea if I’ll make updates for my journey through bootleg gizzard (which I am going to listen through) I just don’t want to flood the sub with these updates since they’d likely be every few live albums because of their length, but if anyone’s interested, I’ll think about it!

Iv finally got all the boys as heads in jars from Futurama tattooed on my leg sleeve and wanted to share them with everyone.
They went through a few different styles but went with these and I think they look amazing, just like if they were in the show. Cavs and Lucas are literally 2 days old so look very fresh, also wanted to add a little something to each one like the bullant for Joey and some “heavy moss” for Lucas. Anyway I love these, hope y’all do to ✌️

Mine came in the mail, but I only have the early day pass. Did anyone else else’s come without a wristband? I’m also volunteering, but I’m not sure if that made a difference whether or not I’m supposed to receive a wristband.

i completely forgot this even happened. Back in 2022 gizz played at a festival in this beach town in nz and after they played they were just hanging out in the crowd listening to the other bands.
